  1. trublu4ever says:

I knew Kennedy would be in there…one freaking hit yesterday and he is gold to Donnie!

  2. See Hairston’s going on the DL. Herrara recalled.

Puig’s also been promoted to Cucamonga.

  3. trublu4ever says:

Also, we have a gazillion infielders and, nobody (except Rivera) in case we need an outfielder. Another brilliant move!

  4. lbirken says:

I also wonder what the Dodgers will do with Dee once he is able to play. At the moment they really do not need him unless they can convince Ramirez to go back to third base. If Dee had better offensive numbers this might make more sense and be an easier sell. My guess is the Dodgers will delay this decision for as long as possible.

  5. trublu4ever says:

Second inning and, already one bad call.

  6. crash24now says:

    Way to go, Victorino!

  7. Still say it was a mistake to sign Andre long term. The guy hasn’t his a HR for a month, and $85M is a lot of money wasted on a doubles hitter. Only possible use I can see Dre being is if they could move him to 1B. At least we’re used to not getting any production out of that position.

  8. trublu4ever says:

    Uh, oh….here goes Harang!

  9. trublu4ever says:

I think we should bring Fife back!

  10. DodgerZona says:

    way to go Shane

  11. trublu4ever says:

Let’s see if Harang can hold the lead this time.

  12. trublu4ever says:

Only a single, Enchanted, but I’ll take it…he is warming up 🙂

  13. trublu4ever says:

Nice to see our future 3rd baseman, Headley was player of the week.

  14. trublu4ever says:

Oh, boy, Uribe gets to bat!

  15. trublu4ever says:

I’d say Juan Cruz was a tad miffed! 🙂

  16. trublu4ever says:

What a genius Donnie is….putting Rivera in for Loney 😉

  17. trublu4ever says:

    Damn, Belli!

  18. 32and53fan says:

The game is getting too close for comfort.

  19. trublu4ever says:

See….told you….Cruz should have hit last inning! Bad move Donnie!

  20. trublu4ever says:

Sheeeit…..Mark, all we needed was a fly ball!

  21. trublu4ever says:

    Damn, that inning sucked!

  22. trublu4ever says:

    Okay, Kenley…2 more outs.

  23. vl4eccjr says:

    Thank you Kenley!

  24. nellyjune says:

    Yeah Dodgers!! Woo Hoo!

  25. DodgerZona says:

to close for me but glad they pulled that one out…whew

  26. DodgerZona says:

Gnats getting smoked by the Nats lol…14-0

  27. It’s 14-2, top of the 9th, and the Nats may be ready to score again. It’s SO nice to be tied – and maybe tomorrow in first place! Go Dodgers!!

    • trublu4ever says:

I enjoyed every moment of this game! Listening to Miller and Krap (poor Krud couldn’t be there) trying to figure what the hell was happening…………..priceless!

  28. trublu4ever says:

    Freaking unbelievable…….and, batting 2nd, playing 3rd, for your L.A. Dodgers….Juan (can’t-hit-worth-a-shit) Uribe!

  29. koufax1963 says:

Oh come on, its Yawn No RBIs showcase, he is trying to be traded. Hey he has a .471 BA vs correia, this is his chance, his weight for Dodgers dogs to a willing team. Deal!

  30. koufax1963 says:

Actually its a real shame that we put Yawn in when Bilz is pitching so well lately, make me eat my words Yawn, but then Donnie will play him more, yikes

  31. Hope the Nats beat the crap out of the Gnats again tonight!!

    • trublu4ever says:

I hope the pretty decent Billz shows up for us tonight. I also hope Uribe pulls a hammie……oh, that can’t happen…you have to be running…..perhaps, he will swing so hard he will pull something else. God, I’m sorry, can’t stand him being in the lineup! Was hoping, if Donnie needed to give Mark a day off, he’d play Elian and Cruz.

  32. grizzy says:

Looks like Donny is trying to get Uribe something he can hit by batting him second. Hope it works.?.?.?.

  33. trublu4ever says:

    Ugh….I hate rain delays.

  34. trublu4ever says:

    Uribe….1st AB….2 (1 foul, fly out)

  35. trublu4ever says:

    Cruz is the man!

  36. trublu4ever says:

    Wow….the Pirates’ announcers are pathetic!

  37. trublu4ever says:

Okay, Uribe…here’s your chance for a rbi.

  38. trublu4ever says:

Come on Chad…you have 2 outs….get it done….don’t cave now!

