Dodgers Seek Big Bat, Bring Up Arruebarrena

Oh.  Well, perhaps those are not related actions.

At least now we’ve got somebody who has some fight in him.

  1. crash24now says:

If they really wanted a big bat, there’s a guy in AAA with 30 homers, name of Joc Pederson.

  2. trublu4ever says:

    Good grief!

  3. trublu4ever says:

I think instead of big bats…..Neddie is going for big boobs 🙂

  4. crash24now says:

    Gordon 2B
    Puig CF
    Gonzalez 1B
    Kemp RF
    Crawford LF
    Turner 3B
    Arruebarrena SS
    Ellis C
    Correia P

  5. Gyorko jerks one out with 2 on. What a start.

  6. Dodger4life says:

Dang!! I run to Subway for a sando, just as the game starts…and when I return, we’re down by 3 runs!!

  7. Turner keeps on rolling. 3-1

  8. Arruebarrena makes it 3-2.

  9. trublu4ever says:

    Correia better settle down.

  10. Correia doesn’t seem to be fooling anybody.

  11. Dodger4life says:

    Where is Gordon???

  12. trublu4ever says:

I think Puig needs a few days off!

  13. lbirken says:

I will take the run on the sac fly but with no outs and the bases loaded, I hate yet again giving up an out to score a run.

  14. Wayda’go AJ puts us up by one 4-3

  15. Correia bunts us to 5-3.
With a little help from Doebbert.

  16. lbirken says:

we might be here for a while.

  17. CC singles in Kemp 6-4

  18. lbirken says:

Puig has been killing a lot of worms tonight.

  19. CC smacks his 5th HR with Puig aboard. 8-4

  20. lbirken says:

    Crawford finally goes yard.

  21. Dodger4life says:

If I’m not mistaken…Crawford just hit the first ever Dodger home-run, off of a pitcher using the padded cap…

  22. Grandal bring it back to a save situation. 8-5

  23. Dodgers have Rojas at 3B and Arruebarrena at SS right now.

  24. Dodger4life says:

Arubarunner [’cause if he wouldn’t of been tackled, he was back peddling so fast he would have blown right past Cuba] is looking pretty good…I think he may have a better stick, than we have been lead to believe…

  25. lbirken says:

Defensive indifference again and it leads to another run. Not saying every runner would be thrown out and I understand not wanting to risk overthrows, but I still have a problem with it.

  26. lbirken says:

Wow, they may not make it easy but they often make it entertaining. Good things happen when you hit the cutoff man.

  27. trublu4ever says:

  28. Dodger4life says:

That turned out to be a fun game….

  29. lbirken says:

Good come from behind and then hang on win tonight. Hopefully it is the start of another long winning streak.

  30. Game called Giants lose.

  31. messagebear says:

Now that Crawford is a temporary hero and is contributing, Andre is sitting and forgotten – pretty much useless, but getting paid a whole lot. What are the chances we can get him through waivers and get something useful for him. It would do Andre a favor as well.

  32. trublu4ever says:

The Giants have won their protest over the Cubs’ ground crew and will resume the game tomorrow with Cubs leading 2-0 going to bottom of 5th. As much as I hate the Gnats, I don’t blame the protest….I’d be pissed if it were the Dodgers.

  33. koufax1963 says:

the protest being upheld is the right thing. Now all things Dodgers, Greinke elbow is on my mind. and the padres are pesky, with many games left with them.

    • Dodger4life says:

I too think the protest being upheld is the right thing to do. I hope the Cubs win by 10 now, though…
I just read that Greinke had an MRI two weeks ago and nothing abnormal was spotted. So, hopefully he will bounce back soon.
Kershaw and Haren have been moved up a day [with the off days, they are pitching on normal days rest], in order to give Greinke a couple extra days rest.

  34. Dodger4life says:

    Barney 2B
    Puig CF
    Gonzalez 1B
    Kemp RF
    Van Slyke LF
    Turner 3B
    Arruebarrena SS
    Ellis C
    Hernandez P

  35. I’m good with the Giants winning their protest. I just didn’t feel right with the way they lost. It was an increase in games ahead that seem like we didn’t deserved.

  36. Dodger4life says:

    ESPN game tonight…

  37. Hernandez is just missing and these Padre are really disciplined and waiting for their pitch as they lead 1-0, now 3-0

  38. So Kemp gets us one back.

  39. trublu4ever says:

Not looking good with Hernandez out there….then again, they have Stults.

  40. WOW He looked safe to me.

  41. In any way you see it, this game ended in the 2nd inning.
The worse part is the lead is now down to 3.

  42. Better to be up by 3 than down by 3. But I’m very bothered by the lack of spirit on this team! No bounce, no swag, no effervescence – flat, flat, flat!! What to do, what to do??

