The Milwaukee Brewers named Craig Counsell as their next manager after firing ex-Dodger Ron Roenicke Sunday night.
Counsell, a native of Milwaukee, is no stranger to the franchise. He spent six seasons with the Brewers (2004, 2007-11) as a versatile utilityman and most recently in the club’s front office.
Counsell has the challenge of turning around the team with the worst record in MLB, 7-18 for a .280 winning percentage.
The Dodgers bullpen, which has a scoreless streak of 26 innings, is one reason why L.A. is heading into Milwaukee with a 16-8 record (.667), second best in the National League behind the Cardinals with their .750 percentage. The only other team with a better record is the surprising Houston Astros, riding a 10 game winning streak, and possessing a .720 win rate.
Lets start Counsell’s tenure off by handing him 4-straight Brewers losses.
Sounds good to me! As I recall, we do very well in their ball park,
No Rest for the Weary

Pederson and the rest of the regulars are all in the lineup after the long game yesterday, and an overnight flight to Milwaukee.
Why oh why does Donnie insist on keeping Rollins at the top of the line-up? The line-up would be much better if he moved Rollins to 8, Dre to 2 and Grandal and Uribe up a notch.
I concur.
That would make a great offense even better. I’m guessing that he will put Puig at #2 and move Rollins down when Puig comes off the DL. But there’s no reason to wait – Ethier is swinging a potent bat right now.
Why does Dildon insist on starting Uribe when Guerrero and Turner are hot.
Dodgers recalled Daniel Coulombe from Triple A.
…also, Ryu to 60 day DL …… acquire RHP Matt West from Jays for cash.
Damn, I knew it. Ryu to the 60-day DL. Mark my words, he’ll eventually have surgery on his rotator cuff.
Sorry Beav, no Lee or Wieland yet.
Dodgers recalled LHP Daniel Coulombe from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Coulombe was sporting a strong 1.74 ERA and 16/4 K/BB ratio through 10 1/3 innings of relief this season at the Triple-A level. He should be a nice addition for LA. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/463312/dodgers-recall-daniel-coulombe-from-aaa
Dang, tru! Still all over it I see!
Great minds 🙂
Hey Outside, how are you all? I really enjoy your site, even as a Cubs fan—but a baseball fan first and foremost. I couldn’t find any contact information on here; would I be able to get your email address? It concerns advertising on your site. Thank you!
Best,

advertising? For a new Manager perhaps!
Hey is this the first time Kershaw is being caught by Grandal?
This will be the second time in six starts that Grandal will catch Kershaw.

Hi everybody, just hoping the Dodgers can do as well against the Brewers as other teams have, even though they have a new manager in Craig Counsell..
What a quick start.
Nice!
Pederson seems to be feast or famine. But I’ll take it. (lol)
Nice play by Rollins!
It put a smile on Kershaw’s face didn’t it…
Yessir!
Nice avatar D4. Bat in the shade? LOL
Thanks VL, I call that the Rally Bat!!!
.
I don’t think she’s ever let us down?
Balk….my ass!
Bullshit!! How is that a balk?
Wow. Young Joc has seven home runs in 25 games. Incredible.
That was a nice move by Donnie…Hurrying out to argue in Kershaw’s favor… He clearly stepped towards first base and made no attempt to go towards home plate!! After his ejection Mattingly expressed his disgust by saying, “Fuckin’ Horseshit!”! Which made me laugh!!
We use that term quite a bit 🙂
Especially when it comes to Donnie!
Grandal appears to be getting dialed in.
Grandal is looking good, lately.
Uribe comes through.
Offense is giving Kershaw something to work with tonight!
The only way to describe 38 pitches through 4 innings is surgical.
Doesn’t look like we’re doing much hitting tonight. I was hoping they’d thump these guys.
3 runs must make Kersh feel like he’s in heaven.
Uh, oh!
WOW Back to back triples.
WHEW!!
