    Very nervous about this series.

  2. trublu4ever says:

    Matt going on the DL.

    • crash24now says:

That’s both good and bad. Good? The realization that he’s got a problem, and we can fill the bench with an able bodied guy (Scott Van Slyke?). Bad – he’s out for at least 15 days, worry that it will be much longer.

  3. trublu4ever says:

Just heard Fife on DL..shoulder bursitis…..Crappy to pitch Thursday….damn!

  4. kahliforni says:

Crummy news on Kemp…I really doubt with Donnie, Ned, Uribe, M. Ellis, Capuano/Lilly, the “mini” bench, etc., etc. that this club is within the grasp of a title. Just shut Kemp down for 2013 and let him heal properly…why further aggravate an already lost season for the guy? Kemp is still your franchise, along with Kershaw, Puig notwithstanding. And to everyone calling for Ethier’s head, give thanks he’s still here and healthy. I still say Ethier will re-bloom under a new manager.

  5. trublu4ever says:

Scotty just got beamed up 😉

  6. Hi Everybody
This could be one of the biggest series of the year.

  7. Thanks to URIBE, the Dodgers draw first blood.

  8. Nicr batting around to make 3-0

  9. vl4eccjr says:

Crawford sure has been a big offensive dud since he came off the DL. . .

    • trublu4ever says:

…see, I told you. Ad, everyone wanted Dre gone…he’s hitting over 300 since Puig joined us.

      • trublu4ever says:

…not to mention, Dre is a much better defensive player.

        • vl4eccjr says:

Dre has a better arm than Crawford for sure. He’s done well lately. As long as he stays healthy, and if Kemp & Crawford keep going on the DL, I don’t see him going anywhere soon.

      • JhallWally says:

🙂 I can’t say that I was not on board with trading Ethier… Mostly, two to three years ago…. When his value was at its highest and we could have gotten a decent haul of prospects.. That is no longer the case… Mainly because of his ill advised and ridiculous contract…

However, Andre has a real chance to step up and earn his money… So far, he is doing a pretty good job of it… I just wish Dildon would bat him 2nd……. He is not a power hitting, rbi guy…

  10. lbirken says:

Hard to believe the injury bug is still alive and well within the Dodger organization. This game can be cruel. Fife survives being sent back down (remember, he has options) after the trade for Nolasco only to land on the DL for bursitis. Kemp shows a bit of life after coming off the DL and be part of the team’s revival only to find himself back on the DL. What gives?

  11. trublu4ever says:

Way to go Dre & AJ!

  12. lbirken says:

Wow, Vinny sounded a bit like Charlie Steiner on that ball Ethier hit, obviously not quite sure where the ball was going. But no matter, just another example of how Andre has become to this team.

  13. lbirken says:

Woops, of how valuable Andre has become to this team.

  14. Nice Clutch hitting by Andre & AJ,

  15. vl4eccjr says:

Think Greinke might have another inning left in his tank?

  16. vl4eccjr says:

Crawford must be feeling like the third wheel. On the outside looking in. The only one in the line up without a hit. 😦

  17. trublu4ever says:

    Go get ’em Paco!

  18. 32and53fan says:

Greinke pitched great tonight. I hope he can keep it up. The bats are still pretty warm.
    A SWEEP would be SWEET!

  19. trublu4ever says:

    Yes….we win!

  20. vl4eccjr says:

    Chalk up another ‘W!’

  21. Dominquez made it interesting but we got the BIG WIN.

  22. lbirken says:

Would have liked the shutout but will be happy with a big win. Great performance tonight from Greinke on the mound and at the plate. It was also good to see a smiling and energetic Andre Ethier on the post game show. Looking forward to tomorrow’s game.

  23. WOW Just 2 games under .500 at 43-45.

  24. JhallWally says:

Great start… Gotta win this series with the Snakes….. It’s do or die time for our playoff hopes….. IMO

  25. crash24now says:

When the heck will Carl “The Perfect Storm” Crawford get a hit?