  39. trublu4ever says:

Note to Donnie……Luis Cruz must play everyday….screw Uribe!

  40. vl4eccjr says:

Cruz is a keeper! He may not hit for much of an average, but his hits are clutch & timely.

  41. trublu4ever says:

    Uribe…..5….BA .188 before this at-bat.

    • vl4eccjr says:

The only thing I can figure is, Uribum must have some incriminating photos of Ned in some compromising conditions (I’m trying to be polite).

  42. vl4eccjr says:

Uribe is such a huge waste of a spot on the roster. . .

  43. trublu4ever says:

Enchanted…..I meant Cruz would be our hottest hitter 🙂

  44. Cruz is the man and cruising again!

  45. vl4eccjr says:

This is becoming the Cruz show! I’m with you tru. He needs to be in the line up more often.

  46. trublu4ever says:

    8

  47. trublu4ever says:

By the way….who is that bearded guy on the mound for us? 😉

  48. trublu4ever says:

Wow…Cruz’s average is up to .274….nice!

  49. trublu4ever says:

    Yawn is grinding this AB…..11 total, I believe…..he drew a walk 😉

  50. trublu4ever says:

    LOL….Pirates are losing it….however…..Dre with 2 rbis!

  51. Wow! The Pirates sure blew that one. But glad that Dre got his hit!!

  52. trublu4ever says:

    Holy shit….11 runs!

  53. trublu4ever says:

Nice Gold Glove worthy catch Dre !

  54. trublu4ever says:

    Fantastic game guys…..I love L.A.!

  55. Excellent – we win again!!

  56. nellyjune says:

Way to go Dodgers! It’s nice when everyone contributes to the hitting (minus Yawn), and it’s even better to see good Chad! Yeah! 🙂

  57. Hey Tru you called it – Uribe was able to make contact 8+ times. I’m shocked the pitchers were able to find his bat that many times.

  58. koufax1963 says:

Uribe! Work that walk. So important to that inning. I think he is worth 200 pounds of dodgers dogs. Wow! Perhaps the real team will come to the field wednesday.

  59. grizzy says:

What do you think? Maybe Billz grew a pair along with his beard.
    *
I haven’t been able to give up completely on Uribe, for reasons I can’t explain, but we’ve come to the part of the season where it’s fish or cut bait. Cruz is hot and he needs to play and Uribe needs to go. Whether it’s the DL or just plain DFA, we need the roster spot.

  60. messagebear says:

Do we even have a batting coach? I know Mickey Hatcher was given a big job in the Front Office, but can we not get somebody to work with Uribe? I know he may be past hope; otherwise, he wouldn’t have caught Ned’s eye for 21 BIG ONES.

Anyway, let’s FIRE THE BATTING COACH, whoever that is.
Oh, and Ned, and Donnie, and Honeybutts too.

  61. trublu4ever says:

Wow…Melky Cabrera suspended 50 games for…yes, you know what! 😉

  62. messagebear says:

Why oh why couldn’t that happen to Uribe. Let’s feed him a generous amount of poppy seeds – you’d think he’d eat just about anything.

    • Sad thing is bear, we shouldn’t have to. He should’ve been DFA’d weeks ago.

The only reason I can come up with for keeping him is that they don’t want him to go back to the Gints and have him burn us somewhere down the road.

  63. trublu4ever says:

Pablo Sandoval suspended 50 games…..testing positive for bacon! 😉

  64. crash24now says:

So…..how come Ned couldn’t land King Felix last month?

  65. trublu4ever says:

Nats almost blew it but, they beat the Gnats! Let’s go Dodgers!!!!!

  66. trublu4ever says:

Glad to see my boy, Andre, heating up.

  67. trublu4ever says:

I thought Lyons & Collins were bad….but, these guys from Pittsburgh really, really suck!

  68. trublu4ever says:

Dre…2 for 2 off a leftie….just singles but, the bomb is coming!

  69. trublu4ever says:

Wow….Kersh…2 for 2….he can be our new pinch hitter 😉

  70. trublu4ever says:

Come on Matty…your turn…bring these two home.

  71. vl4eccjr says:

Wandy always seemed to do better against the Dodgers in a Astro uniform.

  72. trublu4ever says:

Cruz is doing a fine job with the glove!

  73. vl4eccjr says:

Does anybody else think Melky may have gotten Barry’s old locker in the Vagiants club house? LOL

  74. trublu4ever says:

    Hey Beav……Dre 3 – 4. 😉

  75. nedisajerk says:

Loney PH for Rivera but Donny didn’t want to PH for Kennedy with a lefty up. I guess he would’ve done it if Herrera didn’t arrive late.