  43. JhallWally says:

Good Grief!!! The pitching was acceptable. The defense sucked… The offense, geez, if you can’t get more than 4 hits and a run against a 4.50 plus era pitcher, you suck…….

    • trublu4ever says:

It was very hard to watch.

      • trublu4ever says:

…..and, geez, Mattingly once again with the righty lefty shit…..CC is our hottest hitter right now and he sits him….NOBODY on our team, according to Vinny, is hitting against leftys…..why doesn’t Donnie Boy know that?!

        • trublu4ever says:

….while I’m venting….how about sitting Puig a few days?! He is beginning to bug the hell out of me….his attitude is not pleasing and he is not clutch. I know he is young and supposedly learning but, time is running out!!!

        • JhallWally says:

Well, we all know Dildon doesn’t have a freaking clue….. His thought processes (or lack of) confound me.. He’s a chip off the old block (Torre) in that regard….

  44. kahliforni says:

This team’s record for coming back late in games from a deficit is 0-season. That speaks to grit, character, intensity, confidence, determination. When 2014 is history….and this team fails, once again…apologists will point to key injuries. Hogwash. Get me a manager who embodies the above attributes. Watching on ESPN last night (perhaps Time/Warner has done me a favor all season after all), I remarked to my wife, “This team is sooooooooooooo boring.” ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

    • It’s incredible that the Dodgers lead the division by 3 games and they are worthless when trailing late in games. If this doesn’t stop, the future will depend more on luck than anything else since the starting pitching is starting to go through rough times.

  45. koufax1963 says:

I have to agree. The dodgers seem lifeless yesterday, but on Tuesday they come back. First of all, what is barney on the team for?
Better glove than Dee? as a back up in case Dee gets hurt? There is no way Barney should be giving Dee a rest. Butera may be a better Catcher to put in, a potential hit comes with his bat, cant say the same with AJ. Hanley coming back on Sunday has to prove he is a better option, that means hitting, and he really hasnt hit much this whole year, Rojas and arreubuenna seem like they are hungry and both provide better D than Hanram. Our starting pitching is waning, MRI or not on grienike he is not as dominant, not as enduring, on lesser degree is haren, ryu and kershaw. With clayton pitching tonight I wonder if we will win vs the pesky padres, In july i would not of been concerned. Now I am looking at the schedule, I usually don’t with D-boys in first, just win baby, but now I look forward to the Nats taking out the gnats, but can the dodgers beat the mets. Oh and I see we finish the season at Home, and that doesnt bode well either. Hit the road and maybe we will win.

  46. The Mets are no pushovers and we’ll have to hope the Nats continue to play as they are playing against the Giants. They could be a blessing for us this weekend.

  47. The Giants lost the suspended game, the lead is now 3 1/2 again.

  48. I’m watching the Padre feed until the Dodger feed clears up after the Angel/Red Sox game ends

  49. griz says:

The cubs did their part, now how about a couple of runs.

  50. trublu4ever says:

Poor Kersh…pitching a gem and we, once again, can’t hit a lick!

  51. Ross is pitching a gem too.

  52. It figures Kershaw is struggling a little here 1-0 Padres. I hope that’s not all they need.

  53. Dodger4life says:

How many games has this squad won when behind after 7 innings…

  54. Tyson Ross looks very unhittable, It looks like it’s going to be tough.
    But…You never know.

  55. Barring something unusual, It’s starting to look like another typical loss that’s been happening lately.

  56. Something unusual just happened Justin Turner’s 2 run HR puts the Dodgers ahead 2-1.

  57. Truthfully I’d rather see Kershaw finish up.

  58. Kenley has no breathing room.

  59. Kenley did another great job.

  60. Dodger4life says:

    1 for 47 now…

  61. trublu4ever says:

    Wow…a nail biter!

  62. lbirken says:

Finally, a late game come from behind win. The lack of offense still has to be a concern.

  63. Dodger4life says:

    Andre’s plate song last night…
    ”I Need You Tonight”, INXS.

  64. messagebear says:

Turner’s been an unusual find for Ned, and I think he even fields better than anticipated. Ned’s probably getting his patented three year contract out. This guy looks like he can hit when given the chance.

On the other hand, Andre CAN’T. Get rid of him already!

  65. oldbrooklynfan says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Mets’ series isn’t a tough series. In fact I’d be surprised if it wasn’t.

  66. Dodger4life says:

    Call Me Crazy…
    Call Me Crazy…
    Call Me Crazy…
I believe that Haren will rack up win number 11 tonight…

With a little help from his friends in the bullpen…
    Call Me Crazy…
    Call Me Crazy…
    Call Me Crazy…
I believe the Dodgers will flourish on offense against the left-hander tonight…

  67. koufax1963 says:

I hope so, gnats look like they will end Nats win streak. GO DODGERS!

  68. When are we going to a new thread?