When he went down with his hammy onto the DL, he was still hitting just fine. In fact, in his last pre-DL game on June 1st, he had two doubles in two at bats.

Since he came back, sitting in the leadoff position, he has done almost exactly zero.

    Friday – 0-3 with a walk, a run and 1 K.
    Sat – 0-4 with 2 Ks
    Sun – 0-4 with 1 K
    Mon – 0-5 with 3 Ks

What a bum. I’m sure he’s a little rusty, but this is ridiculous. Either he starts getting on base, or Donnie needs to pull the plug.

    • messagebear says:

These big contract guys are never asked to do reasonable rehab time in the minors after coming off DL. It’s like they belong back in the majors no matter that it may take weeks to get their timing back. That’s our management style.

      • lbirken says:

I am not so sure the Dodgers are the only club that can be “accused” of this. There also may be rules on how long a player can be in rehab minor league games.

  26. trublu4ever says:

    Good job Ricky!

  27. We got good hitting pitchers. (lol)

  28. crash24now says:

Crawford is 0-18 since returning from the DL.

  29. crash24now says:

Ethier extends his hitting streak to eight games. Not a lot of power, but he’s getting the job done, including covering center field.

  30. messagebear says:

Must say that I’m impressed with Nolasco so far. He has quite an assortment of pitches and various speeds – I’ve seen from 75 to 92 mph, and he has good control of them. Much easier to watch than Capuano or Lilly.

  31. vl4eccjr says:

Puig has to learn to look & not run past stop signs! He could have scored on that long fly.

  32. That was wild A-GON a SF8 and all hell broke loose then Puig thrown out at the plate but we get two more runs.

  33. crash24now says:

    Big hit – WTG, Adrian!

  34. trublu4ever says:

    YO, ADRIAN!

  35. A-GON comes through once again.

  36. crash24now says:

Good effort by Puig on that ball. He’s mad at himself, but he almost got it – would have been a great catch.

  37. Nolasco seemed to be hit pretty hard there in the 7th.

  38. lbirken says:

I too have been impressed with Nolasco so far. I knew nothing about him but I agree with Bear. Lilly and Cappy just drive me crazy with all that slow nibbling sort of stuff. Anyway, the Dodgers have received some breaks tonight and are looking more like a team with a purpose.

  39. 32and53fan says:

I just started to watch the game on my DVR, which is the main reason that I don’t comment much during the game. In the dugout before the game, Ethier and Hanley were shaking hands and fist bumping players, coaches, even the bat boy. When Hanley got to Trey Hillman, he fist bumped him, then reached toward Hillman with his hand spread open. Trey swatted it away, Hanley reached again and Hillman shoved Ramirez backwards with two hands. Hanley walked out of frame looking very disturbed and Trey looked angry. Hillman kept staring at a point off screen with the same pissed off look. Hanley walked into frame past the bench coach, when Hillman swung at Hanley like he was trying to knock the cap off his head and Ramirez kept walking. At no point did either of them have a smile on their face.

Did any of you see this? I was watching the KCAL-9 feed. I wonder what was going on?

  40. Nolasco pitched quite a gem there.

  41. lbirken says:

Wow, Puig caught the ball with both hands. I hope he never drops on using that casual one handed catch he usually uses. Funny, I know many of us are thinking about how good Puig will be when he realizes he cannot make every play and take every base and hit every pitch. I am not so sure I ever want him to think otherwise but I do want him to make smart plays. So far, he seems to learn something from every mistake.

    • 32and53fan says:

Did you ever see the old three finger mitts like the one at AT&T Park? I had one fifty years ago and it was probably 20 years old at the time. It was very difficult to catch a ball one handed using that glove. That is where the “use two hands to catch the ball” started.

  42. Howell did a nice job there.

  43. Ninth inning coming up.

  44. Nellyjune says:

    Way to go Dodgers!!

  45. Dodgers are just 1 game under .500.

  46. trublu4ever says:

Beli nailed his ass…then closed it out…way to go!

