Greinke Scherzer

I’m starting a new post so we can hopefully have comments that come out in order.

Greinke is out-pitching Scherzer so far…

  2. crash24now says:

Tru’s boy Ethier has scored the only run of the game.

  3. trublu4ever says:

    We need more runs.

  4. JhallWally says:

    Puig is pathetic!!

  5. griz says:

I’m wondering how far can Greinke go? There is nobody in the pen I’d want to get the ball in this situation. Maybe Howell?

    • crash24now says:

Greinke’s doing a great job keeping his pitch count low. Let him throw a complete game. Just make sure he’s pounding that Gatorade.

  6. crash24now says:

Greinke with the great bat flip and a single!

  7. The Beav says:

Puig needs to be optioned to the minors. Preferably Tulsa.

I’d also be happy if this blog would stop deleting posts. You can’t even say anything remotely against Donnie and its deleted, even without any expletives. I’m about done with this blog. I won’t stand for censorship.

  8. The Beav says:

I’ve also had enough of Pederson leading off. The league’s caught up with Joc and he needs to be moved to 7th or 8th spot.

  9. The Beav says:

Shocking. Who couldn’t see that coming from a mile away?

  10. crash24now says:

Let’s see if Ellis can earn his pay with the bases loaded.

  11. koufax1963 says:

Grandal going out, and now Zack on the bases that whole inning, and not a run scores , again with the bases loaded!

  12. koufax1963 says:

Greinke out pitched scherzer, whether that translates to a dodgers win? very unfortunate dodgers can’t get hits with the bases loaded

  13. The Beav says:

10 hits, a walk and a WP and we have 1 run. Pathetic.

  14. The Beav says:

Thy better pay Greinke whatever he wants. Without him and Kersh, this team would never win.

    • lbirken says:

I was thinking the same thing as I watched this game. From what I can tell, it won’t be so much the money but also ten length of a new contract.

  15. The Beav says:

About time someone gets a hit with the bases loaded.

  16. lbirken says:

Two sacrifice bunts today. How about that?

  17. koufax1963 says:

well wow several hits with bases loaded, I actually wanted to see Jansen face Harper again. And Puig, Joc and AJ get hits in that Ninth! Sweet! Might of been a sweep had lights out not happened Friday

  18. crash24now says:

Well, after all that, the result is that we won a series from a good team. But it took Kershaw and Greinke’s best efforts to get ‘er done.

  19. trublu4ever says:

2 of 3 from the Nats…..not too bad!

  20. The Beav says:

Shocked they were able to take 2 of 3 in DC.

  21. lbirken says:

Grandal’s bunt was on his own. Donnie can’t win: he doesn’t bunt in certain situations and he gets criticized and when he does (and it works) he still gets criticized.

  22. lbirken says:

The Dodgers need these sort of pitching performances because the offense continues to score unless they hit homers. Still, a good start to this challenging road trip.

  23. griz says:

You’ve all seen it!! Base hits with the bases loaded!! A series win against a good team!!

Makes me wonder which way we go from here.

LA radio guy is now on his “would you trade Puig” thing. I really don’t understand all the animosity toward Puig. Patience is a virtue. It’s how I feel about Pedersen now, as well. Puig ranks 7th on the team in OBP and OPS, 8th in hits, 9th in runs, and he’s played in half the games compared to Gonzalez and Pedersen. I feel he’s become a scapegoat for fans’ ire and dissatisfaction with whatever troubles this team. When he’s “on”, fans love his spirit. When he struggles, “trade him.”

  25. lbirken says:

I said the other day I would consider trading Puig but only if something of great value could be had in return. It has nothing to do with any animosity toward him and is nothing more than a question in my mind if he will get any better. I love his spirit, I love his flair, I love the excitement he has brought and the anticipation of what he may do but I do question whether he will ever “get it”. He reminds me so much of Raul Mondesi, a player with similar spirit and flair and a big fan favorite. yet Raul, probably through no fault of his own, never did measure up to the expectations. Perhaps too much is expected when a player has such an electric beginning to his big league career as Puig had or even as Joc has had. It is frustrating to all of us (and clearly to himself) watching opposing pitchers get him to swing at pitches he cannot hit but then again, that happens to every hitter. So I am not angry with him, just disappointed.

    • The Beav says:

Why not send him back to the minors for a couple weeks? Surely he still has options.

      • JhallWally says:

I would send him down in a heart beat if it is possible.. The kid needs a dose of reality… I am not happy with the fact that he comes over here and just thinks he is intitled to a starting spot.. He hasn’t earned anything and the only reason he gets so much leeway, is because he was good for about 4 months when he first came here… It’s absurd…

  26. JhallWally says:

And, I am tired of reading about Crawford coming back on the various sites as if it is a benefit. The guy sucked before he went on the DL, and there is no reason to believe that he will not continue to suck…. He is just going to muck up what is working right now…. JMO!!

  27. oldbrooklynfan says:

Well, this officially (for me anyway)starts my second half. Every year the first game after the feast ends feels like the beginning of the second part of the season. It’s nice to be in first place, with Kershaw and Greinke on a roll.