Kersh got out of that with minimal damage considering the way the inning started off.
Either they’re catching on to Kershaw or he’s making more mistakes this year.
Kershaw is a rookie Daddy this season…I’m gonna give him time to make a few adjustments…
He’s still getting used to Grandal too. A.J. was his main guy for a long stretch.
I guess after a while some of us expect too much from him
He’s okay…..not getting much run support when he’s out there.
What? Is it jet lag or something?
And WTF – can Rollins bat 8th for awhile? He’s useless.
Must be time for the bullpen.
Sheeeit!
That’s a warning track fly at the ravine!
Damn!
Phooey!
Brand new game.
Kersh ain’t the same pitcher this year. Good, but not his usual great.
Hatcher’s useless.
In the hole by one run.
RATS!!!
Braun stepped in dung & came out smelling like a rose! 😦
Well that sucked!
Sometimes you win…sometimes you lose.
Well it sure seemed like the offense took the night off after getting the early lead. . . . 😦
Kershaw seemed to lose focus after the balk call…Evidenced by his stepping off the rubber to go to first and the miscue on the throw.
.
3 runs the way Kershaw was cruising at the time should have been enough… but yeah, a little more support from the offense could have helped set their ace’s mind at ease.
3 runs used to be enough for Kershaw but not tonight. It seems he is giving up more extra base hits than what we are used to seeing. His control is good with regard to walks but there must be something not quite right with location.
Hershiser said at the start of the game, that he believed the key to Kershaw being successful was for him to keep the fastball down in the zone and locating the slider on the outside of the plate. Something he has struggled to do this season so far?
I think he said teams were laying off of the curve and change-up and looking for a fastball they can get the bat on.
Maybe its the curveball. He seems to have trouble with that slow one that catches the corner on right handed hitters. I have no idea and perhaps we just expect so much from him as I am sure he does of himself.
I’d bet that he figures it out soon… I still think at least as far as tonight goes he lost his focus and momentum a bit with the skeptical/bogus balk call.
One thing’s for sure, he hasn’t been as good as he use to be, this year. Whether he pulls out of this slum or not we’ll just have to wait and see.
Kershaw suffers from a lack of equal treatment. Just about any other pitcher goes 7 innings max (especially this early in the season), Greinke included, and the bullpen finishes. Kershaw seems to elicit “superman” in the eyes of Donnie and Honeycutt, and they leave him out there to dry. Playoffs revisited. A 13-inning game yesterday probably sealed Kershaw’s fate, as far as going deep into the game, but if Donnie and Rick don’t watch out, it’ll be Kershaw on the 60-day DL. It happened to Hersheiser, it can happen to Kershaw. It’s obvious he’s not pitching like an MVP. His ERA hovers near 4.
Just when I thought that Kershaw was back to his good old self again when the 7th inning ended, it all collapsed in the 8th inning.
I guess unlike you Kahli, the brass felt the same way.
Now, at least, I stand corrected.
Tough loss today. This Time Warner thing sucks… I don’t live in the LA area and so I am able to watch all the games the last 6 or so years through Extra Innings & this year doing MLB At Bat. Now that I’m in the LA area on vacation I can’t watch the Dodgers. Usually when we come down here we get it in our hotel room and they have games on at some of the places when we go to dinner. The Dodgers and the cable company really need to work things out – just amazing that there hasn’t been anything figured out…
Unacceptable!!!! Why isn’t Guerrero in there? And why are you bringing in Hatcher late in a close game… I think Dildon just cost us another win… Because, he is a freaking moron…..
Hey Guggs.. Take a note from the Brewers book… Fire Dildon. He sucks and an early shake-up just might do this team some good…
Amen!
I just don’t see that happening unless they are losing which they aren’t.
For some reason, even though we’ve been winning, Friedman isn’t very happy with what he sees.
Where did you hear that?
There was an article posted on Facebook a few days ago.
Can you blame him? Losing to the Giants didn’t help.
