Hoping our winning team shows up for this series….I don’t want to fret about every game.

  3. kahliforni says:

Horribly, the Reds series consisted of a two-run homer by Hanley, a solo homer by Hanley, an RBI double by Hanley, an RBI single by Hanley, and a two-run homer by Puig. The rest of the team can’t seem to drive in runs against big -time pitching.

And not sure I like Kershaw’s and Gonzales’ attitude about “better to lose now,” etc., etc. Sounds like their manager, the same guy who insists he puts a team on the field that gives the Dodgers the best chance to win a ball game (please see box score for Wednesday in Colorado). I said it in April and May, and said it when the Dodgers were 42-8. I don’t prefer DM as this team’s manager.

  4. lbirken says:

Not sure what you would expect the players to say after a series like this. The starting pitching was good but not good enough and the relief pitching was also not good enough since the offense could not generate enough offense. I think the problem with what Kershaw and Agon said assumes that losses and wins come at “convenient” times and the odds should be in the Dodgers’ favor for wins now that they have suffered some losses. Obviously the players were trying to stay positive. They know what happened and they know why. And I doubt they think it has anything to do with Donnie but we will never know.

    • kahliforni says:

lbirk, I agree with you about players saying the “right” things to media, though I would have preferred words such as unacceptable and not-the-time-to-be-coasting kind of stuff. DM, on the other hand, frustrates me with his insistence on believing a sacrifice bunt is the end-all of aggressive play. I still wonder whether or not he embraces the squeeze, the hit-and-run…anything to get a stymied offense moving again. And if he doesn’t, look out playoffs, because he will come up short. For me, playoffs is about “little ball.” There is just too much good pitching to believe otherwise.

  5. Dodger4life says:

Mattingly’s lineups and other odd doings drive me buggy… However, he is a players manager and at the moment his team has the third highest winning % in all of baseball. And it’s a team which broke records in baseball history, getting to this point of the season. So, whether he is the guy everyone loves, or loves to disagree with? We could be in a lot worse shape.

I don’t like the players, whomever they are, publicly saying it is better to lose now, etc., etc. either. I understand if they win later, this may become true. But that is IF and there are NO IF’S in a pennant race, there are NO IF’S in the NLDS, there are NO IF’S in the NLCS and there are NO IF’S in the World Series.

Didn’t these guys say NO EXCUSE’S in spring training??

I expect them to just say, that they got their rear-ends whooped by the Reds, that they have to come out of the dug out each night, better prepared and win ballgames.

Sorry for shouting… I was just trying to stress my point!

  6. Dodger4life says:

According to baseball-reference.com the numbers 0 – 67 have all been worn by players and or managers/coaches before, as well as the numbers 00 – 70 – 71 – 74 – 75 – 77 – 88 – 97 and 99. The numbers 85 and 86 are worn this season by the two bullpen catchers. Triple bonus points awarded, to anyone with enough team knowledge to name them without looking?

    • Dodger4life says:

I have looked 3 times and I still can’t name both of them. Of course today is sort of a haze, as I spent yesterday working at Big Ms. M’s house.

        • Dodger4life says:

          #85 is Flippo, correct.

          • Dodger4life says:

            #86 is Fumi Ishibashi

          • Dodger4life says:

Fumimasa Ishibashi begins his second season as bullpen catcher for the Dodgers. He was promoted to bullpen catcher on May 11, 2012 after being a Japanese language interpreter and bullpen catcher for the Arizona Rookie League Dodgers. In 2010, he served as a bullpen catcher for then Dodgers Single-A partner the Inland Empire 66ers. The 29-year-old began his playing career for the Japan Samurai Bears of the independent Golden Baseball League in 2005 and played for the 66ers in 2008 and Great Lakes Loons in 2009. Ishibashi played at Pierce College in 2003 and 2004. Ishibashi was born in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. He makes his regular home in Gunma and lives in Glendale, CA during the season. He is single and enjoys reading and watching movies.

  7. Reports are we’re close to signing another Cuban defector for $32M for 5-7 years. Infielder (ss), but they’ll probably convert him to 2B. only 5’11”, but supposed to be a power hitter.

