Must admit, I’m nervous about this series with the Reds. However, with Zack tonight, I think we’ll get this one.

  2. crash24now says:

    Dodgers DFA Ted Lilly.

  3. Even though Lilly wasn’t helping this team, I have to say truthfully it’s sad to see him go. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s best for the team but I’m still a little sad.

    • messagebear says:

I’m sad too – sad that the guy who signed him isn’t leaving with him.

      • JhallWally says:

LOL!!! Exactly Bear… They need to designate Nedcompoop for the loony bin and fire his ass.. Most of his deals have been insanely stupid….

  4. One thing for sure, we don’t have to worry about falling out of first place tonight.

  5. Xavior Paul says Hello.

  6. Cesar Izturis also says hello.
This is like X Dodger night.

  7. enchantedbeaver says:

Figured on a dud tonight – travel all night to face Latos and a good Reds line-up. I’ll be happy with a split between the Reds and Yanks.

  8. vl4eccjr says:

The Dodger offense had gone into a slumber tonight. . .

  9. vl4eccjr says:

    Why Marmol?

  10. vl4eccjr says:

  11. As we all know we’re not going to win them all.

  12. lbirken says:

While I want to win every game, as I am sure the players do, we all know that will not happen. The key is not to let a loss affect what happens next. The goods news is the Dodgers still had chances last night and unlike the two games before, just could not get it done. I am sure the players will not use the long night of travel as an excuse. All teams go through this and Zach was already in L.A. Just not his night.

  13. trublu4ever says:

Hold your breath Dodger fans…..Colletti is “intrigued” by former Giant Brian Wilson.

  14. koufax1963 says:

    Lets GO Dodgers!!!

  15. Time to resume our quess.

  16. Hanley did a good job of stealing 2nd and going to 3rd on Ethier’s flyout but too bad he failed to score.

  17. vl4eccjr says:

    Thanks Hanley!!

  18. The Reds just got Hanleyed.

  19. Now if Clayton can keep it up.

  20. We need another zero up there by Kersh.

  21. vl4eccjr says:

Some insurance runs would be nice. . .

  22. Finger crossing time.

  23. trublu4ever says:

    YES, YES, YES……I LOVE L.A. !!!!

  24. vl4eccjr says:

    Great pitching tonight!

  25. Dodger4life says:

    Woo Hoo!!

  26. Dodger4life says:

I spent a month visiting friends up in the Seattle area, so I have been a little sidetracked as far as keeping in touch and all.

This is one fun team right now.!

    I believe…

    I believe…

    Oh boy,

    Do I believe!!!

  27. Just finished my first place ice cream – it’s so good!!

  28. Dodger4life says:

Have a scoop for me spark. It’s been over 100, darn near every day and my air conditioning is broken in the hoopty. So my first place ice cream is on hold at the moment!

  29. ZonaDodger says:

Great game last night….Way to go Kersh and Hanley

  30. lbirken says:

Another gutty performance from Kersh last night. There was a lot of energy at the stadium and the crowd was really into the game. When Donnie went to the mound in the 8th inning I really thought he would lift Kershaw. In fact, we were surprised he let Clayton even take the mound in the first place. The crowd cheered loudly when Clayton was left to finish the inning and cheered even more when he got the third out and walked to the dugout. It was great to be at the ballpark.

By the way, the fireworks show after the game is always better when the Dodgers win but this particular show was the best. There were a number of firework effects we had never seen before. A big thank you to the Dodgers for keeping these shows fresh and top notch.

  31. ZonaDodger says:

    And Kenley 🙂

  32. trublu4ever says:

Carl has a bad case of the flu….that’s why he isn’t in the lineup….just hope it doesn’t spread through the clubhouse.

  33. Puig and Hanley are unbelievable.

  34. Damn Babe Ruth, I mean Jay Bruce ties it up.

  35. trublu4ever says:

  36. Now Ryu has to put up a zero.

  37. Ol’ Reliable A-GON gets us another run.

  38. Let’s go gettum Kenley.

  39. trublu4ever says:

AWESOME!……Dbacks lost big which makes it even sweeter!

  40. Let’s hope Cappy brings his A Game tomorrow.

  41. ZonaDodger says:

    Nice win boys

  42. Here we go again. The question is, “How will Cappy do today?
We’ll have to wait and find out.

    • lbirken says:

Might be a bit premature to compare Jansen with Rivera but there is little doubt the Dodgers have a premier closer.

