  3. Hi Everybody,
I could be wrong but the Marlins have only 2 guys in tonight’s lineup that were in the last series. Hechawarria & Fernandez. This could be big if the Dodgers could win tonight. The sooner they win the better. Keep it going.

  4. crash24now says:

Two free passes and no runs. Boo.

  5. The way Fenandez is pitching it could be a tough climb.

  6. vl4eccjr says:

I see it’s an MLB TV freebie tonight! 😉

  7. At least we scored.

  8. vl4eccjr says:

I hope Dre is okay. Dildonnie may be having second thoughts now on activating Wilson & sending down Van Slyke. . .

  9. vl4eccjr says:

    What’s Juan been eating lately?

  10. Another nice clutch hit by Uribe.

  11. Oh well, we’re losing again.

  12. lbirken says:

Tough game so far tonight with a bunch of strikeouts. Puig is giving away too many at bats lately and what became of his power?

  13. 10 Dodgers have struck out so far

  14. vl4eccjr says:

I’m still hoping they will light up their bullpen, and get the lead. . .

  15. Ryu had another good outing, he was just outpitched.

  16. vl4eccjr says:

    Sheeit!!!

  17. lbirken says:

That hurt. The bullpen has been so good we expect nothing but zeros.

  18. I just said to myself, “I hope Stanton don’t hit a homerun and give them an insurance run,” BOOM

  19. vl4eccjr says:

The wheels are coming off of the wagon now. . .

  20. vl4eccjr says:

Goes to show you can’t even underestimate the cellar dweller teams this time of year. A very poor offensive show tonight after a poor defensive show yesterday.
    G’night folks!

  21. I can’t take my eyes off that D’back game.

  22. lbirken says:

Road games late in the year against teams like the Marlins are always dangerous. I don’t think it is an issue of the better team taking the weaker team for granted but sometimes the weaker team just plays with no pressure and do enough to win. Championship caliber teams find a way to overcome this challenge and while the Dodgers may not win tonight, we will see if they can do enough to win the remaining games in this series.

  23. It’s OK folks the D’backs just lost.

  24. lbirken says:

What is going on…a two game losing streak. Another game to forget and get back to winning tomorrow.

  25. kahliforni says:

I think Puig needs a day off to “watch.” Did he swing at any strikes the past two days? And his little dugout hissy fit didn’t help matters…

  26. This a MUST win tonight for the Dodgers. The sooner they bounce back after these two loses the better. Can’t afford to go into a losing streak right after the historic run and can’t depend on the D’backs losing..

  27. lbirken says:

Interesting reading from an article by former player Gabe Kapler about PED use.

  28. crash24now says:

Those who wanted Puig to sit down today get their wish.

  29. Puig of no Puig a win will get everything back up to par.

  30. crash24now says:

The offense needs to string together some hits and get some runs. Uribe has been hot lately, hopefully he can drive in a few runs tonight.

  31. Quick (Bad) start for the Marlins I hate to think what I’m thinking.

  32. Really enjoying Uribe’s hot bat. Let’s go Dodgers.

  33. crash24now says:

Crap! First and third, no outs, then no runs scored.

  34. Our timely hitting is on vacation . . . .

  35. crash24now says:

Capuano is settling in… let’s get him some runs!!!!

  36. crash24now says:

Don’t shoot the messenger, but Puig’s replacement has hit into two double plays already.

  37. trublu4ever says:

Woo-hoo…not pretty but we have 3 runs!

  38. o.k. tHINGS ARE LOOKING BETTER.

  39. Let’s hope Cappy can hold it there.

  40. trublu4ever says:

Cappy is still a crappy pitcher.

  41. This is a slugfest.

  42. nedisajerk says:

Hey Tru how Nelly doing? Is not the same without her here.

  43. vl4eccjr says:

    POOF!!
    Nice going League!

  44. Tough game, needless to say.

  45. Hitting into so many double plays sure didn’t help either.

  46. I hope this isn’t a taste of the rest of the season.

  47. koufax1963 says:

This is a game the Dodgers need to win, games 3/4 we have a good chance, but…..and just got out of that inning, whew! My how the press are on Puig now…..Lets go Dodgers!

  48. The Dodgers have had a runner in scoring position in every inning so far, they’re something like 3 for 12.

  49. koufax1963 says:

Oh and Goldschmitt Grand slam for the Snakes

  50. BAD NEWS: D’backs win.

  51. trublu4ever says:

Good job by Belli & Paco…boy a few more runs for us would be wonderful.

  52. trublu4ever says:

An insurance run…yes…now close it out Kenley!

  53. An insurance run,
    GO K.J.

  54. Apparenly Kenley doesn’t like the way the mound is.

  55. vl4eccjr says:

I guess they interrupted the grounds keepers 4:20 break!

  56. trublu4ever says:

Feeling much better tonight..way to go guys!

  57. lbirken says:

The Dodgers found a way to win tonight. Something tells me this could be a bumpy ride to the end of the season.

