Donnie is loading the lineup with righties…….Rockies don’t leave a pitcher in for more than 50 – 60 pitches.

  2. I just knew it was too good to be true. We had (almost) the same lineup for two games in a row, and now this. Yeah, it’s okay if Dre is out – he hasn’t been hitting all that well lately, so a day off may help. But still . . . . Rivera behind Ramirez – me no like!

  3. lbirken says:

Just saw the news about Gwynn and I must say this moves surprises me because this just is not the type of move we are used to with the Dodgers. While Sands has done little to warrant a promotion, poor TGR can’t help the fact that his talents as a late inning replacement are not really needed now, and the fact he has no power and has looked just awful at the plate since getting a key pinch hit against the Cardinals works against him as well. My guess is the Dodgers hope Sands provides more power potential off the bench.

And what to do about Dee? Once again, his hitting woes and unfortunate injury may work against him as well if the Dodgers start to win with Ramirez at short and Hairston/Cruz at third. Can Cruz finish the season strong and be a legitimate contender for third base or a utility role next season? We will have to see about that but I am o.k. with keeping James if third base can be significantly upgraded.

  4. trublu4ever says:

Okay…I put my voodoo hex on the Dbacks and they lost…..now, before our game, working on the Gnats (losing 2 – 1)……come on Dodgers let’s do this!

  5. trublu4ever says:

Come on Cappy…it’s the freakin’ Rockies!

  6. enchantedbeaver says:

Cupaguano is now the pitcher I figured he was. Glad we got him and Harang next year too.

    • trublu4ever says:

Maybe not….Kasten won’t hang on to dead wood, no matter the cost. We shall see, especially with Uribe.

      • enchantedbeaver says:

        Let’s hope!

        • trublu4ever says:

Since I found out we made a real effort to acquire Adrian Gonzalez from the Red Sox before the trade deadline…I really think Kasten & crew will be good owners in the years to come.

  7. enchantedbeaver says:

Why is Rivera still playing? He’s every bit as worthless as Abreu was.

  8. trublu4ever says:

Good grief, Cappy….I know we will score runs but, don’t put us in a deeper hole!

  9. enchantedbeaver says:

Sure glad Cup-o-crap is turning up his game for the stretch run. He hasn’t been worth a shit since the all-star break.

  10. trublu4ever says:

Damn, Matty! A DP!! Rivera, yes, you no!

  11. trublu4ever says:

Another wasted opportunity…….See, Donnie, Dre should have been in there!

  12. enchantedbeaver says:

Pathetic. Time to go watch TV.

  13. DodgerZona says:

Seem’s like we don’t get going till the 6th or 7th inning lol…Come on dammit

  14. DodgerZona says:

    What do u know a 1,2,3 inning

  15. trublu4ever says:

WTF are you doing Rivera! DFA his ass!

  16. DodgerZona says:

    Rivera sucks

  17. trublu4ever says:

We are thinking alike, dodgerzona 😉

  18. DodgerZona says:

Yes Tru…..Rivera and Uribum need to go

  19. DodgerZona says:

    YAY more LOB

    • trublu4ever says:

Eventually, we will score them…….next inning, I’m guessing. That is, unless Cappy gives them another 2 runs.

  20. DodgerZona says:

I’ll be shocked if we win this game tonight…Unreal

  21. DodgerZona says:

    Ace Pomeranz

  22. DodgerZona says:

O now he settles down lol

  23. DodgerZona says:

    Let’s go…Runs

  24. DodgerZona says:

Wow why did they pull Pomeranz

  25. DodgerZona says:

    Goodnight…Can’t watch this crap

  26. vl4eccjr says:

    WTF?

  27. Disappointing game. Can’t say any more than that.

  28. kahliforni says:

That Mattingley sure is the master at creating runs and putting pressure on the defense…moving runners, small ball, hit and run, run and hit, steals……..just what DOES he do in the dugout all game? And really glad Sands is back…a real difference maker.

    • trublu4ever says:

I’m beginning to think Donnie is a country bumpkin with no sense of managing a team. If I were Kasten & CO., I’d get rid of him and Bunnynutts too! Granted, we did not hit the ball last night but, he ruined everything, as you said Kahli, no creativity. On another note, even though TGJ doesn’t have a high BA, he did fill in respectfully when needed……he has done more for the team than Rivera (who I think should have been DFA). Of course, with Rivera gone, Donnie would have to play James at first ….. we all know how he feels bout him. I am totally embarrassed by our loss last night…..even if we win the next two games, the one last night can come back and bite us in the ass the end of the season.

  29. lbirken says:

Not quite sure what Donnie could have done last night to score some runs. Matt Kemp had two key at bats early in the game with runners in scoring position and he K’d on one and hit into the DP on the other. But no matter, I agree it was disappointing not just to lose but to get shut out when they already knew the teams ahead and behind them in thd standings had already lost. Hopefully the boys will bounce back tonight.

