This is one park I’d love to see.

  2. trublu4ever says:

Go Dodgers! I’m a little miffed Dre isn’t in lineup tonight…however, still have to get it done!

  3. Hi Everybody]
Time to start anew(if that’s the way it’s spelled).

  4. trublu4ever says:

Damn…not the start I was hoping for…have to come from behind again.

  5. The Cubs draw first blood back to back Lake & Rizzo.

  6. lbirken says:

Let’s hope the Dodger bats come alive today.

  7. trublu4ever says:

    I C U drives in 2! yes!

  8. Nice clutch 2 run double by HAN RAM.

  9. Looks like the Lake is overflowing.

  10. lbirken says:

    Too many LOB so far.

  11. Great hit by Jerry driving in 2.

  12. trublu4ever says:

    Nice!

  13. vl4eccjr says:

I just finished watching the Rangers spank the Snakes.
Darvish sure was dialed in tonight. . .

  14. A-Gon puts us up by 2.

  15. lbirken says:

Comeback #2 tonight. Bullpen will get a workout.

  16. lbirken says:

Good TV analysis showing Puig’s bad break from second base.

  17. lbirken says:

Thank you Navarro is so slow.

  18. trublu4ever says:

    No-No, Paco!

  19. lbirken says:

Time for a Dodger home run.

  20. PUIG gets us an insurance run. 11 HRs.

  21. trublu4ever says:

Very gritty win! I love it!

  22. crash24now says:

Jansen was so unhappy that the team lost yesterday, that he just had to strike out the side in the ninth tonight.

  23. lbirken says:

Impressive win considering getting into Chicago early this morning and the quiet bats the last few days. Fortunately all the Cubbie home runs came with no one on base. Not much rest with an afternoon game tomorrow.

  24. We need as many as these wins while the D-backs lose as we can get.

  25. kahliforni says:

Not looking forward to the House of Horrors known as Busch Stadium. Can’t ever remember a time when the Dodgers had their way in St. Louis. Just one of those places that has their number.

  26. nedisajerk says:

    Games Played

    6. Lopez (COL) 53

    8. Rodriguez (LAD) 52
    Dunn (MIA) 52

    Melancon (PIT) 52

Not what I want to see here.

    • crash24now says:

Kevin Kennedy said this was one of the main reasons to sign Brian Wilson. Our top three relievers are over-worked, which won’t play well as the season progresses into the last two months. I hope Wilson works out.

  27. lbirken says:

Find me a bullpen that is not overworked with the way the game is played and managed, at least in the NL. Managers will do just about anything to win, even giving players days off whether it is a position player or relief pitcher.

  28. PUIG quickly put us 1 up.

  29. crash24now says:

Go Puig! Way to get the job done, filling in for Hanley at cleanup.

  30. crash24now says:

Nice double play. Now finish ’em off, Ryu.

  31. Two doubles in a row off Ryu, for a Cub run, he doesn’t look too sharp today, yet.

  32. Talk about two consecutive doubles the Dodgers answer back for a run thanks to PUNTO.

  33. trublu4ever says:

To be honest….the home plate Ump sucks….if he’s calling borderline pitches balls every time, he will call them on Ryu too…not good!

  34. lbirken says:

With both pitchers racking up high pitch counts both bull pens will probably see action today.

  35. Well That’s baseball.

  36. lbirken says:

Ellis had a legitimate gripe on that pitch.

  37. Wood just didn’t have anything.

  38. lbirken says:

If nothing else the Dodgers sure make it interesting running the bases.

  39. Time to put the Cubs out of their misery.

  40. nedisajerk says:

Donny got ejected again, that’s twice in 3 days.

  41. Not that I’m complaining mind you, but does this umpire remotely have a clue as to what a strike zone is?

  42. Ryu is being hit pretty well so far today in this 5-2 game.

  43. nedisajerk says:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Porter

Oh I see a young guy been umping in the major since 2010.

  44. Great going Punto 2 RBI.. got that last Cub run back.

  45. nedisajerk says:

Maybe we should had just walk Lake.

  46. Ryu seemed to be just navigating through those 5 innings. Luckily the Cub pitching has been worse.

  47. lbirken says:

At the rate this game is going it will become a night game.

  48. Gillespie’s 3 for 3.

  49. Ryu was so-so today.
    Let’s go J.P.

  50. OH-OH need a DP, that’ll help.

  51. lbirken says:

That is it for me. This game has taken too much time for me to be able to continue watching. Hang in there.

  52. nedisajerk says:

Omg another hit for Lake and another lead off hit.

  53. We’re seeing League, can Marmol be far behind?

  54. Another nice inning for League.

  55. nedisajerk says:

Urgh Hillman stop bad move save him for tomorrow.

  56. crash24now says:

Who will close this out? I’d go with Withrow.

  57. Now we need a good outing from Marmol.
    Go Marmol.

  58. crash24now says:

Ugghhh – it looks like it will be Marmol. Just what we need – lots of baserunners and then a long ball.

  59. nedisajerk says:

I got a bad feeling is Marmol.

