  1. trublu4ever says:

Dee Gordon called up….Fife to AAA…..still waiting to hear results of Hanley’s MRI. Puig, however, is in lineup tonight.

    • trublu4ever says:

I personally don’t like this move. Punto can play short (he is tonight) and, I thought Fife did a fine job. If you want a position player, I’d take Scottie….just my opinion,

  2. crash24now says:

That is a beautiful blue arch! Let’s get it done!

Think of Gordon as shortstop insurance. What if Punto gets hurt during tonight’s game?

    Go Greinke!

  3. How do we know in the grand scheme of things that Dee isn’t exactly what’s needed right now? Its all a part of the design of the great Dodger in the Sky.

  4. trublu4ever says:

I’m reading that Hanley is feeling better and isn’t doing a MRI….not sure if it’s true but, sounds good to me.

  5. trublu4ever says:

Kersh is the National League Pitcher of the Month…way to go!

  6. crash24now says:

Ethier knocks in our first run!

  7. 32and53fan says:

ARod batting for the 1st time to a chorus of boos.

  8. ZonaDodger says:

    F Arod…..Stupid they showing his AB’S give me a break…Who cares

  9. Thank goodness that Greinke got that last RBI.

  10. No worse off than we were when the inning started.

  11. Very timely double play 🙂

  12. 32and53fan says:

I’m surprised that no one has commented on the heated exchange between Puig and AGon. Puig was angry that Gonzalez stopped at 3rd base on Puig’s hit that bounced off the wall. AGon did nothing wrong, he was either stopped by Wallace, or decided he was too slow to take a chance to score in that situation.

I have a feeling that Puig will be severely chastised for showing up a fellow teammate like that in public. Especially one who has been helping him adjust to life in the majors and this country. Maybe a Twitter campaign by some fans will give him the message that what he did was not cool.

    • lbirken says:

The guys on ESPN commented on it and showed a replay. Later on during the game they showed Puig and Agon together in the dugout talking and it did not look like there was a problem. I think Puig’s teammates are doing a good job showing him how it should be done and Yasiel’s body language indicates to me he gets along with everyone. The challenge is trying to tone down his aggressive play without changing the high energy way he plays. He just seems to lack that baseball I.Q. we all admire in so many players. Will he ever get it? It will be interesting.

      • 32and53fan says:

Kevin Kennedy said they were joking around, just like Hanley and Hillman a couple of weeks ago. If so, it’s a funny (strange, not ha ha) way of joking since everybody in these occurrences had a scowl on their faces the whole time. But WTF do I know? I spend too much time with computers and not much face time with humans.

  13. OMG!! 100th career win for Greinke and a great save by Paco.

  14. ZonaDodger says:

    Nice win boys

  15. trublu4ever says:

    Whew…we did it!

    • JhallWally says:

Woo-Hoo Tru!!!!! Win streak!!!! Just hope HRam’s injury is not too bad…. We can’t afford to lose him for an extended period of time.. He really is the sparkplug of this team….

  16. We can breathe again!

  17. Missed tonight’s game, went to an annual affair. It was good to come home to find that the Dodgers won that 15 road game in a row. Also nice to have a 6 game lead.

  18. grizzy says:

Interesting observation by lbirken. Will Puig ever get it? Gonzalez is a tried and true vet, while Puig has been here half the season. The other Cubans seem to play with a little flair, so it will be interesting to see what he’s like a couple of years from now. If he stays in one piece.
Totally agree about Arod. This is being beat into the ground, and to top that off, they cut away from our game to show the jerk. Schilling made a good point, though. Ahole has probably been using the stuff all along.

  19. trublu4ever says:

    The Gnats signed Ted Lilly….lmao!

  20. messagebear says:

Don’t forget that Lilly is getting $13 million for this season, thanks to generous Ned – so, how unlucky can you get. On top of that he’s still got a spot in the majors – just for the love of the game, of course.

  21. trublu4ever says:

Now the Giants are saying, after reviewing Lilly’s medical history, they will hold off on a contract right now. 🙂

  22. A nice 5-run Dodger first inning would be nice for Kersh.

  23. I was happy not to see Melina and this guy Tony Cruz draws first blood.

  24. It would be good for the Dodgers to get those 2 runs back right away.

  25. That’s the way A-Gon.

  26. vl4eccjr says:

    Another damn GIDP!!

  27. This team hasn’t hit worth shit since Toronto. Its been all pitching.

  28. That failed sac by Punto really hurt us,

  29. Beltran gives them their insurance run that could sealed this thing.

  30. vl4eccjr says:

There’s the League we’ve all come to know!