  43. I thought the Reds were going to break the ice there but the Dodgers did a great job to prevent it.

  44. Cappy really pitched his A Game, I hope Beli can hold them.

  45. lbirken says:

Cappy did a great job. Can the offense score some runs?

  46. lbirken says:

Puig will have a lot of undermining video to study following this series.

  47. ZonaDodger says:

Surprised Cap pitched a good game….Come on boys

  48. lbirken says:

That should say base running video.

  49. It’s comforting knowing that the D-backs have lost.

  50. lbirken says:

Both teams have had a chance but here we are scoreless in the 9th. Third game in row for Jansen.

  51. enchantedbeaver says:

See Donnie’s blowing through the pen so we can get to League and Marmol in extras. Hate seeing them waste a great game by Crappy.

  52. lbirken says:

Bailed out by a close double play. Come on Dodger hitters, score a run.

  53. lbirken says:

Got a break on that bunt.

  54. lbirken says:

Wow, 19 Dodger hitters down on K’ s today with a chance for more.

  55. enchantedbeaver says:

Great decision to sacrifice in front of Dre to take the bat out of his hands and put it in Uribe’s.

This is the most futile I can ever recall a Dodgers team being striking out.

  56. lbirken says:

League got the job done. Save us from Marmol and win it now.

  57. trublu4ever says:

    • JhallWally says:

Woo-Hoo, Puig streak….. Absolutely outstandings for Cap, the bullpen, and, need I say, Puig…..

      Totally sweet…..

  58. enchantedbeaver says:

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down…

  59. lbirken says:

  60. ZonaDodger says:

Nice win boys….Way to many K’s lol

  61. vl4eccjr says:

WOW! Do we know drama, or what?!
    WTG Puig!!!

  62. crash24now says:

    Great game today!

  63. Dodgers win, up 2 1/2 games. Gnats lost, still in the basement. Life is good today. Looking forward to my plate of mocha almond fudge ice cream tonight 🙂

  64. PuigLover aka MartinLoneyKemp says:

    PUIG! PUIG!! PUIG!!!

  65. JhallWally says:

As much as I have been down on Andre for his production the last 2 years, I have to say, I think he is the glue holding our outfield, and maybe the team, together…..He has been doing everything asked of him very admirably, with no complaints… Playing a nice center field in Kemps absence…. I think he is having some influence with the young Puig as well. Stuff in the clubhouse that we don’t hear about and are not privvy to.

I think he is earning his salary and I am glad we didn’t let him go..

  66. Dodger4life says:

I’ve heard it said in the past that 200 at bats is a good gauge to tell where a rookie is at in his quest to prove he belongs in the show.
Well folks Yasiel Puig, is sitting at 188 at bats heading into the home and home series tomorrow with the Yankee’s.
His current era after 48 games played is an astonishing .372. He has a mere 10 home runs, none more powerful than the walk off, he so energetically pulled off in the final game of the Reds series.
He has a paltry 23 rbi’s, did I say paltry? That is almost an rbi every other game and considering he hit lead off with no one on base for a while… I’d be willing to front him the lone rbi needed.
He has demonstrated speed, beating out infield ground balls to first base. He has run down balls that seem destined to find land in the outfield and he has shown the rest of MLB, how valuable having a cannon for an arm can be.
His hustle and happy go lucky attitude, has rejuvenated some of the best players in the game at a time when nothing else seemed to be working.
The thing that gets me, is he is still raw as far as being refined as a big league player. Don’t believe me? Just ask the guy sitting next to you in the stands, they’ll tell you Yasiel needs to do this and Yasiel needs to do that.
Yasiel Puig is one sick ballplayer, whether it be sick like a mad scientist, or sick like someone trying to overcome a bad hangover. He is just 12 short at bats away from shattering baseball’s temperature gauge.

  67. crash24now says:

One of my favorite non-Dodger players has passed away. George “Boomer” Scott. Rest in peace. May you hit many taters in heaven.

  68. lbirken says:

I am also quite impressed with Andre Ethier and said so a while ago. He seems to be comfortable where he is hitting in the lineup and his play in centerfield has been much better than expected. I also believe he has been a good influence on Puig and I commend Andre for having to play center with different people playing left and the inexperienced Puig in right. His numbers may not show it but his contributions to the team’s current streak of success are right up there with Hanley, Agon and Puig.

  69. koufax1963 says:

A rest, the yankees, so much fun coming! Rise up Dodgers! Clinch the division in August. Shots around!