  8. crash24now says:

Donnie Boy’s playing around with the lineup again. Seems like a week or two ago he was experimenting with changing up the 1-4 hitters depending on the left-right starting pitcher. Now he’s going with Puig leading off against a right-hander. On top of that, he’s violating his own L-R-L-R rule, using Ethier behind Gonzalez.

Hey, I don’t mind giving Puig and Hanley more at-bats, but when will this merry-go-round ever end?

    • Never, because Donnie’s an idiot.

What the hell exactly is Puig’s roll on the team? Is he a leadoff hitter? Is he an RBI guy? Maybe whoever can explain it to me can also explain it to Donnie because he doesn’t seem to know either.

How can anyone get comfortable and established in a roll on this team when there’s never any continuity in the line-ups?

  9. lbirken says:

Does anyone know what to do with Puig? He certainly is not a traditional lead off guy because he is such a free swinger. And for the same reason, he is not a traditional second guy either. He is an enigma on the base paths. What would you do with him?

    • crash24now says:

I would go (1) Crawford, (2) Puig, (3) Hanley, and (4) Gonzalez. That way the first three run the basepaths as fast as they can, and Gonzalez nor Ethier get in their way.

When Crawford gets on ahead of Puig, try some hit-and-run plays with either a 0-0 count or a 1-0 count.

Make sure Puig doesn’t try to steal third base when Hanley is hitting.

      • Its not exacty brain surgery IS it?

I just don’t get how someone that’s spent their whole life playing, coaching and managing baseball can have such a difficult time with the concept. Drives me nuts he puts Agon ahead of Puig or Hanley to Clydesdale up the basepaths in front of them.

    • crash24now says:

P.S. Keep Puig away from the outfield walls. We have seen how a devastating collision can impact a superstar, like with Kemp.

  10. trublu4ever says:

Please let us win tonight…I think Volquez is scheduled for tomorrow.

  11. Hi OTD
Well the Dodgers won’t get any help tonight keeping the D’backs away, they’re on their own. This could be a big series if either of these two teams sweep. The race could tighten up or the Dodgers could put their finishing touches on the regular season.

  12. kahliforni says:

Puig should bat 1st. Start the game with the opposing pitcher on edge. If he wants to mess around with Puig, then he walks. What pitcher shivers when Crawford is approaching the plate? Like Ricky Henderson, a leadoff batter that can smack the ball out of the park is a very uncomfortable sight for the starting pitcher to begin a game. And Puig is 100 times more dangerous than Crawford with a bat in his hand.

  13. Pathetic. Did we time travel back to May?

  14. koufax1963 says:

runner on third, no outs, no score, does not bode well, pumps the other team up!

  15. crash24now says:

Next time Puig will be tempted to steal home.

  16. trublu4ever says:

WOW…I think you woke them up, Beav! 😉

  17. Before I could say it’s always nice to see Andre hit one out, Uribe hits another one. WOW.

  18. crash24now says:

Every Day Dre and Uribe (hey, that rhymes!)

  19. koufax1963 says:

Ok two HRs bodes well! especially when they were hit by someone who’s last name doesn’t end with a “z”

  20. trublu4ever says:

    YO…ADRIAN!

  21. vl4eccjr says:

    Yo Adrian!

  22. Wow another homer now its A-Gon.

  23. vl4eccjr says:

    Holy Crap!
    Home Run Derby!

  24. trublu4ever says:

    Oh, my…Uribe, again!

  25. Another one for Uribe.

  26. nedisajerk says:

No way Uribe again I won’t be upset at Ned if Uribe resigned a 1 year contract.

  27. crash24now says:

Uribe is getting ready for the playoffs, unlike Donnie Baseball.

  28. vl4eccjr says:

The question is, where the hell was this Uribe last year?

  29. crash24now says:

I agree. That’s a great argument for one year contracts.

  30. There goes the shutout.

  31. trublu4ever says:

    I…..C…U…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. Unbelievable Hanley makes it 5 HRs for the Dodgers tonight.

  33. crash24now says:

    Hanley!

The boys are taking care of business tonight. Send those D-Backs packing!

  34. vl4eccjr says:

Okay! What did Uribe eat today?

  35. trublu4ever says:

    JUAN IS ON FIRE!