  76. trublu4ever says:

Wow….Loney a pinch hit single and rbi!

  77. trublu4ever says:

Way to go Cruz! Good thing the RF can’t play the position!

  78. trublu4ever says:

    Good defense boys!

  79. trublu4ever says:

Boy Pittsburgh has some ugly-ass fans (and, they always sit up close)….not nearly as good looking as our Dodger fans!

    • vl4eccjr says:

Just another reason to refer to it as Shittsburgh. The only thing that town has going for it is the Primanti sandwich!

  80. koufax1963 says:

Wow, another win, weird how 5 got 3hits, scored, but no RBIs, kemp one hits , 3 RBIs, love this team, and when K is pitching well, just great! Giants lose, more than the game, BYE Melkman. Shots around!

  81. trublu4ever says:

    Come on League…get this over!

  82. trublu4ever says:

Nice……now, let’s do the sweep tomorrow!

  83. nellyjune says:

Way to go Dodgers! First place ice cream!

  84. It’s uncanny, When I went into the hospital for my surgery, the Dodgers were in first place. After it they fell out of it and the Giants took over. Now that I’ve fully recovered the Dodgers are back in first place. I just hope I and the team stay healthy from here on out.

  85. crash24now says:

    Uh-oh. Kennedy in, Cruz out.

  86. koufax1963 says:

And circle keeps spinning, this chapter of OTD began with complaints about kennedy starting. Donnie when are you going to wake up, play the best team you can, especially vs. a good pitcher like burnett.

  87. trublu4ever says:

    That 3rd strike on Mark…BS!

  88. koufax1963 says:

Blanton has got to throw strikes, burnett does. Oh and the gnat fans around here are quiet. Got Melk? Got Burned!

  89. koufax1963 says:

Ok I take that back, Blanton shouldnt throw strikes. That might be the game there.

  90. Sure glad we picked up Blanton for the stretch run… He’s actually got me hoping Lilly comes back.

  91. koufax1963 says:

why was kemp ejected? What did he do/say? oh man

    • trublu4ever says:

The home plate umpire really sucks and, Matty had enough of his inefficiency!

      • koufax1963 says:

Oh so Matty mouthed off, just great, takes himself out of the game, and donnie backed him up publically, and he got tossed, so maybe there is a manager that pick up this mess and get win, that would be cruz in at 3rd. Thanks tru for the update, cant see the game from my location

  92. crash24now says:

Freaking Garrett Jones – already before today, his OPS against the Dodgers this year was 1.171

  93. lbirken says:

Sorry, I didn’t see it but I don’t care how upset Matt gets, he needs to keep his cool and stay in the game. Let the manager take the heat for this sort of stuff before the player gets ejected.

  94. vl4eccjr says:

    WTG Hanley!!

  95. koufax1963 says:

So glad ethier ran out that grounder, and even happier that Hanley cleared the bases so J LO wouldnt come up in a possible, oops probable DP.

  96. crash24now says:

    Nice one, HanRam!

  97. koufax1963 says:

They just had the video of the ejections, a couple of people were pretty upset, and the way the low pitches are not being called strikes, I understand, don’t excuse

  98. koufax1963 says:

Um, if kemp were in center I doubt barajas would of scored. Thanks Matt mouth

  99. crash24now says:

Come on Donnie, you’ve got a bullpen. Use it!

  100. koufax1963 says:

again! Blanton has got to go, his pitch count was too high.Damn

  101. crash24now says:

    Freaking Garrett Jones

  102. vl4eccjr says:

    Jeez!
Blanton blows! When’s Lilly coming back?

  103. vl4eccjr says:

This tyrannical umpire bullshit has got to stop!! These imbeciles are on a power trip.

    • trublu4ever says:

Today is by far the worst! MLB should really investigate the whole bunch of them.

      • vl4eccjr says:

There is no need for an umpire that’s under scrutiny for controversial calls to instigate conflict. They are supposed to be above that kind of behaviour.

  104. crash24now says:

Donnie’s too slow with the hook today.

  105. And they sent down Fife why? Blanton blows.

    • For some reason, I don’t believe that Blanton wants to be a Dodger.

    • lbirken says:

The reason Vin gives for a pitcher such as Blanton is because he has such great control and most of his pitches are around the plate. Far be it from me to challenge Vin but I have never understood that argument.