    • JhallWally says:

Hi’Ya Tru.. Nice win… Had to give the Woo-Hoo to Nelly since she doesn’t come around much anymore……… LOL

      • Nellyjune says:

Hi Jhall! I have been reading most nights, but I’ve been spending most of my evenings at the gym (I’ve lost over 120 pounds since school started last year) so by the time I sit down to watch/listen to the game, it’s usually almost over or I’ve list control and have to suffer watching the Giants games. I will do my best to keep in touch more. I miss you all too! How’s Ohio these days?

  47. crash24now says:

Ryu goes for the sweep tomorrow.

  48. lbirken says:

Impressive wins considering where the Dodgers were less than two weeks ago and how well Arizona had been playing. The Dodgers are winning games they might have lost a few weeks back and are taking advantage of some of the breaks. Let’s hope this continues.

  49. kahliforni says:

The video with Hanley and Trey Hillman was bizarre. Looks like Hillman was in grouch mode. Even though I think this team has too many holes to be a finalist, at the very least they have finally become entertaining, thanks mainly to Puig, and Ramirez, too.

  50. Yippeee! Not only did the Dodgers win, but the gnats are back in the basement by .002 percentage points. Life is good 🙂

  51. It’s time to get those brooms out.

  52. JhallWally says:

    Now let’s sweep the bastards…………

  53. Just got in, I see we’re one down.

  54. kahliforni says:

Gotta love Vinny…getting all excited about hit-and-run, run-and hit, squeeze bunts with Punto…except Mattingly doesn’t know what those things are. He’ll make a heck of an American League manager someday–hopefully next year.

  55. trublu4ever says:

    I See You!

  56. vl4eccjr says:

Leaving a lot of men on base. . . .

  57. Ryu shouldn’t have to much more to go.

  58. vl4eccjr says:

    Rough inning for Ryu.

  59. crash24now says:

Gonna take some late inning heroics to get the job done. Let’s go, Dodgers!

  60. crash24now says:

    WTG, JP Howell!

  61. Nice clout by A-GON.

  62. vl4eccjr says:

    Last chance. . .

  63. 32and53fan says:

    Bot 9th, 3-2, 2 outs, A-Gon….walks
    Critical condition but still breathing…

  64. vl4eccjr says:

    WTG AJ!!
    Never say die!

  65. Great clutch hit by A.J

  66. Quite an AB by Mark Ellis.

  67. Great going Withrow.

  68. I’d say Withrow looks like a major league pitcher

  69. Withrow keeps wrolling along.

  70. vl4eccjr says:

    WTG Hanley!

  71. vl4eccjr says:

    WTG AJ!!
    Back to back jacks!!!

  72. 32and53fan says:

    Back to back!
Now Kenley just has to shut them down.

  73. crash24now says:

Back to Back! Come on Dre, give us the Turkey!

  74. It’s up to Kenley.

  75. trublu4ever says:

Awesome…this really is the New Blue!

    • JhallWally says:

Woo-Hoo, win streak!!! What a come back….. Thankfully it did not come down to using League….

  76. crash24now says:

Way to go, Jansen! Great team win! Great team sweep! Team effort all around!

I’ve changed my mind! This team is going to the World Freakin’ Series!

  77. vl4eccjr says:

    SWEEP!!!!

  78. Y…..E…..S
    At .500 and 1 1/2 games back.

  79. Nellyjune says:

I couldn’t stay awake to watch innings 12-14, but I was glad to wake up to find out the Dodgers completed the sweep! It’s amazing how all my friends who are Giants fans have become very quiet lately. They certainly let me know when the Dodgers were in last place. I guess they don’t like the feeling either 😊⚾💙

  80. enchantedbeaver says:

I woulda left these guys for dead with 2 outs in the ninth. Too bad today isn’t an off day after using up the pen. Cupaguano is going to have to take one for the team tonight with nothing but old Mother Hubbard the only rested arm.

  81. crash24now says:

Puig is not an All-Star this year. No bueno.