  36. This is very undodgerlike Uribe hit’s another one his third.

  37. Un-freakin-believable.

And in a good way for a change.

  38. crash24now says:

No!! You are kidding me???? Uribe? Yes!!!!!

  39. crash24now says:

Can we say the Michael Young experiment is officially over?

  40. crash24now says:

The Dodgers suddenly have five players that are double-digit in HRs this year.

  41. Meanwhile, Nolasco just goes about his business.

  42. Dodger4life says:

I’ve been busy tonight, and every time I check in for updates… It says Juan Uribe hits a home run… Right On Juan!!

  43. Somebody ought to tell Vinnie that it’s 6 HRs not 5 tonight.

  44. Nolasco had a strong 6.2

  45. Howell was the forgotten man, now Donnie pitches the poor bastard every day.

  46. Dre not hitting lefties in situations like that could cost dearly in the playoffs.

  47. crash24now says:

Just a single, Juan? Thanks, that’s another run. You’ve been great tonight. Didn’t Juan have another monster game earlier this year?

  48. Dodger4life says:

Who was the last Dodger to hit three consecutive home runs in a game?

  49. trublu4ever says:

    I don’t like Marmol!

  50. lbirken says:

I think Vinny has done a terrific job tonight bringing the flavor of this game to the viewer. His comments about Puig wanting to do something terrific, his observation on the ball Agon hit off the centerfield wall and just the way he has kept things in the moment has been vintage Vinny.

  51. trublu4ever says:

    Much, much better!

    • JhallWally says:

Woo-Hoo, win streak!!! Nothing like having a player, playing for his next contract…… Hey, if it gets us a championship, I’ll take it…. Hint to Ned, don’t resign him to some ridichoulous deal like you did before…. Enjoy it for what it is and let it go….

  52. Well 8 is a nice small number.

What happen to yunghitters89? This would be the 2 years anniversary when he started this thread “When Will Our Next ROTY Come”?

Also what happen to NSB, colliethec, Bob, Amy, Sarah and I know their other that I forgot to mention. I know 1 of them got marry but would be nice to see those last 2 again.

When Will Our Next ROTY Come?

Look at those names back on inside the dodgers in 2008. I found a message when Wally said Grady Lube hahaha.

    Today's lineup in Beijing

    • Dodger4life says:

Shad, colliethec comments on here from time to time.

    • JhallWally says:

Hi’ya Shad, alot of people from the old Inside, have not come over here… We still have the die hards and real Dodger fans mixing it up here…. I’m glad you are still with us….

      Go Dodgers!!!!

      • kahliforni says:

I don’t think the old guard knows where to find us. I sent an e-mail to the Dodgers brain trust a few weeks ago asking to attach this blog the the Dodgers website. All I’ve heard back are crickets… We need to be national so annoying rivals can troll here!!!

        • trublu4ever says:

We have to tell 32and53fan to do that (he started this blog) I recommend Dodger4life to take the task 😉

          • Dodger4life says:

I talked to Brian about getting more people to notice this blog, whether it was through Facebook or another avenue. He told me that he started this blog so that those of us who came to ITD would have a place to congregate. He also said that he doesn’t have the time to keep up with the day to day duties that a bigger more successful blog requires.

ITD wasn’t just linked to dodgers.com, it was linked to MLBlogs and until they changed the rules on us, was always a top producer.

biddyboo asked me to check out Facebook in 2008 and I did. Since then I have added many Dodger friends as well as a handful of old ITD participants. I can always ask them to come rejoin us again. Although I have left a couple of links on my page before.

I don’t mind changing the thread and trying to give us something to discuss. I have the time at the moment and until that changes, enjoy it as well.

        • Dodger4life says:

kahli, it would be wonderful, if as promised, they would either attach this blog site or renew the old one. Although, I doubt that will ever happen. They added Jon Soo Hoo to the homepage and he has a Facebook account as well. He has many followers as you can imagine. Jon is a wonderful talent and is just as wonderful as an individual. (He has responded to messages sent before). His blog is always a pleasure to view, but yes, short on comments compared to the old ITD.

        • Dodger4life says:

It wouldn’t be all that hard to find a troll or two thousand, if someone linked this page to Facebook… especially during the upcoming post season. Facebook trolls can make Philly look tame though.

