Giants Series

This series could impact the NL West standings. On Monday the Dodgers can be a half game behind the Giants, or 5 1/2 games ahead… or anything in between.

It is highly unlikely that the Dodgers can get another balk-off win, so their bats better warm up fast.

I like the changes in the lineup ….. just wonder what took him so long to come up with a different idea?!

      • oldbrooklynfan says:

Since the Dodgers only scored 7 runs in the Ranger series, I guess a little juggling was done to shake it up a bit.

  2. vl4eccjr says:

    WTF Bolsinger?!
Hanging a cookie down broadway you get bit!!

  3. griz says:

Just had to walk Pagan so he could pitch to Posey.

  4. oldbrooklynfan says:

    A slugfest.

  5. koufax1963 says:

well Manging wise, this Dre- affledt-SVS switching was encouraging
wish we could string some hits

  6. vl4eccjr says:

    Thar she blows!!!

This has to be the worst time to be a Dodger fan in history – throw in living in the Bay Area and having to see this pathetic play night in and night out just kills me.

I am ready to break my laptop.

I can’t stand this new FO – I can’t stand Donnie – I can’t stand Conte – I can’t stand Steiner. The bummer is nothing is going to change. With the moves the FO & Donnie keep making this is what we have to look forward to for years.

Tonight is officially my low as a Dodger fan.

  8. colliethec says:

Funny how a team can have a team meeting and the next 2 games play totally flat.

Something is amiss & you can’t blame it on Hanley or Kemp anymore.

  9. colliethec says:

Down 9-4 with 2 outs in the B 9th you send the runner who almost get’s thrown out at home?!!! Why would you send the runner?

How stupid and poorly run is this team? It’s a joke and embarrassing.

  10. oldbrooklynfan says:

Well we got our butts kicked tonight. Tomorrow’s another night. Can’t give up. Gotta keep challenging them.

  11. colliethec says:

Good news is Heisey was optioned.

  12. griz says:

This really does have to be new low. We’ve had trouble scoring runs in the past, no secret, but this lack of a “spark” we’re seeing now really is baffling. Finally scored last night but the staff caved. That pitch posey hit for a slam can only be described as batting practice. Where’s the new Cuban? I think it’s still a little early for Seager, but he is supposed to be getting close.

  13. griz says:

Bolsinger says he got “a little lazy” and “served it up” to posey. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????
Is it just me or is something basically f****d up with that.

  14. koufax1963 says:

why do I feel slumping teams get healthy and even feast on the Dodgers???And this time we get a lead 1-0, and just cough it up, glad we came back with a bit more, but who in the hell thinks this Bull pen is any better than last years?
Perhaps losing first place will motivate something?
Again the giants out hit out pitch out defense and out manage the dodgers. and the giants have things like pence, peavy and cain to look forward too in the future, I can’t say that for the Dodgers.
If there is the “Big Trade” l hope it comes soon.
Greinke must be thinking hmmmm how much would the giants pay me?

  15. oldbrooklynfan says:

The only thing to do is get right back in there tonight (7:15PM ET).Remember any team, even teams worse than the Dodgers can beat teams like the Giants on any given night, so don’t give up the ship yet.
    GO DODGERS!!!!!

  16. The only thing I want to know is where is the proven veteran leadership in the clubhouse and why aren’t they stepping up to get the guys out of their funk? Obviously Mattingly can’t do it. I am one discouraged Dodger fan, and unfortunately it looks like I have a lot of company ūüė¶ But like OBF said, today is a new day and the ship is not sunk yet. So – let’s go Dodgers!!!

  17. trublu4ever says:

    Frias stinks!

  18. oldbrooklynfan says:

A quick way to even the score.

  19. koufax1963 says:

Anybody hearing the giant announcers pointing out Puig not running from third to home on the 3rd out grounder ?

    • trublu4ever says:

Of course I did…..they hate him with a passion!

    • colliethec says:

Yup. If I was the Manager he’d be sitting right now. He continually does stuff like that and not only is it is bad for him to play that way but for the other guys to see it and nothing be done about it.

It would be interesting to see what Boche would of done if he was the manager – which you never will have to see because his team knows the right way to play and I think that is instilled by Boche.

You & others have mentioned the lack of leadership — I think that starts from the top. Donnie doesn’t come across as a verbal or strong leader. When I heard him get mad at the umps earlier this year he sounded silly.

An example is with the bullpen. Other than KJ closing I don’t think the players down there know their rolls. I know I sure am never sure who is coming in or when.

  20. trublu4ever says:

    Told you Frias sucks!

  21. colliethec says:

0-2 count with 2 outs and you give up a bomb. Seems like we’ve seen a lot if that lately.

  22. colliethec says:

Ok lets see if Frias can get the bunt down properly

    • trublu4ever says:

He was safe and Donnie didn’t even challenge it!

    • colliethec says:

I just knew it… I just knew he would get that bunt down properly.

This is why I think changes need to be made – how many times this year have they failed in a simple sacrifice?

I know Donnie is not the guy bunting – but he should be they guy that is demanding they get it right and figuring out a way to get them to execute properly.

Not just with bunting but their general fundamentals.

  23. trublu4ever says:

Now you take him out…..too late Donnie!

  24. griz says:

  25. oldbrooklynfan says:

Well the Giants won again and trail by just a 1/2 a game. They’ll bring out their brooms tomorrow but maybe Anderson’s the answer.

  26. koufax1963 says:

Happy Fathers Day to all, yes all! Now I know what I want for a Fathers day present, I can’t buy it, must be earned, but even a balk off today sounds good.

  27. Dodger4life says:

    Happy Fathers Day to everyone…
    P.S. I guarantee a Dodger Win today!!

  28. oldbrooklynfan says:

Just got in, been out all day, Happy Father’s day to you dads out there. Good score, so far.

  29. griz says:

Is the spell broken? I’ll be very interested to see the standings at the end of this road trip.
I was mightily irritated with Anderson after the lead off walk when we were up 5-0, but in the end he had a good outing. Minimized the damage and got his bunts down. Good job from him.

  30. oldbrooklynfan says:

This was a quiet thread, not many comments even while the team was scoring 10 runs last night. The most important thing is we won and finally beat the Giants and remained afloat in first place. Here’s hoping we keep on winning.