  30. trublu4ever says:

Let’s see if this works tonight:
    Victorino, lf
    Hairston, 3b
    Matty, cf
    Dre, rf
    Ramirez, ss
    Loney, 1b
    Cruz, 2b
    A.J., c
    Harang, p

    • enchantedbeaver says:

Not that I care, because I don’t, but this is EXACTLY why bringing up Sands was assinine – he’s not going to play everyday, so how is he going to stay hot? Then (as usual) he’ll suck playing sporadically and will have “missed his chance” yet again. Just once I’d like to see Ned and Donnie actually create an environment aimed at giving someone the best chance for success rather than one that guarantees mediocrity.

      • trublu4ever says:

Donnie thinks Jerry will come off the bench in a key situation and hit the “big” home run 😉

        • trublu4ever says:

…..another thing, Kennedy is doing his rehab tonight with the Topes…..what the hell are we to do with him?!

          • enchantedbeaver says:

I’ll welcome back Kennedy with open arms if its to DFA Uribe. If they send Cruz down, then there’s no hope for a franchise that would keep Kennedy and Uribe over Cruz.

          • trublu4ever says:

That is my hope too…..DFA Uribe!

  31. trublu4ever says:

    Wow….great catch Matty!

  32. enchantedbeaver says:

How is it the Giants scored 34-35 runs off these guys and we have what – 6 hits in 12 innings?

At what point do you fire the hitting coach? I would’ve thought they’d have hit that point a month and a half ago.

  33. enchantedbeaver says:

Absolutely pathetic against the worst team in the league.

  34. trublu4ever says:

    S-H-I-T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. enchantedbeaver says:

    Ballgame?

  36. kahliforni says:

Personally, I’d bat Ramirez 2nd. Why wait for your best sticks? And who is going to give Ramirez anything to hit with Loney/Rivera backing him? Let Kemp protect him. Besides, Ramirez isn’t exactly thriving in the 5 hole. Yes, Donnie, I know Mark Ellis is the consumate professional hitter batting 2nd…though I’m not impressed enough to surrender a potential last AB to him over Hanley.

  37. enchantedbeaver says:

Wonder what’s going through Victorino’s mind right about now?

  38. enchantedbeaver says:

Harang’s an older version of Billingsley, but without the talent.

  39. enchantedbeaver says:

Pardon my French, but they have one fucking hit in 5 innings against one of the worst staffs in baseball.

This team needs to finish third so that maybe we can get a new coaching staff and manager that can light a fire under these guys collective asses.

Time to go watch TV again.

  40. kahliforni says:

Still say this is Frank’s and Ned’s roster. Our heroes haven’t hit all year and they’re still not. No surprise. Still too much mediocre talent coming to the plate. Loney/Hairston/Cruz isn’t exactly a cinch to turn over any batting order.

  41. vl4eccjr says:

    POOF!!
    Thar she blows!!!

  42. vl4eccjr says:

Well at least it aint a shutout.

  43. koufax1963 says:

Hey you blame starting picthing all you want, but it is misguided. The bats from Kemp and Dre are dead wood, put the blame on that. The dodgers should be able to muster more than 3 runs vs the rockies throwing staff, to the bottom of the 9th, but watching volley ball is more exciting. I agree with the the enchanted one, 3rd place might shake this team up for next year.

  44. vl4eccjr says:

    Another pathetic showing tonight!

  45. grizzy says:

For the most part, the pitching has been good enough. This lack of offense is what’s killing us. I don’t get it. This is pathetic, and yes, it is time to part company with Uribe.

  46. DodgerZona says:

Let’s go Dodgers….Man and we got a tough road trip coming up

  47. DodgerZona says:

    Marlins,Pit,Atl wow

  48. messagebear says:

I’m not going to hope for playoffs as long as Ned and Donnie are around. Making the playoffs would only perpetuate those assholes. Many heads need to roll, but the ownership is stuck in neutral. It’s great that they can assume others’ contracts, but a guy like Ned has already wasted at least half of the payroll that Frank was willing or able to give him, so why is he still around.

  49. kahliforni says:

I get the feeling, bear, that, coming in after the season had already begun, new ownership wanted to take its time, evaluate…and then kick butt in the winter. Besides, Kasten probably knew this roster was NOT one or two deadline trades away from a championship. So Ned and Donnie get to hang around. Good for PR, unlike Jerry Jones who booted Tom Landry to the curb before the ink was dry. Don’t get me wrong, Landry’s time was up, but Jones went about it half ass. Look at the past few weeks. Think Ned DFAed Gwynn? Doubtful. I haven’t heard one word from Ned. So new ownership WILL slash and burn.

As for Donnie, the media loves him (why, I can’t tell), but I’ve soured on him a bit. Too many Grandpa Joe qualities. Calm, boring, 3-run homer mentality. His handling pitchers is too Joe-like, as well. Shawn Tolleson is this close to being the next Cory Wade with an overused arm. Wallach and Lopes at least are National Leaguers and ex-Dodgers, to boot. I’d take either right now over Donnie.

  50. DodgerZona says:

Is Juan Uribe’s time with the Dodgers nearing the end?