        • 32and53fan says:

When I started this blog, a few people were still hoping that Josh Rawitch would resume posting to ITD. I posted several times on ITD that, until that blog was resurrected, they were welcome to continue the game chats on OTD. A couple of folks mentioned that they thought it would be disloyal to the Dodgers to come and comment at OTD.

I did not want OTD to be part of MLBlogs because I did not want the limitations imposed by MLB Media. I don’t know if it was generic to all MLB blogs or just ITD, but if you remember remember, we could not even put new lines between paragraphs, and could not add stuff like YouTube to our comments.

I am pretty sure that most of us here are in our golden years, so I did not impose a list of commandments, like those on Jon Weisman’s Dodger Thoughts, preferring to go for free speech, even though the language did get a little salty during the period when the McCourts were still around. I am proud that everybody here has refrained from flaming each other and kept the vicious barbs aimed at Dodger management, who know it is part of the gig to withstand some slings and arrows.

Above all, I wanted OTD to be open to everyone, not just to comment, but to also create new posts, if the spirit moves you. Tru has done a great job and unleashed her creative side with the great graphics she includes with each post along with a snappy headline. Many of you have also taken the mantle and created many thoughtful posts. Dodger4life has been especially active lately in this regard.

I’m sorry that I have not been that active lately during the game chats. I usually watch the games on time delay so that I can blow past commercials with a couple of button pushes on my remote. I do read every comment, though it is often after the game has ended.

As far as getting an official link on the Dodgers Web site, I don’t see that happening. Even some really great sites with original content, like True Blue LA, aren’t afforded a link there. I have added links on OTD on Facebook and Twitter from time to time but it is not done automatically. If all of us re-tweet or share such links, we may be able to attract a few more regulars here. I know that Steve Lyons, Kevin Kennedy and Jon Soo Hoo have seen this blog without commenting on anything.

This has been a a fun ride. I hope it lasts until November.

On this 12th anniversary of 9-11, let us pause a moment and reflect on this national tragedy and honor the over 3000 that were lost on that fateful day.

    • Dodger4life says:

      I remember this game crash.

Last night when I seen that Juan had hit 3 consecutive out and then found his way to first by way of a single. I said this game could turn into a rout, maybe he is working on the cycle now!

Unless someone belts 4 consecutive home runs? The name Juan Uribe will be etched into the Dodgers single game history books, as the 7th player to belt 3.

      The other 6

Gene Hermanski (Aug. 5, 1948 vs. CHC),
Duke Snider (May 30, 1950 at CIN),
Roy Campanella (Aug. 26, 1950 at CIN),
Tom Brown (Sept. 18, 1950 vs. CHC),
Shawn Green (May 23, 2002 at MIL)
      Hee-Seop Choi (June 12, 2005 vs. Minnesota)

      • Dodger4life says:

With all the talent on this team, and we have a lot of talent. I would have never guessed, that Uribe, would be the lone man from 2013, in the Dodgers single game, batting, history books.

But this is baseball, where anything can happen.

  58. Dodger4life says:

I sent a message to Sara who is one of the handful, I have as FB friends. Letting her know that we all miss her. This was her response.

Tell everyone hi. She’s doing well, she has a new job and she’s working on her masters. Life is just busier 🙂

I then asked her if she found the time during the playoffs to come join us.

  59. Dodger4life says:

The Dodgers have released the 2014 schedule.

The AL teams that will be visiting before the All -Star break are the Tigers for 2 games, then we travel to Detroit for two, the Indians invade the Ravine for three and the after the break we have 2 at home against the Angels and then the following two days, we go to wherever it is the Angels play. It also appears that the Dodgers will open the season in Australia, against Arizona, on March 22/23rd.

Once again my source was Tony Jackson @ dodgerscribe.com, who is working hard to bring us fresh news on his new blog site. Which will have a pay-wall next season. So far, I am not against paying Tony to bring me a new look inside team, and it’s surroundings.

    http://mlb.mlb.com/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=la#y=2014&m=3

    • I know Josh did ITD until he left to work for the Snakes, but didn’t TJ have the blog before Josh took over or am I remembering it incorrectly. I refuse on principle to pay for a blog though.

