Today’s match-up of Ryu vs. Hughes gives us the best chance even with a low scoring lineup. I don’t know who goes against whom tomorrow, but my inclination says “no chance”.
I also hear the predictions about how welcoming the NY fans will be for Donnie – I wish they’d keep the worthless bastard.

Hold your breath…hearing Cappy is going tomorrow…and, I also wish Donnie would stay in New York.

Emma (Crzblue) is in N.Y. And says it is raining cats and dogs. Accuweather reports thunderstorms and off and on rain all evening.

  4. JhallWally says:

Two with the Yankees, we need one of these, please…..

Gotta get at least one of these games….

Ryu gives us a good shot…

  5. JhallWally says:

    Fire Ned….. Please…

The man is an idiot and a baffoon….

I can live with Dildon… He is playing the hand that was dealt to him…

  6. messagebear says:

One thing noticeably absent this year from our discussions is the All Star game and potential Dodger selections – or more likely, no Dodger selections except for the required representation likely from the pitching staff. How is that possible from a payroll in excess of $200 million? Off hand I’d say you have to have a real idiot for a GM… Oh, Well.

    • JhallWally says:

      🙂 Amen Bear!!!

We have the village idiot of all idiots as our GM…..

    • JhallWally says:

Ned has been kicked out of the moron society….. Because he is an iditot.. The imbeciles don’t even claim him….

      Ned is a waste….

      • trublu4ever says:

Mattingly isn’t any better…injuries, or not, he has made in game moves that have cost us many games. And, geez, who else has a different lineup everyday?! I wouldn’t shed a tear if both he and Neddy stayed in New York!

        • I say kick ’em out of the plane as it flies over the Grand Canyon!

        • messagebear says:

Mattingly is an acceptable New York product – they love him there in spite of the fact that he never won anything for them; sound familiar? Ned, on the other hand, would never be acceptable in New York – he’d be such an embarrassment there to the fine Italian community. Ned might fit better in Chicago or San Francisco, although my recommendation for Ned would be Albuquerque, since he’s staffed that club over his years with so many PVL’s.

  7. 32and53fan says:

WTF? Dodgers imploded in the bottom of the 7th. Belisario really screwed the pooch.

  8. messagebear says:

    Beli SUCKS!
He ought to be sent down to pitch throw-away games at Rancho Cucamonga. Paco should join him to relieve Beli after Beli gets tired.

  9. messagebear says:

Just out of curiosity, has a manager ever been fired between games of a major league doubleheader?
Here’s our chance to set a record.

  10. lbirken says:

Bear, I doubt the Dodgers would fire Mattingly between games in New York. But that aside, today’s game is just another example of how frustrating this season has been so far. The starting pitching was not great but not all that bad, really bad defense, bad luck, balls hit hard but directly at fielders, rallies that fall short, trading runs for outs rather than driving in those runs without giving up outs, and phenom Puig taking a called strike pretty much over the plate to end the game.

The past week or so Kershaw, Ryu and Greinke have struggled. Belisario has really regressed. We all have seen League’s issues. Withrow has not exactly set the world on fire. Puig’s power seemed to have vanished and even his singles are hit so hard the slow runners already on base cannot score. Ethier has started to hit and his play in centerfield has been great but Gonzalez has dropped off a bit at the same time. Hanley is still not 100%. With all of this the Dodgers cannot put together any sort of winning streak. And they have to play two games today because of a rainout. Let’s hope the second game has a better result.

  11. It felt very strange for Kuroda to be pitching against the Dodgers. Part of me was happy he did so well, the other part was not. But, as usual, the team found another way to beat themselves. It’d be nice if we could win game 2.

  12. trublu4ever says:

    Game 2…..Cruz, really?!

  13. Glad Kuroda beat them. Never understood why they let him go unless it was to punish him for invoking his no trade provision on that deadline deal. Couldn’t have been the money. McCourt knew he was selling the team, so why would he care how much they paid him?, he wasn’t on the hook for it. That had to be a Ned, someone shit on his moustache spite move.

  14. lbirken says:

Nice turnaround so far in the second game. Cappy has been much better than expected and the offense has shown some life.

  15. Two bits says Donnie’s too stupid to leave Withrow in for the 3 inning save.

  16. lbirken says:

Those two innings by Withrow should certainly help his confidence. Good job, Chris.

  17. trublu4ever says:

You think a 6 run lead is enough for League? 😉

  18. lbirken says:

    League. This could be interesting.

  19. Heaven forbid he leave Withrow in.

Just amazing to think we have League for another 2 1/2 years.

    Sorry, make that depressing.

  20. I really thought our bullpen, hell our entire pitching staff would be better this year with Crim on the big league staff, but boy was I wrong.

  21. This dumbass can’t even throw strikes with 6 run lead and 2 outs in the ninth.

  22. lbirken says:

Loved camera shot of Donnie after League hit a batter. At least it didn’t make a difference. All in all, a good game. Long night ahead for the boys but a big series ahead in San Diego.

  23. trublu4ever says:

Long trip home and a very long 4 game series with the Padres….time to make the move if have any hopes of moving up thee ladder.

  24. An all too rare TEAM win in the second game. That’s the way Donnie and his coaching staff should have them playing all the time.

    • lbirken says:

The players still need to perform. Do you attribute Ethier’s recent play to anything Donnie and his coaches have done? Andre has done a terrific job in centerfield, probably better than anyone expected and he has started to swing the bat better. Withrow had two impressive innings yesterday after his previous appearances did not go so well. It will be interesting to see how the players do tonight after all the travel.

      • Individual performances in individual games I’d say no, but its Donnie’s and his staff’s job to prepare these guys to play the game at a major league level each and every day. Game 1 yesterday (and this entire season so far) has demonstrated just how ill prepared and lackadaisical he, Ned, Falsone and the rest of the coaching staff and FO have been in teaching, motivating, keeping healthy and leading this club. My guess is we’ll be seeing the same old BS from the team in SD because Donnie & Co. just don’t have the tools to do any better. Don’t know what got into them in game 2, but that is the level they should be playing period. Doesn’t mean they should be expected to win every game, but sound fundamental team baseball every game – yes. That’s Donnie’s responsibility.