  60. nedisajerk says:

Geez another freaking lead off hit.

  61. WOW a bad pitch and we get Borbon trying to go to 3rd,
    1 OUT.

  62. crash24now says:

Here we go – a free pass.

  63. We finally got Lake 2 OUT.

  64. nedisajerk says:

That make me sick and he had him on an 0-2 pitch.

  65. crash24now says:

Two outs – it’s not pretty but we’re getting there.

  66. trublu4ever says:

Not pretty but, I’ll take it!

    • JhallWally says:

      Woo-Hoo, pretty win streak… I don’t know what wasn’t pretty?
Our starter kept us in the game thru 5 (I agree, 6 would have been prettier), the bullpen was beautiful, and, the offense got us 6 runs (very pretty in my book). I’d say it was a nice team win. Anyway, I’ll take it, pretty or not… They all look the same in the win column…….

Let’s sweep this series….. Hope we get the good Cap today….

      • trublu4ever says:

The home plate umpire was pathetic…Marmol was lucky to escape….just scary at times…..never felt the lead was big enough…glad I was wrong.

        • JhallWally says:

Thanks Tru, I see where you are coming from… Sounds like a butt squeezer regardless of the score…. Anytime Marmol and League are involved, it will be a nail biter…. The box score doesn’t have a category for pucker factor… LOL!!!! Maybe they should?

  67. ZonaDodger says:

Nice win boys….Glad Marmol had an ok outing…Not good but didn’t give up runs

  68. I think this outing was good for Marmol’s psyche.
The Dodgers have just tied a franchise record with there 11 straight road win set in 1925,

  69. crash24now says:

Victory – 12 in a row on the road! Not even Marmol could screw that up. Never a doubt. 🙂

  70. Missed today’s game, but have enjoyed everyone’s comments. Sounds like the game was a real roller coaster ride. And in the end, we win again! It is a good day 🙂

  71. koufax1963 says:

The Dodgers are just fun to follow now! Contributions from all over the chosen 25!!!

  72. 32and53fan says:

Marmot still has good velocity and movement. I just hope he can achieve consistent command.

    • crash24now says:

Marmol has never achieved consistent command. He has achieved consistent lack of command. Here are his walks per nine innings, by season in the MLB.

      2006 ______6.9
      2007 ______4.5
      2008 ______4.2
      2009 ______7.9
      2010 ______6.0
      2011 ______5.8
      2012 ______7.3
      2013 ______6.8

  73. lbirken says:

That was a tough win today. Not pretty, not glamorous, but definitely the kind of game that a good team wins.

  74. crash24now says:

What is this, a throw-away game? Sure, A-Gon needs a rest every once in a while. But why rest A-Gon, Ellis, Ellis, and Uribe all on the same day, while Cupaguano is pitching? I guess this team doesn’t want to break the Brooklyn Robins record of 12 straight road wins.

The one bright spot? We get to see what happens when Hanley bats third, right after Puig. That will be a treat.

    • He got away with resting Hanley and Crawford yesterday. FedEx is Cap’s catcher now, so that was a given with AJ. Mellis and Agon eh, SVS has swung a decent bat in the couple games he’s played and Schu has been pretty decent too. There never has been any rhyme nor reason to when Uribe starts. Anyway, IT IS the Cubs.

  75. lbirken says:

I am sure Mattingly does not care about road winning streaks. He wants to win every game. I also think Donnie, as many managers do, manages games that have not been played yet. With the next series taking place in a usually hot and humid Saint Louis, Donnie is no doubt trying to reserve as much energy as he can. There never seems to be a good time to rest any regular. He seems to like to get it done all at once so he does not have to keep rotating players. Of course, what I say does not make it right and I suspect there are lots of opinions on how to manage lineups among MLB managers, past and current.

The good news is these lineups have a way of working more often than not and the Dodgers seem to be grinding it out anyway. I hope today is different and they can get a big lead and hold it but that is not the way they are playing right now.

  76. Hi Everybody
Well it’s Audio only, for me, again this Satuurday with Charlie & Rick.

  77. lbirken says:

Is it my imagination that the Dodgers make a lot of outs on the base paths?

  78. lbirken says:

    Another missed opportunity.

  79. Craps is a hard guy to figure out. Terrible one outing, terrific the next. He’s got that sinker going today though.

  80. lbirken says:

Good Dodger defense today. The double plays have helped Cappy, although he has done a good job anyway.

  81. lbirken says:

Finally! Crawford gets a hit and drives in 2.

  82. ZonaDodger says:

Nice 2B FedEx…Nice hit there CC

  83. ZonaDodger says:

    Come on Hanley….Darn

  84. lbirken says:

Happy with the lead but the Dodgers have left a bunch of guys on base again today.

    • trublu4ever says:

At least you are able to watch the Dodgers….Fox is showing the A’s game in my area. I think I will have the same problem next Saturday…Giants are playing at the same time….I hate when the games are on Fox!

  85. A very good outing for Cappy.

  86. vl4eccjr says:

    League? With runners on?