You want trolls and misguided homers who will slit your throat if you say anything even remotely against the home team, go to the blog that’s linked to the articles on the homepage. You certainly won’t be disappointed. Its unreadable at times.

      • Dodger4life says:

enchanted you have been around much longer than I, Josh ran the site when I came along.

Like shad, I wondered why no one else, has come around to this site. My conclusion is what kahli brought up. A) We were linked to the Dodgers through Josh. B) There hasn’t been as much friendly and fun/funny discussion about everything in general, like we had in the past. People like CP and Collie, who came to talk Dodgers but also came to chat with friends for a brief moment or two. I will say also that missing North, Dodger Eric, as well as Nelly, puts a dent in our shiny Armour. As I explained before Eric is very good at getting a good flow started. North is a talented writer, and Nelly was always willing to chat and listen with whomever. And when was the last time Nedco Records released a song in our presence???

I do hope to see some of the old gang back here during the playoffs though. I know I will invite the ones I can.

enchanted, if the blog brings me stuff that I can’t get elsewhere and the blog gives me the stuff, I can get elsewhere sooner. As well as the “adds” not becoming so annoying to the point, that I become frustrated with the site. I wouldn’t mind paying a fee. It is a business and like all businesses, it takes money to stay afloat.

Although, if the pay-wall was up now, I wouldn’t have the money.

        • Dodger4life says:

It seems Tony Jackson wrote for a paper?? That had a section called Inside the Dodgers…

        • Dodger4life says:

But, I enjoy everyone here, just as it is. I think everyone who comments brings a piece that can’t be replaced. So, if this blog remained just as it is, I would be happy all the same. I learned a while back to just be happy. Well a song would be nice once in a while. but music makes me happy too.

          • I’m just remembering how TJ finally came around and admitted Juan Pierre wasn’t much good after months of argument by posters (circa 2009ish maybe), and I just don’t remember ever visiting another blogsite.

Anyone else remember that, or was it not TJ and it was someone else, or am I just hallucinating again?

          • Dodger4life says:

I went back to look, I thought maybe I could find it. All the comments for that time period have been deleted.

  60. Dodger4life says:

I am not trying to change anything on this blog. My conversation with 32and53fan took place when I asked to be added as an Editor. I asked him for directions on how to create photos and such as well. Then asked why he didn’t get this blog out in front of more people is all.

I have a few health issues I am working on at the moment and have been stuck here at the house. So I have a lot of time on my hands. I enjoy changing the thread and usually do so around noon on the day of a new series. I am in no way trying to take over this site, and do not want to become overbearing, in any way. However, if the thread hasn’t been changed by noon the day of a new series. I probably have something ready.

I just try and find stuff for everyone to read, I am not a big stat guy, I have no clue as to what some of them even mean.

If I see something that I think others will enjoy, I post it. I don’t watch much TV these days. Unless the Dodgers are on, or one of two shows I enjoy.

I read, cook and listen to music in my spare (oh who are we kidding) time, these days.

So I hope no one has been offended by all my comments or feels like I am overstepping my bounds. If so just say something, I’ll understand.

Dodger4life, people come and go, they get busy or worse, I doubt they ever disown the Dodgers. I appreciate the people here that comment and respect their point of view. I have visited the chatter at the other site, and it can get pretty stupid, and not in a fun way. So lets keep it fun, whether its observations, stats, nostalgia or worthless prognostication, it’s all good.

  61. crash24now says:

Donnie Boy must be sick today. The lineup is virtually unchanged from last night (other than AJ in for FedEX, then switch the two Ellises for 7&8).

  62. lbirken says:

To all of you who post new threads and do the work, thank you.. I too have looked at the comments in other places and for the most part, it looks like it is difficult to have a decent conversation.

    • You know what it is for the most part on those other sites birk – nobody wants to allow someone to have their own opinion. That and there’s absolutely no respect given. Try having a rational conversation, especially if your views are against the team and about all you get are obscenities.

That’s why ITD/OTD has always been so great. We respect each others views even if they’re different from our own, and I think everyone on here also acknowledges the fact that we’re all Dodger fans no matter what side they take.

  63. Hi Everybody
    Well here we go.

  64. trublu4ever says:

    Please, Volquez….be half way decent!

  65. crash24now says:

It helps when the D-Backs give us a gift!