Maybe if Donnie would stop insisting on batting a .167 hitter in the top part of the lineup, Friedman would get off his ass.
Maybe if Donnie would stop wasting outs by asking Uribe to bunt rather than hit, Friedman would get off his ass.
Ahh, I don’t facebook.
I did not read any of the posts from Sunday’s game so I don’t know if the Uribe bunt came up. It reminded me of a game years ago when Eric Karros came up in a similar situation where a bunt would be useful but he was not asked to bunt and he made out. The question always comes up about why major leaguers cannot bunt but the fact remains most cannot, especially players that are free swingers and hit for some power. Agon tried it the other day as a means to attack the shift (a subject for another discussion) but how often is any power hitter asked to bunt in an obvious bunt situation? Uribe tried and failed but certainly some would have questioned Donnie if he did not ask for the bunt. I have no idea if Uribe knows how to bunt but I have to assume it has been a long time since he has been asked to do so in a game. Look at how many National League pitchers struggle at bunting? In fact, it amazes me when an American League pitcher playing in a NL park places a successful bunt.
Yes, we discussed it quite a bit. Man on second, nobody out, it would be nice to get him to third. But is that worth wasting an out, especially if the guy at the plate is a better hitter than he is a bunter? Uribe used to bunt quite a bit, but that was a decade ago (43 successful bunts with the White Sox, but only 3 as a G’nat and only 4 as a Dodger).
Joe Wieland is getting the start on Wednesday. Don’t toss him overboard if he doesn’t win his first start. That being said, I hope he does great and we win tomorrow!

Let the alpabet work its magic!
I like the alpha listing. It makes sense, especially since R comes after T 🙂 Actually, Rollins batting ninth is absolute genius. Why can’t Donnie come up with batting orders like this, and forget about match-ups for a while? (Ok, the question was rhetorical.)
Well, here we go.
I’m ready!
Rollins isn’t. Still trying to bunt himself aboard. It’s obvious to him that he can’t hit anymore. Won’t ever be obvious to Donnieboy.
I feel pretty confident of a win tonight with our ace pitching.
That was unusual.
The offense has been anemic on the road so far. . .
The more I listen to Charley…..the more annoying he becomes! Vinny, you have spoiled me!
Why the hell is Rollins still batting 2nd?! That’s why Mattingly sucks!!!
Dildonnie really defies logic.
Reminds me of that old commercial. “Why ask why?”
WTG JUSTIN!!!
WTG…JT.
A few more runs would be greatly appreciated.
Excuse me, could someone point me in the direction of the Don Mattingly Fan Club?
I believe it’s still in New York. It’s definitely not in L.A.!
It’s about time.
Rollins hit that like Willie Mays.
Whoa!! What’s this? The blind squirrel found a nut?
About time!
YO…ADRIAN!
It looks like they’ve found their stride.
WTG ADRIAN!!!
The offense has awakened! 🙂
Agon finally hit the ball..
Nomar and Hershiser are still talking about that HR. Geez, he hit that a mile and a quarter.
Orel thought it was 500 feet and was disappointed when they said about 474.
A monster shot.
If it was hit by a Brewer, it would have been 500.
Exactly!
Buster Olney has words of comfort to those of you who are worried about Kershaw’s start.
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/video/clip?id=12824944&ex_cid=espnapi_public
Our AAA Oklahoma City team had an interesting game last night. From http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20150505&content_id=122425810&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb&sid=milb
Oklahoma City’s Darnell Sweeney worked his leadoff at-bat to a full count before being plunked. Behind him, Austin Barnes was hit in the foot on a 2-2 pitch. In the initial lefty-lefty matchup of Misch’s game, he hit Oklahoma City third baseman Buck Britton with his first pitch. Finally, the 33-year-old drilled Chris Heisey with another first-pitch offering to force home the game’s first run.
In all, it took 13 pitches to set the dubious PCL mark.