Uribe said Tuesday there’s no point in worrying about that.

“Whatever happens, there’s nothing I can do about it,” Uribe said. “I can’t control that. If they want to trade me or do something else, that’s something I can’t control. The decision is for them to make. I’m here to do whatever they want me to do.”

  51. DodgerZona says:

That’s per Dylan Hernandez….Hope that fat ass is gone

  52. DodgerZona says:

I’m here to do whatever they want me to do? Ya not hit and sit on bench and eat

  53. The enormity of Uribe’s epic fail is only surpassed by Andruw Jones in my book. It really goes a long ways in telling just what kind of talent recognition Ned has of his own accord – none (anything after April this year is definitely Kasten driven and approved and not Ned.)

Its been one fail after another with Ned, and my greatest hope is that Kasten is actually building towards next season and using this “pennant race” as a way of ferreting out just what he has in Ned and even moreso in Donnie, neither of whom I believe survives past this October, particularly if they don’t make the playoffs (which they won’t.)

  54. lbirken says:

What happened to the revamped lineup? Not hard to see: the big boys are not getting the job done and the new guys are not contributing as hoped. The pitching, while not terrific, is good enough if the offense could score some runs. The Angels seem to have the reverse problem: they score a bunch of runs but their pitching staff gives up too many. Anyway, the boo birds were out in force last night, first when Loney dropped the easy throw at first and then at the end of the game as Victorino made the last out. Dodger fans seldom boo the home team and I am sure the players heard it.

  55. kahliforni says:

lbirk, they should get booed…..after all, we’ve been told this is purely entertainment…………..and the past few nights, I’ve let my son usurp the TV mid-game. I can handle losing games and losing seasons (haven’t we all) but watching the Rockies series is just flat out BORING stuff…except Loney dropping the throw, of course. Now that was entertainment!

  56. DodgerZona says:

@Dodgers lineup: Victorino LF, M Ellis 2B, Kemp CF, Ramirez SS, Ethier RF, Rivera 1B, Hairston 3B, Treanor C, Billingsley P

  57. DodgerZona says:

Rivera? How about Sands at first….geez

    • trublu4ever says:

      Rivera sucks!

      • Again, why bother bringing Sands back up if they aren’t going to play him?

I swear, this management team does everything it can to ensure failure from a young player rather than create the best chance for his success.

        • trublu4ever says:

I know Matty & Dre are struggling right now but, I also know they will snap out of it…….Hairston & Rivera just aren’t very good, to put it mildly…..and, the release TGJ……don’t get it. I am hearing Uribe may be DFA on Friday….now, that would make me a little happier.

          • trublu4ever says:

….he has to make room for Kennedy 😉

          • in that case, wouldn’t it make sense to just DFA Uribe and Kennedy also. Then follow that up by DFA Rivera and just bringing up Trent Oeltjen or even Van Slyke. I actually want to see what Van Slyke can do already and Sands, Castellanos and Oeltjen, respectively.

          • trublu4ever says:

Of course it makes sense….so, they won’t do it

  58. DodgerZona says:

    I’m with you there Tru

  59. DodgerZona says:

    Could not agree more enchanted

  60. Looks like Billz is back to his usual form. That’s probably the game.

  61. Off hand I’d say all this team needs is a 1B, 2B, 3B, LF, 4 starters, a reliable swing man, and a bench and they’d be right in it.

    • Well, the team can always place Hanley there or Gordon at 2B and the other at SS, but we do need a 3B. That’s our biggest need for the last 9-10 years or so. Billz needs to be traded, and Lilly cant be more than a 4th. They can do with Van Slyke as the 1B next season and Victorino at the top of the order.

  62. DodgerZona says:

    There’s your ball game

  63. DodgerZona says:

Is it time to watch tv yet enchanted lol

  64. trublu4ever says:

Finally….runs for us in the 1st inning!

  65. DodgerZona says:

tv still getting warmed up lol

  66. DodgerZona says:

    but thank u Kemp

    • vl4eccjr says:

The U.S. as a whole cleaned up on the medals today. They’re doing well in the track events so far. I’m hoping the womens soccer team gets their revenge against Japan tomorrow! 🙂

  69. Nice to see the opposing pitcher getting squeezed for a change.

  70. DodgerZona says:

    Come on Dre

  71. vl4eccjr says:

Why is Rivera still on this team?!!

  72. DodgerZona says:

    thanks rivera

  73. Is anyone really surprised? I mean REALLY?

  74. DodgerZona says:

cause donnie and neddy love him

  87. trublu4ever says:

Finally, a win….just what the doctor ordered for a long, grueling road trip.

  88. vl4eccjr says:

    Thanks Kenley!

  89. DodgerZona says:

    A win lol…On the road now…Nite all

  90. nellyjune says:

It’s being reported that Jerry Sands was optioned to make room for Kennedy 😦

  91. kahliforni says:

Kennedy, Uribe, Rivera, Hairston…there’s your bench…maybe they’ll motivate one another…Loney and Cruz should play every day.