  66. crash24now says:

Puig with an RBI and a stolen base!

  67. Kind of wild but we’re up 2-0

  68. trublu4ever says:

    Geez, Agon!

  69. crash24now says:

A-Gon got thrown out at second on a text book double. He is so slow!

  70. If I was Adrian, I woould’ve never tried for second on that hit.

  71. Perfect example of why Agon shouldn’t bat in front of anyone with speed.

  72. crash24now says:

Nice snare by Uribe at third!

  73. crash24now says:

D-Backs hitting the snot out of the ball against Volquez, cut the lead in half.

  74. colliethec says:

Wuz up people’s?! D4 contacted me and said Shad was wondering where I’ve been — What’s up Shad! Thanks for asking… Just really busy with work. Been watching the games nightly and chatting some on FB & hanging with Wifey. But I’ve missed being on here and chatting with everybody. I think it would be great if we could get some of us together on here for the stretch run and playoffs. I was hoping to be on here this season but by the time I get home from work & have dinner it’s usually already after 9:00 PM. Hopefully work will loosen up soon and I can take some vaca during the playoffs – I’ve got 280 hours I’m supposed to take before December…

  75. colliethec says:

Oh & I was reading the above comments and yes I agree – why does DM still screw with the lineup all the time. A-Gone should be in the 4 spot. Unless DM has him there to slow down Puig from going all “run till they get me”…

  76. crash24now says:

Two errors for them; two runs for us.

  77. trublu4ever says:

    Crap…here comes the implosion!

  78. Didi puts the D’backs ahead.

  79. colliethec says:

Ok… Who’s going to Arizona for that Montero Bobblehead?!!

  80. Volquez could only be decent for so long before he turned back into, Volquez.

  81. Nice to see you Collie.

  82. Hope the top brass has seen enough of Volquez that they don’t let Ned sign him for another three years.

  83. Judging from Gameday, Gonzo sure got some favorable calls that AB.

  84. crash24now says:

    Every Day Dre!!!!!

Of course, Gonzo is too slow to score from first even though there were two outs.

  85. trublu4ever says:

    That’s my boy!

  86. O.K. Andre tie score.

  87. crash24now says:

    Another web gem by Uribe!

  88. Can League and Marmol be far behind?

  89. colliethec says:

Watching AG run is like watching a tractor move dirt. Dude has to be one of the slowest guys in the league.

  90. colliethec says:

Dre has been solid this year. Both in the field and plate. Nice catch by Puig. Glad he didn’t crash into the wall running full sprit for a fly ball. Love his hustle but some of his plays have been a bit dumb.

  91. Volquez wasn’t that bad.

  92. When was the last time Crawford hit a dinger? Seems like he had 5 like the end of April.

  93. trublu4ever says:

    Why, Donnie, why?!

  94. Our bridge from the 7th to the 9th is a little suspect for the playoffs IMO.

  95. crash24now says:

    Nice inning by Jansen! (again!)

  96. trublu4ever says:

    Walk-off time!

  97. colliethec says:

    Hey there Shad! How’s life?

  98. What the hell is it with Donnie and the bullpen? After Withrow we’re down to the bottom of the barrel.

  99. crash24now says:

Well, well, Donnie Boy finally used Dee Gordon. But with two outs, he didn’t have much time to come around.

  100. crash24now says:

The offense has reverted to the one we saw over the weekend at the Great American Ball Park.

  101. trublu4ever says:

Withrow is a keeper! Do you hear me, Donnie?!!!

  102. colliethec says:

As nice as yesterday was to see Uribe go ballistic it might of gotten him into his free swinging ways of yesteryear. Lots hope they correct him correctly!

  103. The bullpen has been fantastic.

  104. I agree with Collie. Withrow is a fine set-up man. 3-4 pitch repertoire and quite a variant in speed from the heater to the curve. Really surprising he couldn’t make it as a starter.

  105. crash24now says:

Eaton just robbed AJ of a double.

  106. colliethec says:

    Bash with The Stash!!!!!

  107. crash24now says:

    Scott the Stache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  108. trublu4ever says:

    SVS…WAY TO GO!