“I’ve never seen that before,” Oklahoma City manager Damon Berryhill told NewsOK.com. “Fortunately for us nobody really got squared up for us. Everybody got grazed. It led to a big inning for us.”
With the bases loaded and a 1-0 lead, top Dodgers prospect Corey Seager singled home two runs with his first of two hits on the day.
Wow!
Outstanding outing from Zack!
Great outing for Greinke.
Looks like Joc’s strapped for hits again tonight.
Must not have had the itch 🙂
Such Joc-ularity.
~ 😉 ~
Nownow mom – don’t encourage the boy….
Wally made me do it.
Gee whiz dad, I may be guilty.. I’m not totally sure. Golly, Beav can usually get himself involved in mischief on his own… Luv you my brother….
Looks like Dre gets the Horace Horsecollar award this evening.
And, Donnie will bench him tomorrow!
No he won’t if he has an ounce of brains… Which is questionable. Every player has an off night.. You don’t overreact. Dildon probably will. He overreactes to the small stuff and underreactes to the major stuff… Like, when are you going to drop Rollins down in the order?!! Don’t use Hatcher when the game is close.. The man is clueless…
Ain’t that the truth.
Justin having quite a game. . .
Nice to be back on the winning track again! 😉
Woo-hoo!
Win Streak!!
That’s all Folks.
Nice W. Just weird after living in Norcal for years and being able to see the Dodgers on TV to now be down in the LA area and not be able to see them. I’m feeling the pain of all the Dodger fans down here!
Nice to see you Dodger Eric!
http://www.insidesocal.com/dodgers/2015/05/05/dodgers-outright-scott-baker-and-option-andy-wilkins-to-triple-a-oklahoma-city/
Like Beav said, the Scott Baker experiment is over..
http://www.insidesocal.com/dodgers/2015/05/05/joe-wieland-will-make-his-dodgers-debut-wednesday-in-milwaukee/
And, I guess we will see another one of Beav’s want to sees… I am all in favor. Let’s see what we’ve got down on the farm…
Be interesting. Wieland was getting people out in ST, but I don’t recall if he mostly faced ML or minor league hitters.
Interesting idea floating around of Zach Lee and Chris Heisey for Kazmir. I’d do it even for a rental. I’m starting to think either the FO thinks Lee is very hitable in the majors, or he’s out of favor for being one of Ned’s men.
I’m also hearing rumors of one less 3rd basemen ….. possibly for Cueto…..have you heard anything like this?
Rosenthal keeps floating these rumors out there.
Heard it. Probably won’t happen soon. Could happen closer to the trade deadline. Will probably take more than Uribe or Guerrero to get Cueto. Would likely require us to give up a prospect or two (somebody not named Seager or Urias).
Would we like a rotation that includes Kershaw, Greinke, and Cueto? You betcha, especially going into the postseason. I guess I will start rooting for Reds losses in May and June.
So Rollins hit a home run yesterday. He was still only one for five, and he raised his average from .167 to .168. Small sample size? I think not, not after 26 games. After a full month of data, we can easily see that he’s just not getting on base. The offense would produce even better if Donnie would just take him out of the top of the order. One less plate appearance per game. Somebody else that can get on base ahead of Kendrick and Gonzalez.
Move Rollins down to the eight spot. Let Ethier take the #2 spot, at least until Puig comes back to fill that #2 spot.

Like Scotty in there today.
Guerrero has gone cold.
Nice to see Donnie still has Rollins up where he can make 4-5 outs a night.
Yup. The “R” in Rollins stands for “Rally Killer”
Good to see the Giants finally lost today.
Ryu rehab in reverse – fastball is 82 mph.
Hard to get the offense started when #2 is an automatic out.
Not a good start for Wieland.
Well…..F**K!
In fact a very bad start.
Wieland is making McCarthy look like a ground-ball pitcher!!
Good news….it’s only the 1st inning……Bad news…..it could get, if he doesn’t settle down, could get much worse!
Prepare yourself for much worse…
UPHILL.
