Cincinnati will be trotting out the prospect that the Royals just sent them.

The bullpen sucks so bad. Hatcher’s getting his spot back.

  4. The Beav says:

Donnie’s extended spring training through August this year.

  5. trublu4ever says:

I am surprised Yas is in the line up…..I thought he hurting a bit….taking a few days off.

  6. Dodger4life says:

    Talk to me Vinny.

  7. Dodger4life says:

Hey batter, batter…Score a fucking run!

  8. trublu4ever says:

    Much better than yesterday.

  9. oldbrooklynfan says:

As Scully says, “That’ll do it”

  10. Dodger4life says:

1st ever in Padres history, you say.

  11. oldbrooklynfan says:

With a Dodger and Giant victory and a Met and Nat loss, not much took place last night. In other words everything stood the same. I wonder what lies ahead tonight.

    Puig RF
    Crawford LF

  13. Dodger4life says:

Hopefully, Anderson can throw a few quality innings tonight and make for a nice easy transition towards Jansen.

  14. koufax1963 says:

did you see batters 6 through 8, we wont score enough to bring Jansen in. Sorry, but when I dismiss Crawford he plays well! GO Dodgers with whateveryoucan muster

  15. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Well that wasn’t so hard.

  16. trublu4ever says:

    Yay…two in a row!

  17. oldbrooklynfan says:

Well I’ll miss today’s game as we visit MCU Park to take in the day in Coney Island and watch the Brooklyn Cyclones take on Hudson Valley in the NY-Penn league. I hope I find good news tonight about the Dodgers when I get home.

You still gotta love Donnie – rewarding Crawford’s perfect day with a seat on the bench. Really no wonder why anyone other than AGon can never get anything rolling to help carry the team. Just about whomever swings a hot stick the day before finds themselves on the bench the next day.

  19. kahliforni says:

Sorry, but each day that goes by without a television fix, the more I despise this ownership group. Let ’em eat cake…right?

  20. lbirken says:

Been out of town for the past two weeks plus a few days. I see I have not missed much, including the trading deadline. Was able to keep up with the games and such but internet was a bit slow to follow OTD. I have always admired those of you who do not live in the Pacific Time zone who still follow the games live but not so easy with a 10 hour time difference. I would get up early in the morning to check the score and often the game was still in progress. Back home now and even went to last night’s game. Still trying to learn some of the new players but it still seems that beyond Kershaw and Greinke, the rotation still has some question marks. And I still see the injury bug continues to hit the Dodgers.

I do not see the TV deal improving soon. Even with a Time Warner/Charter merger, the problem with Direct TV still remains with not enough pressure from customers to make a difference. We still hear that all parties hope to resolve the matter but with the Dodgers getting all the money whether anyone watches or not and the attendance at Dodger Stadium strong, where is the incentive to resolve the issue? With so many options available for people to cut cable/satellite ties, one wonders how long the cable/satellite companies can continue with their current business models. But for now it is unfortunate that people who may want to see the Dodgers cannot unless they switch to Time Warner.

    • kahliforni says:

Read the same TV news in the LA Times this morning. True, if it’s about the bottom line, TV may never be fixed. That’s why business conglomerates owning a team can be a nightmare. And make no mistake, in spite of their riches, the Guggenheims have been a nightmare. No matter what Kasten, Magic and the rest say, they are not operating this franchise in the public interest. And, as we’ve all said before, the real tragedy is Vin Scully. He’s cutting back his schedule more and more and, realistically, how many years does he have left to announce games? Very few is the answer. I, too, was overseas for a few weeks recently and didn’t miss this team at all. Still don’t. Another tragedy, at least in my own trivial life. The Dodgers have become a local team for me, not a fanatic passion, as in pervious decades. Bring on the L.A. KIngs and UCLA football. Donnie Who?

  21. Dodger4life says:

    Talk to me, Vinny…

  22. trublu4ever says:

Puig is a pain in the ass! And, poor Joc… a good glove worth playing him everyday?

  23. The Beav says:

Home runs or nothing. Who couldn’t have foreseen the nothing coming there? Christ, if these assholes would just put the fucking ball in play once in awhile, they might actually score without a hit.

I like donnie going for the 4 out save with Jansen, it be sad for JP to screw up a great game by Zack!

  27. koufax1963 says:

D4L nice song selection ! Go Dodgers!

  28. The Beav says:

Home runs or nothing. Got away with it today, but unless they start playing some real baseball in the playoffs, I doubt they score more than 3-4 runs in a series.

    • JhallWally says:

I still think that Dildon is our weakest link. Donnie, Puig, and Pederson are underperforming….

      • trublu4ever says:

Puig is proving more and more everyday he doesn’t have baseball “smarts”. And, if Donnie had half a brain, he’d sit him and play Dre and CC….they are both on it right now. Joc is struggling too but, he attitude doesn’t hurt the team….he’s a gamer….Puig is all about himself.