  109. crash24now says:

    Magic Number down to 6

Win streak!!! Volquez did OK… Kept us in the game…. Bullpen was nails. Nice win… Not flashy, but they got the job done….

  110. crash24now says:

Did you ever notice that Ramirez and Puig are always up to some hi-jinks? Tonight, they brought out the ice water to douse SVS.

Yesterday, they were feeding “King Kong” Uribe bananas.

These two have taken over the leadership of the club (in Kemp’s absence).

  111. colliethec says:

Night all! Fun seeing and chatting. Take care…

    • JhallWally says:

Hi’ya Collie, good to see and read you here… Welcome back….
I hope work eases off thru the playoffs so you can banter with us here…….

Hi everyone! It’s been a long time, I know. Thx to D4Life for sending me this link. I’ve never been on this site. It’ll be nice to catch up with my old ITD buddies. A lot has been going on lately but at least our Boys in Blue are doing well. GO DODGERS!!!

  114. cpompe1 says:

It’s nice to be back. Have to go meet a client. I’ll catch up with y’all later…

  116. trublu4ever says:

The best thing about the game tonight…no BOB BRENLY!!!!!

  117. Hi Everybody
Isn’t it great to be going toward the clincher?

  118. trublu4ever says:

Uh, oh..Ryu is in deep poop!

  119. I was watching video on 9/11/01 on the World Trade Center disaster and until now following the game on Gameday,
    Ryu really getting litup.

  120. colliethec says:

Good evening all. I hope all is well for everyone. For those of you that haven’t seen it — a very good show about 9/11 and baseball is called “9 Innings From Ground Zero”. It shows how baseball helped the country move on from 9/11. Very powerful show and I highly recommend it.

  121. colliethec says:

Watching League pitch warms my heart…. In a bad way.

  122. crash24now says:

We got to their bullpen. Now let’s get to scoring.

  123. trublu4ever says:

Looks like Donnie wants to forfeit this game!

  124. kahliforni says:

Pondering the playoffs because this game so far is a snorefest. Ethier raked when batting 2nd in front of Manny. I think he should bat 2nd in front of Ramirez and send Crawford to the 6-hole, and then to the bench when Kemp returns. Bat Kemp fifth and you have five real dangerous hitters to start the order. Anyway, hey to you, colliethec. I hope there’s a playoffs reunion of many lost bloggers.

  125. crash24now says:

Damn it Donnie, we’ve got a chance to pull within a game of Braves.

  126. This night belonged to the Snakes.

  127. crash24now says:

Just another game that Donnie didn’t care to win.

  128. Dodger4life says:

That game last night put me to sleep…

  129. Totally uninspired effort last night.

This is what concerns me with Donnie – he thinks he can turn momentum and intensity on and off like a light switch. It doesn’t work that way. You either play to win or you don’t, and you can get a team into some really bad habits by lollygagging around.

    • Dodger4life says:

I would have to agree with you enchanted..
      .
Unless someone has any objections, I was going to change the thread in a little while??

    • trublu4ever says:

To make it even worse, in my opinion…Donnie also wanted to sit Hanley & Adrian but they told him NO….wanted to play until we had clinched. Mattingly is an idiot!

    • 32and53fan says:

Fred McGriff was at DS a couple of days ago and said that he never wanted to sit during September. Mattingly is trying to balance out guys getting playing time with rest that the regulars may or may not need. On Dodger talk last night, it was mentioned that Hanley looked like he was nursing some minor injury.

Go ahead D4L… your posts are very good.

  130. lbirken says:

Say what you want about Dodger management/ownership about what happens on the field but the Dodgers continue to give the fans a first class experience with the Friday night fireworks shows and such. Last night’s pregame program recognizing 9-11 was first class and top notch all the way while still being respectful and mindful that we were all there to watch a baseball game. The Dodgers honored first responders by having many of these folks on the field, including fire fighters from New York, a great bag pipe team, the unfurling of a special 9-11 flag (flown in by Guggenheim Group) and a wonderful rendition of the National Anthem by a member of the Marines. The topper was a flyover from a number of helicopters from various agencies such as LAFD, LAPD, LA County Sheriffs and others. It was quite inspiring and very well done.

  131. Dodger4life says:

    New Post… I have moved today’s conversation over…

    Thanks 32and53fan…