      • trublu4ever says:

Actually, Blanton’s numbers might not have been so bad if the ump would have given him a few of the close pitches……Burnett got the calls….Blanton did not.

  106. trublu4ever says:

    Wow….what hustle by Mark! Nice!!!

  107. koufax1963 says:

I don’t know, didnt really like the rivera for herrera switch, I thought herrera would deliver in the last inning, rivera does get a chance to swing the bat. I understand the power numbers, but my gut check has rivera saved for another PH another inning

  108. kahliforni says:

Granted Jim Mora is not Knute Rockne, but he booted his UCLA Bruins off the field last night for lack of focus and discipline, stemming from hot-head skirmishes during practice. So just what kind of grip exactly does Mattingley have on this team? Last time I looked a “players’ manager” was sent packing as the boys drank beer and ate chicken during games. For a team that hasn’t won anything since 1988 I woud expect a bit tougher hand from the manager. Kirk Gibson must be laughing at the Dodgers all the way from Arizona…

Oh, and I agree, I’ll take Fife over Blahhhhhhhh-nton.

  109. trublu4ever says:

    WTF Wright!

  110. koufax1963 says:

If wright comes in, the dodgers are not playing for the win, merely to eat up innings, the dodgers have shown they can come back, but innings are running out, now if they would have followed guerra with league, choate, perhaps……..and I think back to kemp and he would of been up with the bases loaded last inning. hmmm strike this game. too bad a sweep would of been nice. Still in first alone

  111. grizzy says:

    Say it aint so, Joe.

  112. koufax1963 says:

wow Loney didnt hit in to a DP, and now Yaaaawwnnnnn

  113. koufax1963 says:

yawn might have walked, but NOOOOO!

  114. koufax1963 says:

I hope kemp thinks about his behavior, this game tilted on his mouth. Off to Hotlanta

  115. lbirken says:

Look at the positive. Not that long ago this team might have not had a hit let alone score a run after the third inning. This was not a good day but certainly not a disaster as long as the offense keeps up the pressure. And I agree, Kemp has to learn to keep his cool.

  116. Reports are that Kemp got tossed for cheering on Dre, “let’s go Dre” after the plate umpire said he didn’t want to hear anything more from the dugout. WTF kind of bullshit is that? Why can’t umpires get disciplined and/or fired for bush league crap like that? How can you toss somebody for cheering on a teammate? I’d be all over Bud’s wrinkled old ass about this (in public.) Union or no, the umpiring in this league has got to be upgraded. I don’t think 3/4 of them even know what a strike zone is.

    • trublu4ever says:

I heard the same thing and I’m pissed! You are right, Selig needs to handle this!

      • trublu4ever says:

…..also, why don’t they discipline the umps for ganging up on Donnie! They had him completely surrounded and were very, very abusive!

        • Piss poor crew all the way around. Most all of these umpiring crews now think they need to leave their imprint on the game. I see Donnie wants to take this incident to the league. I hope he does. Unfortunately no balls Bud won’t do a damn thing about it.

          • trublu4ever says:

Perhaps, Donnie’s buddy, Joe Torre will. Doesn’t he have a role concerning the umpires?

  117. messagebear says:

We’re approaching the point where Uribe could have a batting average half his weight – has that ever been done in the major leagues by a non-pitcher? I don’t know what the fastest way would be to achieve that – have Uribe bat more, or eat more? I know we don’t have a batting coach; how about a diet coach?

  118. lbirken says:

I guess we owe Matt kemp an apology if the account of his ejection in the newspaper is correct. From what was reported, he did not do anything but was a victim of an inpatient umpire.

  119. messagebear says:

The next time that the umpires’ labor contract expires, there needs to be a work quality assessment, and half the existing guys need to be canned. I’m sure there are plenty of replacements available from the minor leagues if not elsewhere. If the remaining umpires in the union don’t like that, let’s fire them too and replace everybody. Remember when that happened with the Air Traffic Conrollers? As I can see, all the planes, and more, are still flying.

There, I said it, and never the F word was used, tempted as I was considering these are the umpires we’re talking about.

  120. Hi Everybody
After these ejections yesterday I was mad at Kemp for getting himself kicked out of the game. I began to get more and more mad at him as this high scoring game went on. I don’t normally go along with these (SHW) should have won games but to go through them with your best power hitter sitting in the clubhouse, it really pissed me off. I’d call it a(C could HW) more than a SHW.
But if it is true that Kemp was thrown out for just rooting for Ethier than I’d have to go along with ~Messagebear~ and say something has to be done about the temper of these umpires.