We’ll take that run.
Looks like Wieland isn’t the answer.
NEXT!!!
Like the Soup Nazi……No place for you….NEXT! 🙂
Wish we could rally and win this…..I think we are going with a righty lineup tomorrow ……Wieland is going back and Heisey (don’t know if I spelled it right) is with the team and will be activated tomorrow.
WTG JOC!!
Feast or famine. . .
Kid Pederson either strikes out or hits a HR, feast or famine, but I’ll take it.
Gee whiz Donnie! That IBB worked out well didn’t it?
Things go from bad to worse.
Cranial rectal inversion strikes once again.
Great stretch by AGon.
Joc can sure go get them. eh?
Charley doesn’t even know what he’s watching! Not my favorite!
Charley certainly has trouble with the deep fly-ball…I hope he doesn’t drive at night…
True! He can ride with the homeplate umpire 🙂
The ump can’t see close-up. Reminds me of when I worked at a golf course and began my day in the dark raking all the sand traps by hand. My partner was darn near blind and I’m darn near deaf…and the sprinkler guy would get ahead of us…The blind guy would say I hear a sprinkler…I’d say where it’s too dark to see the dang thing…splash-splash-splash-splash…never mind! Be on the look-out for the next one!! As the sun came up, I could see the sprinkler guy up ahead in the fairway just cracking up!!
Nuke Santos!
The Brewers do better with two out and nobody on..
Think Ryu’s going to be done for the year also. The FO better go out and get some starters that aren’t lame to begin with.
Yep…an 82 mph fastball isn’t going to work!
WTF is up with all these walks?
It’s not all us…the umpire blows!
He won’t call a knee high or a corner strike!
Except, of course, when it’s Dre or SVS!
RALLY BAT TIME!!
1 down…….3 to go for the tie!
Wow…Joc again!
A lot more feat than famine from Joc tonight.
WOW!!
Too bad no one was on base for Joc. . 😦
Man! Y’all are correct, they need to do something different with Rollins on offense…sooner, not later!
Let’s just hope when Puig is back that Kendrick bat 2nd, Puig 3rd and Rollins 8th.
Really why give an extra AB or two night in and night out to a guy that can’t even hit his weight?
That’s why Donnie MUST GO!
Among a huge list of other reasons… The main one being, he is inept and doesn’t have a clue… He is basically managing like his mentor, Joe Torre… He is managing like he has the 90’s Yankees… Dildon just doesn’t adapt well.
Yep Beav, I see where your boy Rollins had another 0 fer.. LOL!!
So how low does the BA go before Dildon gets a clue and drops Rollins down in the batting order. .150. .125. .100.
Bad thing is, he should have already made that move.. Dildon just doesn’t have what it takes… He is clueless and spineless..
Oh well. The best they can hope for is a split in this series now. 😦
5 run first too much to over come. Tomorrow’s another day.
Dang I can’t believe I miss a Greinke bat flip sigh.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/with-yasiel-puig-out–zack-greinke-will-handle-all-of-the-dodgers–bat-flips-041058535.html
Rats!! Pathetic offensive performance.. 0 for 7 RISP. And, against a very mediocre pitcher…
Totally Unacceptable…
Lineup for today: 10:40 a.m. Pacific Time
Pederson, CF
Grandal, C
Kendrick, 2B
Gonzalez, 1B
Guerrero, LF
Ethier, RF
Uribe, 3B
Hernandez, SS
Frias, P
I don’t know where you got this lineup from, but thanks a lot Tru.
So I see that it’s okay to have the shortstop bat eighth when his name is Kike Hernandez, but not for Rollins, the .162 hitter.
Amazing, isn’t it?!
grandal at #2, oh boy Donnie, just rolling the bones aren’t you?
Grandal has extra base hits in each of his last four games, going 8-for-13 in those games. Donnie putting the hot hand up there? That’s not his usual style. Ethier has been hot all year. Just put Ethier at #2 and leave him there.