  58. This team is GIDP at a record pace lately. Leaving an awful lot of LOB too. Part of the ebb and flow of the season I suppose. Unless the wheels fall off the bus though I’m not too worried about Zona catching them. Kersh/Greinke/Ryu will ensure we don’t have any long losing streaks.

    • trublu4ever says:

      I hope so.

    • JhallWally says:

Hey my brother.. Doesn’t , matter when you are winnig;;;; However, in the playoffs, it will be a problem…
It was a problem in April and May…. I agree, with our pitching, we should not have a long losing streak….
This team is bound for the playoffs, barring a historic crash….
With our pitching, I think we can bring home the WS trophy…..

  59. crash24now says:

Puig is back in the lineup tonight. I’m looking for a multi-hit game from him, if only to make up for the fact that Uribe is not starting tonight.

  60. Hi
Just hoping Greinke is sharp tonight. Need to keep on winning.
The offense has to start gelling again.

  61. September is going to be ST all over again for Kemp IF he returns at all. If they’re going to make a run at the WS they really do need him in the line-up or coming off the bench to mix and match OFers against tough pitching.

  62. Nathan’s pumped up tonight.

  63. Man that Stanton is really hot.

  64. The fish sure play fast and loose with the baseball.

  65. Nice inning for the 3-1 lead.

  66. koufax1963 says:

I think Zack should swing away, what pitcher has that BA? and if his pitching is on, need to move that runner up!

  67. Nice insurance run knock in by JHJ.

  68. trublu4ever says:

    Very nice win!

  69. Very good play by Dre to end it.

  70. vl4eccjr says:

    NICE!!
Too bad Broxton is trying his best to blow the Reds lead over the Dbags right now.

  71. vl4eccjr says:

    Dbags lose!

  72. GAME OVER WE’RE 8 1/2 UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  73. crash24now says:

Nice game by Greinke tonight. We’re back on track with a two game winning streak.

  74. lbirken says:

These wins (and hopefully another on Thursday) against an east coast team playing with something to prove are huge. These would be called trap games in football. The team is showing some grit.

  75. Hi
With Kershaw on the mound, things look pretty bright today. And that 8 1/2 game lead is just simply beautiful.

  76. Clayton seemed wild and hittable.

  77. Those first 2 innings have been a struggle for Kershaw, amazing they didn’t score.

  78. Clayton’s pitches must’ve looked a lot better to the Marlins since they were more agressive but still no score.

  79. Whoa!!! Puig just missed hitting one out of there.

  80. RBI no. 8 for Clayton
    WAYTOGO CC.

  81. crash24now says:

Kershaw helping himself with his own bat.

  82. Much better inning for Kershaw.

  83. Now that’s great two two out doubles Andre and A.J produce another run 4-0.

  84. Clayton settlling down.

  85. crash24now says:

Kershaw being Kershaw – he is playoff ready.

  86. Clayton’s cruising.

  87. crash24now says:

    The Beard has arrived.

  88. I, for one, am diappointed Kershaw didn’t finish the game and go for the complete game shutout.

  89. trublu4ever says:

Very good Boys…have a safe trip home…..and, to make it even better…Dbacks lost!

  90. Just looked up, IT’S 9 1/2 UP.

  91. 32and53fan says:

Great start for Wilson. He had good control, missing over the plate on just one pitch. If he can keep up that type of command the rest of the year, the bullpen will be really tough to beat.

  92. crash24now says:

    13-7 for Kershaw.

Brian Wilson looks to be capable. Bullpen will be stacked for the playoffs:

    Jansen
    Paco
    Beli
    B Wilson
    Withrow
    JP Howell
    League
Marmol (?) – substitute in Dominguez if he’s ready.

  93. What can we say – we came, we saw, we fried the fish!

  94. crash24now says:

Kershaw’s ERA now down to 1.72

  95. crash24now says:

Dodgers are now just 2 1/2 games behind MLB leading Braves.

  96. lbirken says:

Baring any unforeseen circumstances, I don’t see any reason to alter the pitching rotation. The Dodgers do not have to win every game and to overuse a starting pitcher right now makes no sense. Complete games do not help in the standings. With all the arms in the bullpen, it seems management also wants to relieve some of the pressure there as well.

I think this series in Florida showed quite a bit about the Dodgers. The team lost the last game of the previous series and the first game of this one. I am sure a lot of us were concerned the Dodgers’ fortunes may have changed. I know I was concerned. Puig was not hitting, the team was having trouble scoring runs and things just looked a bit shaky compared to how well the team had been playing. However, the pitching held up, the offense perked up enough and the defense held, taking 3 of 4 games and picking up two games in the standings.

So bring on the Red Sox and another huge series.

  97. vl4eccjr says:

Vin is coming back next year for his 65th season as a Dodger broadcaster. God Bless Him!!

    Simply the best!!
Better than ALL the rest!!! 🙂
