Surprise, surprise…..every one of our starters has the night off!

    Magic No.: 11
The number of post-season wins until the Dodgers become World Champions!!!

  3. 32and53fan says:

Spring training lineup should be entertaining.

  4. What happened to keeping people sharp? What about Matt getting his timing back before we start the playoffs? Donnie’s cranio-rectal inversion is back with a vengeance!

  5. Above all, we must remember that Donnie believes it’s really hard to win in September.

  6. Hi Everybody
Tonight’s line up totals 93 RBI and 17 HRs.

Hey Oldbrooklyn, I am just getting settled in… We are hanging around tonight, so far… Schumaker has been fantastic!

  8. Dodger4life says:

Volquez has been pitching well tonight, too…

  9. Volquez is so far so good.

  10. Dodger4life says:

His breaking ball has been wicked good.

  11. Nice line-up. Donnie couldn’t even put in a couple regulars? Nice reward for the Dodger fans that spent their hard-earned money and drove down to Petco.

Until Dildon and Nedcompoop are gone, this team will underachieve… I have a bad feeling that Dildon is going to get a painful education managing in the playoffs… And Ned is just a huge POS GM……

    • 32and53fan says:

Puig and Kemp want to contribute so much that they swing at low and low/outside balls instead of taking them and forcing the pitcher to give them one in the zone or to walk them.

It would have been nice if they could have golfed one over the fence in that at bat like they have done many times before.

  12. JhallWally says:

Good grief!!!! Volquez deserved better. He pitched well… It is unfortunate because, these games still mean something.. We should be playing for a home seed to start the playoffs. As it is, we will be traveling to St Louis. It is always better to have the home field advantage. Geez…

Maybe our injured and banged up players are in worse shappe than we know…

    • JhallWally says:

I guess Dildon is auditioning for his post season roster. Well, tonights game sure made some things clear… Dee Gordan is pathetic. Speed or not, he sucks…. On both sides of the ball….

      • The only thing I could think yesterday after Dee’s error was that I’d hate to see Dee and Yasiel on the same field during a game. The results of their fielding gaffs would be cataclysmic!

    • 32and53fan says:

One earned run in 6 1/3 innings is Cy Young material… 1.42 ERA. It’s just a matter of being consistent every time out there.
Seems like even the “B” team should be able to score a couple of runs.

While having the best record is important, having healthy rested players for the playoffs is also important. How much risk are you willing to take with your key players to try to improve the team’s won-lost record? And even if the players are relatively healthy, how much playing time is enough to keep players in game shape? I can understand concern since Donnie has never done this before but there has to be a first time for everyone at some point. He certainly has enough resources to draw upon if he chooses but each manager and player will have a different perspective. The most logical thing to do is treat the remaining games similar to the last few spring training games while still managing each game with the intent on winning. I do feel for fans who bought tickets to the remaining games but there is always a risk to a fan when buying tickets late in the season.

  14. Hi Everybody
I guess eveybody’s happy the Braves lost today. Maybe the Dodgers can take advantage of that.

  15. The Cards just won and that ain’t good.

  16. PUIG’s 18 HR after Clayton’s fine bunt.

  17. I like that bearded finish.

  18. trublu4ever says:

    Much better than yesterday.

Hi fellow ITD refugees! It’s been a little hectic around here but I’ll work on posting a little more often. I know, I used to do this kind of thing on the old ITD forum. Old habits die hard, huh? 🙂 I know it was tough watching the B team yesterday but the regulars were back today. With predictable results in each. I want to get these guys healthy for October. I don’t think the Dodgers will take over Atlanta for the best record in the NL. Even if the Dodgers win most of the rest of their games, I don’t see Atlanta obliging by tanking the last week of the season. I would hope that they can get home field advantage for the Division Series; only time will tell. I don’t want the Dodgers going into the playoff as the #3 seed but this Dodger team is deeper than ANY other Dodger team I’ve seen in recent memory. Not only do we have the starting pitching, but the relievers are doing well (for the most part). We have an awesome starting 8 position players with a bench the likes if which I’ve never seen. But yes, the biggest problem is the defense; namely Yasiel. But he’s not the only defensive concern though. And no, I’m not just talking about Gordon. I really don’t see Gordon on the postseason roster. I know I and everyone else here didn’t like him as a Giant but Brian Wilson is a REAL find. I’m thrilled the beard is here!!! But what is different about Ned’s reclamation projects in 2013 (Marmol, Volquez) is that these projects aren’t being depended on to be nails. If they work out, then great. But if they don’t, we still have plenty of others that ARE a lot more reliable. I like that feeling alot. Before it seemed like the only players we’d sign are reclamation projects that largely went bust.

Looked like half the people in attendance last night wore the right shade of blue. I wouldn’t want to travel to SD to see the scrubs lose, but at this point a healthy starting eight is essential.

  21. What a surprise! This is not a “normal” Sunday lineup!! Maybe Donnie actually does want to win today – I hope 🙂

  22. Hi Everybody
Need a win here to compete with the Braves and Cards.

  23. Nice clutch hitting by Young.

  24. Too bad the Braves won.

  25. trublu4ever says:

    Win #90

  26. MAN, Talk about pitchers’ duels.

  27. lbirken says:

So Donnie surprises everyone by playing the regulars pretty much most of the last two games against the Padres, probably with the intent of giving Kershaw and Greinke a chance for a win but also to keep everyone sharp. The pitching was great as usual and the offense still seems to struggle a bit. Is this is what is meant by keeping everyone sharp?

  28. crash24now says:

The Cards lost and we trail them by just one game. It would be nice to have home field advantage in a 2-2-1 five game series.

  29. JhallWally says:

Woo-Hoo, win streak!! Nice performance by Grienke and the bullpen. I’m waiting for our offense to resurface…..

  30. koufax1963 says:

Going to the game tonight, daughters friend had two extra tickets, root for Ryu, see how many blue jerseys join us, have to deal with the frustrated gnat fans. Apparently there are many tickets available for this series