Also, Joc is more of a #5, given his K’s and HR’s. When Puig comes back, how about:
Puig rf
Ethier lf
Gonzalez 1b
Kendrick 2b
Pederson cf
Grandal c
Uribe/Turner 3b
Rollins ss
pitcher
That would give Joc some ducks on the pond. The only problem is that Puig would have to learn how to steal some bases.
Every once in a while it seemed like somebody, from the team, is reading this blog. Every once in a while, that is. (lol)
Maybe that’s Ned’s job, which would explain two things:
1) What the heck does Ned do all day?
2) Why the Dodgers don’t implement our suggestions more often. I think Ned believes we don’t like him very much. 🙂
You can’t blame him, for thinking that way.
Hey what do you know? I have Charlie, Nomar & Orel today.
Oh and Allana Rizzo.
Now they need four, but at home only one – Vinny!
I notice that the Brewers do very well after the first two hitters in the inning fail to get on.
Alex goes boom!
ALEX evens it up at 1.
Nice to see Guerrero’s HR bat is back!
The potato & egg man delivering the eggs.
Uribe…no bueno!
That rally would have yielded only one run if Rollins was at #2 to make the out. Maybe even a rally-killing double play.
We’re going to need more runs today. Miller Park is a band box.
Maybe Joc will hit one in his next AB.
Jeez!
Lind sends one out of the band box, cuts our lead in half.
Lind makes it a one run game again.
New game.
3-3: Time to take Frias out???
It looks like they got Frias’ number.
Get him out of there.
Key play by Uribe.
That inning was rough, frias seemed to lose it, then regained it, but the lead evaporated, could of been worse
I never thougth Frias would come out of that 4th inning so cheaply. Only two runs.
Grandal at #2 is on base all three times today. I hope Donnie is paying attention.
He never does!
Joe Torre taught him how to sleep standing up.
Scooter Gennett has a nice middle infielder’s name.
YAY…DRE!
Triple for ‘DRE.
Every Day Dre! You bet! Get this guy into the #2 spot STAT!
WTG…Uribe.
that is the Uribe I like
That’s the way, uh-huh, uh-huh, we like it!
Joc getting a little respect – ROY!
Boy, what a difference in Grandal this past week! Keep it up!!!
Yes Yasmani!
That’s what a #2 hitter is supposed to do!
Hello!!! Donnie!!! Anybody in there?
I think given the way Rollins is “hitting” and given we’re heading into Coors, I’d stick Little Pedro at short all three games.
But, Donnie is stuck on Rollins. I think we are going to be rained out all 3 games.
At least it keeps Rollins on the bench. : )
True! 🙂
Fresh bullpen arms today: Baez, Liberatore, Hatcher, Paco, Yimi
gotta say Im giving grandal some kudos, he is hitting. And AG taking that walk to start theis inning was good stuff, along with DRE!! Hooray!
Uribe took a shot at a 3-0 pitch, looking to launch one.
Another run would be nice….
Here comes Joc.
More famine.
Joc may turn out to be a left-handed Dave Kingman.
GRANDAL is RED hot.
Wow…Grandal is on fire!
Grandal en fuego!
I’m wondering what Grandal has been eating lately. . .
Steak and Eggs!
Grandal’s bat has definitely awoken from its slumbers!
Three runs >> one run!
Liberatore must’ve been under orders not to swing.
Why let Liberatore hit if you’re not going to leave him in the game?
And then bring in Santos?
This seems to be Donnie’s M.O. this year, letting the relievers hit for themselves. I don’t understand him at all. At least sometimes, his bench is rather thin. But today, he’s still got SVS, AJEllis, and…wait for it….Rollins on the bench.
There’s your answer – leave Rollins on the bench!
Would make sense in a tight game, but not a blowout. Its the tight games where he usually uses up his entire bench. Everything is opposite of common sense with this asshole.