  29. JhallWally says:

Wow!! A good old fashioned pitchers duel… Not alot of offense by either team. Thank Goodness Greinke took matters into his own hands… I think the Dodgers need to start talking about reworking and extending his contract. JMO.

    Woo-Hoo!! Win Streak!!

  30. oldbrooklynfan says:

My daughter Claudine and I had a good time in Coney Island. Eating and walking around before we took in the Cyclones/Renegades game. The Cyclones (A Met’s farm team) lost in 11 innings. My daughter brought along a smart phone (or whatever it’s called) but we couldn’t get it to work at the ballpark. So I had to get home to find out the Dodgers won. To bad the Giants are keeping pace.

  31. crash24now says:

Ron Roenicke is replacing Lorenzo Bundy as the third base coach.

  32. Dodger4life says:

I’m getting ready to watch the Cardinals play….Go Cards!

  33. kahliforni says:

Bundy remains on the staff; the Guggenheims just don’t know how to fire people. And Vin Scully says he undecided about next year. If her retires before the TV deal is fixed I will hold it against the Guggenheims FOREVER.

  34. griz says:

Just back from the coast to get a nephew married and the wedding party was made up of a bunch of giants fans. Lot of people in Cayucos wearing sf gear due to their recent success, I think. Anyway, everyone was more than civil and i
I got to have several in depth conversations about the strengths and weakness’ of both teams. Pitching seems to be everybody’s problem, that and they are looking for a second baseman. They, the fans, get a kick out of how much the Dodgers are paying people to play foe someone else. Anyway, it was a nice time at the beach. Nice party, no fights, everybody walked home, except the ones that security drove, nobody went to jail.

  35. Dodger4life says:

If Bundy were an air traffic controller, people would be weary of flying into his airport.

    • Dodger4life says:

In his latest role, Roenicke will be called on to improve the Dodgers’ baserunning, which ranks near the bottom of the league in some advanced metrics. Wasn’t this under Lopes job description when he was hired?

      • Dodger4life says:

        To hi-jack a phrase from…

        …The Beav.

Donnie’s extended spring training through August this year.

08/18/2015 – Everyone on the field early for baserunning instructions.

  36. JhallWally says:

Do you think Dildon can read the writing on the wall… World Series or you are outta here…. We’ve already hired your replacement… I love it!!!!

  37. JhallWally says:

    And, there is this:

Then, this morning we find out that international scouting vice president Bob Engle, Patrick Guerrero, the Dodgers’ scouting coordinator in Latin America, Franklin Taveras, the club’s scouting coordinator in the Dominican Republic, Joseph Reaves, the director of international and Minor League relations, Rafael Colon, special adviser for international player performance, Hidenori Sueyoshi, senior manager of international scouting; and Bruce Hurst, Latin America field coordinator have all been dismissed.

Faz is getting real serious!!! I am not sure what it all means, but I like it.

    • trublu4ever says:

I think it means Donnie and Mark are on their way out too!

    • Dodger4life says:

The Dodgers are restricted from signing anyone for more than $300,000 in the next two international drafts. Now would be the best time to make changes. I would think.

    • The Beav says:

None of these guys were Fazdrew’s hirings were they?

Sounds like what’s left of Ned’s stellar hirings are finding their way to the door. Only ones that are left… dare I say it? [dare, dare] …are Donnie and the coaching staff (save Honeycutt, he’s been here forever.)

Guess the FO boys don’t see a functioning baseball team now anymore than I do, and they’re probably wondering why as well.

  38. oldbrooklynfan says:

It’s good to see the Cards beat the Giants last night, to put the Dodgers up by 3 games.

    • Dodger4life says:

It is nice to be up by 3, OBF. The way the schedule lines up, the Dodgers should widen the gap a tad by the time the two meet at the end of the month.

They play another series at the end of Sept. in S.F. By then the Wildcard probably won’t be an option.

  39. griz says:

There had been numerous complaints about Bundy’s work at 3rd base on here and elsewhere,so Roenicke’s hiring wasn’t a great surprise, except for the timing. As Dodger4 has already pointed out, Lopes was hired for the same thing he had success for in Philly. MacGuire was hired as batting coach for the same thing he had success with in StL. But not so much success in LA for those two. What does that say about our players?

    • Dodger4life says:

They’re too slow for Lopes to help them steal a base??? Analytics sorta frown on the old style running game anyhow don’t they?

Roenicke can clean up some of the less than stellar habits on the basepaths, while giving them confidence that they’ll receive better directions rounding the bases.

  40. Dodger4life says:

Maybe the Dodgers are stockpiling managerial options like they were relievers?? Okay, Roenicke is tied up coaching 3B… Who’s next?

  41. Dodger4life says:

If no one throws up a new thread, I will about an hour before game time. Please though, be my guest in doing so…

  42. Dodger4life says:

One could do a “Where’s Waldo Ethier” thread???

  43. Dodger4life says:

    Kershaw’s looking sharp
