    Nice photo.

  4. vl4eccjr says:

    Good evening Dodger fans!
I’ve done all the on line voting I could for the ASG. Hopefully everyone else has too.

  5. vl4eccjr says:

Nice to see AJ still has a pulse.

  6. vl4eccjr says:

Eddings sure has sucked on balls & strikes counts.

  7. vl4eccjr says:

  8. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Hard luck on the road.

  9. trublu4ever says:

Okay….Howie nice job…..bring in some runs!

  10. vl4eccjr says:

Guerrero is giving me pleasant flashbacks of Manny Mota coming off the bench. 😉

  11. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Giants lost.

  12. trublu4ever says:

Come on Kenley….give us the win!

  13. trublu4ever says:

  14. oldbrooklynfan says:

    2 1/2 up.

  15. vl4eccjr says:

    Kenley does it!

  16. koufax1963 says:

AG sure is clutch in the PH department.

  17. oldbrooklynfan says:

Greinke has been pitching well lately, as usual, but hasn’t been able to get a win. Let’s hope his luck changes tonight.

  18. You may or may not recall that Andre Ethier has been working out at first base also. What an interesting thing that would be 🙂

    • nedisajerk says:

Actually I do but I don’t think that’s an option at all and really do you want to see Helsey or Hernandez in the OF? I’d rather leave Ethier in the OF where he belong until SVS or Crawford come back.

  19. lbirken says:

Another tough game for the Dodgers.

  20. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Nice inning for Greinke.

  21. oldbrooklynfan says:

I didn’t think Greinke would give Upton a good pitch to hit.

  22. vl4eccjr says:

Sheeeit! That Upton HR is just a warning track fly before they moved the fences in. 😦

  23. lbirken says:

    Need some magic tonight.

  24. vl4eccjr says:

I never cared for Kimbrel’s theatrics on the mound. . .

  25. oldbrooklynfan says:

Good game, but there can only be one winner.

  26. lbirken says:

No decision for Kershaw last night and a loss for Greinke tonight. Hopefully the offense can put some runs on the board tomorrow.

  27. trublu4ever says:

I didn’t get to see last nights game…was at our county fair….so, I followed on my phone….can’t believe we couldn’t score off Kennedy. Oh, well, on to a win today!

  28. griz says:

Seriously? One run? Pederson and Gonzales have gone cold, and Rollins has turned off again after starting to show some life. What will it take for this bunch to start scoring some runs. I figure most reactions will be fire Donnie, but then what? Maybe he should bat. He could probably still do more than this crew.

    • The Beav says:

In a way, I can blame Donnie Griz. When the team’s flat, why not hit and run? Put some pressure on the defense and make the boys focus more on offense. They all stand around and wait for the HR, or wait for AGon to do something. This team plays AL ball in the NL and you end up getting [again] what we had last night. No way that line-up against a POS like Kennedy should’ve only gotten 1 run.

      • trublu4ever says:

I also think the Joc as our lead off man has failed…..try something different, Donnie!

        • oldbrooklynfan says:

I agree with Beav. I was wondering why this team doesn’t run anymore. What is it, 14 stolen bases? This station to station crap’s getting on my nerves. I can’t help but miss Dee Gordon.

  29. griz says:

Beav and true are correct, I believe. Let’s do something different. Waiting around for three run homers does not seem to be working. As good as he can be, Gonzalez can’t carry the team alone.

  30. koufax1963 says:

Not dismissing the great game Kennedy pitched, but Grienke pitched equally well, and oh my hearing that charlie steiner keep saying;”upton has .391 average vs. Grienke, perhaps he would rather face kemp” 2 outs, 2 strikes and them boom 2-1, and kemp after that softly ground to greinke. Understand Greinke would be serious CY young consideration with more wins, what he has held to 6 wins for over 6 starts. Grienke will probably opt out next year.
Puig had an excellent at bat vs. Kimbrel, Gonzo hits in to another DP, geez.

  31. trublu4ever says:

Dre with a triple and of course Rollins can’t even get a single to drive him in!

  32. lbirken says:

Funny how for years we lamented the lack of home run power on typical Dodger rosters and now that the team has demonstrated, admittedly a bit by surprise, some home run power, we want more “small” ball. I still believe Donnie does not do more hit and run or direct stealing because he does not fully trust his players to successfully execute those plays. I do understand the frustration at hitting into so many double plays, or wasting extra base hits as the Dodgers just did.

    • The Beav says:

You can’t play small ball unless you practice playing small ball, and that I do blame Donnie for. Donnie’s never played small ball more than a inning here and there and it shows.

  33. lbirken says:

    There’s your lack of execution.