It started with McCourt, who hired Ned, who hired Joe, who hired Donnie. They’ve all got one thing in common – Cranial Rectal Inversion!
I trust Friedman is keeping an eye on the DonnieBoy situation.
Pederson hit a single.
Will wonders never cease? I thought he was all homers, walks, and strikeouts.
Holy shiit! What is with Yaz?!
Son of a Bitch!
Grandal! WOW!
That’s just GRAND.
WOW!!
Grandal is having a good week today!
Incredible.
4-for-4, 2 homers, 2 singles, 2 walks, 3 runs scored, 8 RBI’s
What a game!
That Grandal trade is looking better!
NIce seeing Broxton pitch again!
This would be a tight game if Rollins was hitting 2nd.
10 run lead enough for Santos?
Guess so.
Joc Pedersen may be the best thing that ever happened to Puig. Pedersen can now play the roll of young phenom…and Puig can just r-e-l-a-x. Pedersen will cool, he may even eventually go into a tailspin, but his future as a star looks like a lock. Now if Puig can just quit going 100 mph and slow down a bit, let the game come to him, the Dodgers are sitting pretty in the outfield for a very long time.
Awesome win today!
Well the Dodgers had their hitting shoes on today, especially Yasmani.
Very insightful, Kahli…not sure puig can go 3/4 speed
good game today, off to coors with a rested BP, we need it.
what a game by Grandal! for those on the east coast it party Time!
I just watched Urias pitch in Tulsa…and thought to myself! Why Tulsa??? I know they’re concerned with his age and he may need a bit more seasoning on how to put it all together. But, “Boy, Oh, Boy”! Does that kid have electric stuff!!
I was a bit unsure of Joc when the season started. Even with all the strikeouts, he does seem to have a good eye and his defense is terrific. Interesting, with all the criticism of Ned and his ability to evaluate talent, he did everything he could to keep Pederson. Yes, as Kahli says Joc will have his ups and downs and hopefully he is a better hitter than Kingman and others who either hit the ball a mile or they don’t hit it at all. It will be interesting to see how he handles pitchers the second and third time around as the season progresses.
As far as Puig goes, I mentioned today to my wife it will be interesting to see how the Dodgers handle his return. If Crawford is still out, will the Dodgers give Ethier time in left field, a position he does not play as well as right? And when Crawford returns?
On the broadcast today there was talk about all the roster moves the Dodgers have made so far this season. One would think they were struggling but it all has to do with injuries and the schedule. And making good use of the option rules, not that I understand those at all. Some of the roster move results have been good, some not so good. We are told that the players understand their roles in these moves and when they will be coming up and going back down. This cannot be an easy adjustment for the players so I think they deserve a lot of credit for how they have handled things. Just part of the process for a young player.
I was getting stoked to see the games this weekend on the Rockies station, but the storm systems moving through our region may prevent the games being played for the next couple of days. Rain and snow predicted for Denver. That should keep Pug off the field for a couple of more days, in Denver at least. You’d think they’d keep him off of a wet outfield.
Griz, Puig is rehabbing with Rancho Cucamonga. He was the DH last night. He went 0-4 with 2 K’s.
I hate Coors Field. So, I’m hoping all three games get cancelled.
I don’t know about anybody else, but I found myself with a mancrush on Yasmani Grandal, yesterday evening. I just couldn’t get over the game he had. I kept repeating his name over and over in my head.
I can understand that. I went a different direction. Yasmani’s bat has come alive, after a slow start to 2015. Now we can add his name to the other offensive powerhouses: Grandal, A-Gon, Joc, Kendrick, Puig, and dare I say Ethier.
That gives us six really good weapons on offense, which proves out the discussion in the off season of “extending the lineup”. Add some other potent pieces like SVS and Turner. When Seager gets to the Dodgers in late 2015 or early 2016, this offense will be nearly unstoppable.
Thanx, Dodger4.

Crash24 should dare and say Ethier. There’s nobody I’d like to see succeed more than him. A strong line up for sure.