  87. lbirken says:

Dodger double plays have saved the day so far.

  88. lbirken says:

Puig’s day is over. Here is what he did today: jumped into the wall attempting to catch a foul ball (he didn’t because the ball hit the wall first), another hard, bumpy slide into third base and a successful dive for a ball going to his right in right field where is glove hand made one of those ugly twists. Just another day at the office for him.

  89. Beli didn’t do too good.

  90. lbirken says:

    Whew #2!

  91. ZonaDodger says:

    Nice going Paco…Phew

  92. ZonaDodger says:

    Whew i meant

  93. It’s Jansen Time….Go Kenley.

  94. And THAT’S how you close out the ninth.

  95. ZonaDodger says:

    Sweet win boys

  96. trublu4ever says:

    Awesome!

  97. lbirken says:

What a difference for the Dodgers. It was not that long ago when the team could not win on national broadcasts whether ESPN or Fox. The talk was more about the nonsense with ownership than the play on the field. Now the Dodgers seem to win most of these games and all the talk is positive. The games may be close but the team grinds out wins. Let’s get another win tomorrow.

  98. vl4eccjr says:

WOW! Let’s see if they can complete the sweep tomorrow!

  99. I actually like Donnie going to a 6-man rotation throwing Fife tomorrow to go with his 4 best in St.L. I’ll be happy with a split there.

  100. trublu4ever says:

Rockies & Giants lost also…pushes hem farther back…love it!

  101. Just read that the Dodgers have placed League on waivers after the game today. Guess they’re clearing the roster for Fife to come back tomorrow. I was wondering what the move might be.

  102. kahliforni says:

Not sure what to think about League. Putting him on waivers simply means just that…but he is still on the big league roster and the Dodgers can pull him back if a club claims him. That said, if he clears waivers he can become part of a trade. His recent success may have teams interested in him as a possible closer. Brian Wilson’s performance over the next week will have a lot to say about League’s future. It can’t be contract thing…current Dodger ownership is immune to costs.

  103. grizzy says:

A split in St Louis would be great, considering how difficult it is for the Dodgers there.
    *
I’m holding my breath on Puig’s wrist injury, but the way he goes about it it’ll be just a matter of time before something serious happens. I think Mota could be the one to get him to back off to 110%

    • JhallWally says:

I think we are going to get a split at least… I’m thinking we can take 3 of 4….. Should be a good indicater of where this team really is… I’m looking forward to it…. They are a very good team, but not great… They’ve got holes… I like our chances…

But first things first, let’s sweep the Cubs……

  104. ZonaDodger says:

Let’s sweep the Cubs boys….Yes I’d be happy with a split in St.Louis

  105. I will join you possibly later in today’s game.
Come on Dodgers make it 14 straight on the road.

  106. ZonaDodger says:

    Need more runs guys

  107. ZonaDodger says:

    Fife looking good today

  108. messagebear says:

Withrow is looking good as well, and I’m impressed with Fife’s control. You can never have too much good pitching.

  109. ZonaDodger says:

Man i hope Hanley is ok

  110. trublu4ever says:

    How sweep it is!

  111. ZonaDodger says:

Nice win boys….We going to need more then 1 run and 2 hits in St.Louis folks lol

  112. I watched the last 2 innings on my big screen in my parlor where there’s no computer. Nothing happened anyway, except we won again. What’s that 14 in a row on the road?
I just hope Hanley won’t be out too long.

  113. lbirken says:

Hopefully Hanley will be o.k. and can play in St. Louis. The Dodgers need him in the lineup.

  114. crash24now says:

It didn’t look like Hanley was going that fast when he flipped over the wall. Maybe he hit a chair the wrong way. I’m hoping the shoulder problem isn’t serious. Also hoping to see Puig back within a couple days.

  115. JhallWally says:

Any word on HRamierez???? Geez, I hope he is OK.. He is the one guy besides Kersh we can’t afford to lose to make a serious WS run……

  116. JhallWally says:

    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/08/dodgers-designate-ted-lilly-for-assignment.html

Thank you god… Lilly is one of the most self absorbed washed up pitchers I can ever remember… Wouldn’t go to the minors for rehab starts… Geez… I love it, he is designated to make a spot on the roster for Elian Herrera…. LOL….

    • trublu4ever says:

Saw this about Lilly yesterday and, had a drink of cheer 😉 Hanley posted that he will be okay. However, we shall see after his MRI today. Hoping for the best….Puig is good to go the last I heard.

      • JhallWally says:

LOL!!! Yep, the sooner Lilly is gone the better. Thanks for the update Tru… You’re awesome…. 🙂

We really need Puig and HRam to be alright…

  117. messagebear says:

A-Rod is likely to make a fool out of Selig just as McCourt did before him. It was against MLB rules to manipulate a bankruptcy the way that Frank did, and A-Rod will laugh his way to the bank the same way. Selig is the guy who should be banned for life, or at least until he grows a couple of cajones.

  118. JhallWally says:

By the way, a serious way to go to Fife and the bullpen.. Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!
