I hope the boys are wearing their long johns tonight.

Somehow I don’t see a world championship team when your catchers are Drew Butera and Miguel Olivo.

    • Dodger4life says:

      Who goes when A.J. returns?

    • Olivo is a much better hitter than FedEx and has 10 years in the majors , 240BA and averages almost 15 HRs a year. That probably wasn’t the reason he was brought up because it was in his contract to do so or lose him to free agency but I think it was a good move.

      • Dodger4life says:

They still had until June 1st to add him… We play the Marlins next and he knows them well. He has been hitting in AAA and clearly is the best bat of the three, Butera, Fed-Ex and himself. Defensively, I’m not sure… But with 10 years in the majors I don’t think he can be sent down without consent. Butera is out of options as well. The salary of the two is about the same, and I think guaranteed since they were picked up?

Crawford batting 9th…tells me all I need to know. But the funny part is Ethier at DH. How wonderful to have Crawford’s vast defensive tools in LF over Ethier’s?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Just in case you missed it. Tonight’s game is free on MLB.tv

  5. Well here we go… Hi folks.

  6. enchantedbeaver says:

The usual pathetic. At least Gordon saw a few pitches. Puig and Hanley must have hot dates.

  7. trublu4ever says:

Now that I see how damp and cold it is, I’m glad CC is playing…I feel a hammy pull coming tonight 🙂 Sorry….it’s my mood tonight!

  8. enchantedbeaver says:

Way to go Andre. $85M well spent.

    (sorry Tru)

  9. Have to get that run back.

  10. We got that run in, waytogo Hanley and great slide by Butera……………Nice hit by A.Gon for another run.

  11. Ethier came close to getting a hit. A big hit.

  12. messagebear says:

Ethier really SUCKS. Of course, Crawford SUCKS slightly worse. Neither of them should even be playing on the Dodgers. How much worse could either VanSlyke or Pederson do, if we put either one in the regular lineup. Let’s just cut this outfield dilemma crap – we don’t have an excess outfielder problem. We have a pure CRAP outfielder problem.

    • enchantedbeaver says:

And we’ll continue to have an outfielder problem for years because with those contracts, three of them are untradeable, and of course Donnie’s an idiot of the first magnitude and can’t just sit the worst one.

  13. enchantedbeaver says:

How is it that Gonzales has the reputation as being a good defensive first baseman? I’ve never been impressed by his work.

  14. enchantedbeaver says:

How is it that I can get up to go take a leak and get a drink right after Greinke gets the last out, and before I can get back the Dodgers have already batted and are back on the field?

  15. crash24now says:

I thought Puig was supposed to be fast. He only went from first to third on Kemp’s two-out single 😦

  16. trublu4ever says:

    There’s my boy 🙂

  17. enchantedbeaver says:

    About time.

  18. Ethier f i n a l l y comes through. cheese.

  19. messagebear says:

I’m still not taking back what I said, Andre!
    And Crawford is beyond hope!

  20. Awright UUUUUUribe.

  21. crash24now says:

Gotta love the 2013-2014 version of Uribe.

  22. crash24now says:

Nice pitching job by Greinke tonight. But now, can the bullpen finish the job?

  23. messagebear says:

Oh yes, Uribe is definitely out to take Ned for another 3 – years that is.

  24. Wooo What a break!!!!.

  25. trublu4ever says:

    Whew!

  26. Is it me, Or do the Dodgers look a lot colder?

  27. Cross your fingers.

  28. Uncross your fingers,.the beard did good.

  29. Butera put some good wood on the ball tonight.

  30. enchantedbeaver says:

Only Donnie could blow through the bullpen in a game like this.

  31. Plouffe only swung at strikes.

  32. trublu4ever says:

Always have to make it interesting. But, a win is a win.

  33. I’m very happy we won the opener, it makes be more comfortable for tomorrow’s twin bill.
    That was Jansen’s 10th save.

  34. kahliforni says:

    K I N G S ! ! !

Oh yeah…and the Dodgers. They have this thing called TV and I watched the Kings become a part of history. Hope to see the Dodgers again someday. Front office seems really concerned about the snafu, huh?

  35. Congratulations to our Boys in Blue for attaining their 10,000th win last night.