  34. trublu4ever says:

Bundy has to be the lousiest 3rd base coach in the league! He is useless POS!

  35. lbirken says:

Those defensive shifts prove hitters seldom are able to “place” hits. Rollins hit into the shift but hit the ball hard enough to get by the fielder.

  36. The Beav says:

Another thing that pisses me off to no end. When Lopes was with the Phillies, they not only had power, but one of the best if not the best running game in the league. Since he’s been back here, the running game has kept creeping downward until it fell of a cliff this year. I don’t blame Lopes though. I blame the philosophy built around a Clydesdale as the focal point of the all or nothing offense. Its an absolute travesty that a Dodger team can’t and won’t run, made even moreso by having the best running coach in the league made insignificant.

    • lbirken says:

As much as I like “challenging” some.of the things you say, it is hard to disagree here because Donnie admitted how the offense revolves around Gonzalez.

  37. lbirken says:

Defensive indifference in the 5th inning of a scoreless game?

  38. trublu4ever says:

  39. vl4eccjr says:

Bolsinger went down the tubes rather quickly. . . 😦

  40. oldbrooklynfan says:

It sure look like Bolsinger was going to have another fantastic outing until Shields got that 2 out single.

  41. vl4eccjr says:

    Thanks Dre!

  42. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Your boy hit another one.

  43. trublu4ever says:

Why would you let Howell go into his 2nd inning of work?! And, why, would you bring HATCHER in a close game?!

  44. oldbrooklynfan says:

Maybe getting into their bullpen will help.

  45. lbirken says:

Donnie rolled the dice by having JP start another inning and having Hatcher get the last two outs.

  46. oldbrooklynfan says:

    The meat and potato man.

  47. lbirken says:

Once again a walk given up by a relief pitcher hurts his team. And Avon barely for that hit by the defender. Too bad the Dodgers still leave another runner in scoring position. But at least they still have life.

  48. trublu4ever says:

Now, Liberatore has to hold it so we can get the lead in the 9th.

  49. lbirken says:

Memo to Padre hitters: do not hit the ball to centerfield.

  50. lbirken says:

I don’t think this home plate umpire will get a good review on his strike zone today.

  51. oldbrooklynfan says:

    The Jints lost.

  52. trublu4ever says:

See, Donnie, the Padres bunt….and, guess what, a runner in scoring position!

  53. vl4eccjr says:

    Joc is a STUD!!!

  54. trublu4ever says:

  55. lbirken says:

Wow, another stunning play by Pederson.

  56. vl4eccjr says:

  57. vl4eccjr says:

Ravin showing some moxie getting out of that mess.

  58. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Ravin can really fire them.

  59. kahliforni says:

For all you stat geeks, Gonzalez and Kendrick rank in the Top 25 in all of baseball for grounding into double plays. The good? Men are on base in front of them. The bad? Donnie ball. Memo to Donnie and Andrew: this isn’t New York or Tampa Bay. This is the National League. Put pressure on the defense…don’t wait for your DH to hit a three-run homer.

  60. vl4eccjr says:

    A-Gon delivers!!

  61. oldbrooklynfan says:

    The Grocery man…MVP

  62. trublu4ever says:

Wow….what a nice win…. now, off to Texas.

  63. vl4eccjr says:

Two out of three ain’t bad!!
I hope they do well against the Rangers. They’ve been playing good ball lately. They are not the same doormat team they were earlier this season.

  64. oldbrooklynfan says:

    A phenomenal win.

  65. The Beav says:

So Donnie’s “formula” of hoping for AGon to drive home a couple runs worked this time. Whoopee.

Someday we might even have that “functioning baseball team” Friedman spoke of.

    • Dodger4life says:

Meanwhile the Cardinals are busy beating up on the team with the 3rd highest win % in MLB, just like they did the team with the 2nd highest win % in MLB!

  66. The Beav says:

Funny. Playing NL ball in the NL works for the Cardinals.

But then, they’re a “functioning baseball team.”

  67. oldbrooklynfan says:

A game like yesterday, could put some spark in a team and inspire it to keep the momentum going forward.

  68. Dodger4life says:

I just read that Bud Black was fired…

Dave Roberts is the interim manager. I wonder if Kemp is still the anointed captain?

  69. messagebear says:

As if Rollins constantly in the lineup isn’t enough, we have to play Collaspo too?

    • Dodger4life says:

      Guerrero’s defense sucks…Turner sucks at 1B…
Why didn’t Gonzalez just take a nap on the tarmac at LAX???

Strap one of them musical circus mobile’s to the overhead console and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. 2 hours later he’d be good to go again!

  70. Dodger4life says:

Bovada has the over/under on Dodger runs scored tonight at 4 1/2

    Texas is at 4