  31. Looks like League is back to his old self again.

  32. vl4eccjr says:

  33. vl4eccjr says:

Divine intervention is desperately needed here!

  34. messagebear says:

Typical case of Donnie overmanaging. Take out Howell, who’s been consistently good, and bring in League to build up his confidence.

  35. 15 straight road games wins was spectacular.
Just have to pick it up and start over again.
    Have to lose sometime.

  36. vl4eccjr says:

Oh well! The streak comes to an end. It really sucks for Kershaw! Wasn’t his fault they had 4 GIDP’s!
It sure was a nice ride while it lasted!

  37. crash24now says:

Wow, League really blows. You know it’s bad when you have to get bailed out by Marmol.

Oh well, like OBF said, it was good while it lasted. Now let’s go win tomorrow night’s game.

  38. koufax1963 says:

So with Kershaw we lose, so lets check the character of this team tonight, haven’t been hitting, and injuries still persist, time to get with it, yea a split is fine.

  39. JhallWally says:

Extremely disappointing lose… Anytime Kersh pitches and we don’t get a win, it is a huge missed opportunity….. We had a shot until League gave it up.. Hopefully, Dildon will make a note of it and not bring him into another close situation… What a waste, another Nedcompoop blunder……

Once again, why is Ned still employed?????????????? Geez!!!!

  40. grizzy says:

Can’t seem to find a place to use League. Doesn’t seem to be a place for him.

  41. Hate to say it, but there are several teams in the NL that are just plain better than we are – St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta is vastly better.

Even with Hanley in the line-up this team hasn’t been scoring since Toronto. Its been all pitching and will continue to be because it looks to me like Donnie’s falling back on his old, don’t run, don’t hit and run, stupidly bunt in situations that don’t call for it, and don’t bunt in situations that do.

A manager of personalities, maybe. A baseball manager, certainly not.

  42. grizzy says:

enchanted-Ive been concerned myself about the lack of runs. There has been some timely hitting, but it’s been the pitchers carrying the load.

    • When the scoring slows down it’s up to the pitchers to do their jobs, they have not been disappointing and the team has been winning like they’ve hardly ever did before, so I see absolutely no reason to complain.

  43. grizzy says:

That’s one way to get it done, Jhall.

  44. lbirken says:

For whatever reason, Kershaw does not get much run support. The road winning streak was going to be broken at some point. Unfortunately, it happened with Kershaw. Perhaps Donnie was wrong to depend on League but he had done so well his last few outings I seriously doubt Donnie used League just to boost his confidence. I too am concerned about the lack of runs the Dodgers are scoring lately. Let’s hope that changes today.

  45. 32and53fan says:

I am looking forward to the return of Tony Jackson to the blogosphere. His new site, http://dodgerscribe.com/ will start coverage on Friday.

    • Am I imagining it or did TJ run the old ITD before Josh did. Seems to me at some point we finally got TJ to admit JP was just about useless, but it was so long ago I can’t remember if it was that blog or a different one.

      • 32and53fan says:

You are imagining it… I think. You were on ITD before me, but it was mostly a marketing tool to put our greenbacks into their Dodger blue coffers. TJ was on two, maybe three blogs until he disappeared. He is a cool guy… Always answered my email and gave me lots of (well… some) politically incorrect scuttlebutt. He should be a lot more open since he is his own boss now.

  46. crash24now says:

Dee Gordon gets a start at ss today. Should be interesting, but not necessarily good.

    • trublu4ever says:

Not a fan…would rather have SVS (a lot more power)…Punto can play short ’til Hanley comes back.

    • I hope he surprises us.

    • I don’t have a problem with Gordon getting a start. Its not like they’re going to score any less with him in the line-up.

The biggest problem I see with our team as opposed to the other division leaders and St.L are that these other teams have way more balance hitting-pitching-fielding than our lopsided pitching heavy club. Main thing that’ll get us beat if we make the playoffs though is the disparity in managers. Or to put it another way, that’s where we’re most unbalanced.

  47. Hi Everybody
    Enjoy the game.

  48. Tough break for Selby Miller, I hope he’ll be O.K. before long but I hope this doesn’t work as a bad omen for the Dodgers.

  49. Why does this line-up remind me of something we were seeing in May?

  50. Good clutch 2 run hit for Jerry.

  51. trublu4ever says:

    Nice…more, more, I want more!

  52. What are these? Runs?

  53. Puig’s doing much better at taking a walk.

  54. trublu4ever says:

    Oh, my!

  55. Maybe I should’ve started bitching about the hitting a few games ago.

    Oh wait, I did.

  56. Now the question is, can Nolasco make them stand up?

  57. A ground out RBI by Ethier and a two run single by Skip. I hope this exites Nolasco.

  58. Maybe this 6-0 lead has something to do with the Cardinal pitching tonight but I’m happy about it.

  59. nedisajerk says:

Well Shelby Miller is a good young pitcher.

  60. What is it about Dee that he just can’t field? Its not like he doesn’t have the ability.

  61. Another run. Can always use them.

  62. I don’t like this.

  63. lbirken says:

The Dodgers will need every run they can get tonight.

  64. trublu4ever says:

Way to go Dre & Schu!

  65. Back to a 6 run lead.

  66. lbirken says:

Another game for the bullpen to preserve.

  67. PHEW!!!
We have a 5run lead but it doesn’t feel like it. to me.

  68. We need Cardinal outs.

  69. Think Donnie sticks League in there in the ninth so he can “get back his confidence”?

  70. Nice to see Crawford get a few hits.

  71. lbirken says:

    Wow, 3walks for Puig.

  72. trublu4ever says:

By the way…my guy had a pretty good night also 😉

  73. Enough runs for League now? 🙂

  74. OH ANDRE” You did it.

  75. lbirken says:

Do we know have a League proof lead?

  76. lbirken says:

Do you think Kershaw wonders where these runs are when he pitches?

  77. lbirken says:

You know your in trouble when a catcher is called into pitch.

  78. How do you walk a guy in the 9th with a 9-run lead? Maybe Marmol’s pitches ought to come with a red-tipped cane so they can find the plate.

    • trublu4ever says:

Why the hell don’t we just release him!

      • He’s another one of Ned’s great “finds.” First, he spent no time in the minors refining his delivery. Second, he sucked in the games he pitched in the minors. So naturally, third, Ned brings him up to the big club. Evidently for comic relief even though League didn’t need the competition.

  79. And we sent down Fife…

  80. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. And we win!!

  81. trublu4ever says:

I am pleased that we got 2 of 3 from this good team,

  82. No worse than a split now, and that’s alright.

  83. What does Marmol say?

  84. Another series we CAN’T lose.

  85. JhallWally says:

    Woo-Hoo, win streak!!!!!

  86. koufax1963 says:

I have been really impresses by our bench, Hairston, schomacher, punto, they all play like they have something to prove. They want the ring. And a healthy Dre makes my day, he has really done well with kemp out, and what will our OF revolve around when kemp is put in?

  87. The D’backs really look like a tough team last night against the Rays, so it looks to be a dogfight for our guys the rest of the way.
    GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  88. lbirken says:

Interesting how the “makeshift” lineups have done so well not just this season but also l the last couple of seasons.

  89. Time to go back to the field.

  90. vl4eccjr says:

Wow! This Martinez kid can bring some heat!

  91. nedisajerk says:

RIP to that Dodgers fan Joshua Jones glad he met Kemp.

  92. Great base running and then O’reliable A-Gon comes through again.

  93. koufax1963 says:

That should of been uribe’s money at bat.

  94. vl4eccjr says:

Crawford’s really having a nice road trip.

  95. vl4eccjr says:

    WTG A.J.!!!

  96. A.J. with a 3 run HR, his 6th HR of the year.

  97. ZonaDodger says:

    Awesome AJ

  98. trublu4ever says:

    Nice but, I want more!

  99. vl4eccjr says:

    Nice solid start for Ryu.
I’d say he’s making a good bid for ROY. .

  100. A much better outing for Ryu than his last.
He was very good this time.

  101. trublu4ever says:

Boy 3 of 4 from a supposedly great team….feeling great!

  102. Amazing for Jansen retiring 27 batters in a row before Freese’s hit.

  103. vl4eccjr says:

    A very successful road trip!

  104. ZonaDodger says:

Nice win boys..Jansen is awesome 🙂 Rays should be a good series

  105. crash24now says:

Still hot. Incredible that they could take 3 of 4 from the Careds without Hanley.

Some day, Hanley will be back. Imagine a hot Hanley in this order:

    hot Crawford
    hot Puig
    butter ‘n egg Gonzalez
    hot Hanley
    resurgent Ethier

All of this on top of the best starting four pitchers in baseball. I like it!

  106. grizzy says:

A lot of us would have been satisfied with a split, but we get a series win instead. Hell of a good road trip.
Major downer about the Jones kid. Sorry to see that.

  107. lbirken says:

Impressive road trip with a bunch of long games in hot weather that seemed to drag. The Dodgers just continue to grind out wins. And these are the “dog days” of the season. Keep it going!
