    Fire Mattingly ASAP!

    • messagebear says:

Yes, I think having now reached the landmark of 10 games under .500, there’s no excuse left for Donnie staying on any longer. Of course, he can point to Ned who should have been gone some years ago, but got a contract extension. This whole organization is so F’d up, it really belies the promise of new ownership – it’s the same old F’d up mess that Frank left behind.
Oh, you say that Frank never really left? Apparently not, if he can still wind up with ownership of the stadium and land surrounding it. Yes, it’s been a fraud perpetrated on the bankruptcy court, on MLB (not surprisingly), on Jamie (as she contends), and most of all on all the fans.

  2. trublu4ever says:

We sure are f’d up right now…I see no change real soon, unless something major (firings) happen.

  3. JhallWally says:

Well, here we are, 10 games under .500, 8.5 back, and 4 games in the cellar… Still think its early? Still think this team can make the playoffs? Better think again. This season is over, this team sucks… And, like Beav said, we need to start being sellers at the trade deadline…. After we fire Ned!!!!!

  4. I personnally disagree with what most of you have been saying about the Dodgers. Oh yes they are losing much than usual but I think at least part of the problem is that the opposition has improved immensely in my opion. The opposing pitching either knows how to pitch to the Dodgers for the best resuts or they are a better lot than what we’re use to facing.
The difficulty hitting with RISP could be due to pitchers baring down more on them at that time, along with trying too hard at the plate.
I’ve lost all hope of getting to the postseason but there’s still hope that the team will improve themselves, in some way, and who knows? May even have a terrific finish this year.

  5. Dodger4life says:

So whom do y’all think will be sent somewhere else, in the likely event we are sellers at the deadline.

I can’t see this bullpen improving enough to make any kind of strong showing between then and now, even if the offense somehow became productive.

  6. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Hi Everybody
As always the Dodgers have a good chance to win with Kershaw on the mound.

  7. oldbrooklynfan says:

Well the first 3 innings can be spelt one way BRANDON COMPTON.

  8. trublu4ever says:

    We will get to him.

  9. oldbrooklynfan says:

Ae last after 13 scoreless innings Skip knocks one in. Nice going guy.

  10. oldbrooklynfan says:

Way to go Andre’. We finally knock out C-U-mpton.

  11. lbirken says:

While I long for an extra base hit with runners on base, that was a nice bit of hitting for our embattled Andre Ethier, who also has done a good job filling in for Kemp in center field.

  12. lbirken says:

Nice catch by Schumaker in left field but a great camera shot of the Dodger fan shielding his face.

  13. trublu4ever says:

    Awesome catch, Schu!

  14. oldbrooklynfan says:

WOW Martin really came close on that drive to LF that Skip caught.

  15. The Pirates’ announcers are sure happy to see Kersh leave.

  16. Nice going for Withrow after giving up a hit and a walk.
    Com’on Paco.

  17. lbirken says:

Whew. The Withrow era has not gotten off to a very good start for the Dodgers.

    • vl4eccjr says:

I would have left him in there instead of bringing in Paco. It seemed like he was starting to get dialed in.

  18. Well we still have the lead.

  19. Here comes the Pirates 9th. Fingers crossed Dodger fans,

  20. trublu4ever says:

We do that a lot also šŸ˜‰

  21. trublu4ever says:

    Crap!

  22. Well Kenley blew it…Tie game.
    Wouldn’t you know it.

  23. lbirken says:

Can’t anyone close a game anymore? But I have to agree with the Dodger TV guys who pointed out how often the Dodgers get shut down offensively late in games that lead to these situations. Of course, when the Dodgers had Gagne and Broxton (when he was good) any lead was safe but not now.

  24. We still got a chance,

  25. vl4eccjr says:

    Gracias Juan!

  26. trublu4ever says:

    My boy doubles and scores!

  27. O.K. URIBE were back in front.

  28. League is alone in the ‘Pen.

  29. trublu4ever says:

Another blown call…hope it doesn’t bite us!

  30. vl4eccjr says:

    Whew!

  31. W E…………..W I N.

  32. koufax1963 says:

wow a come back, and a league save.

  33. trublu4ever says:

    Geez….that wore me out!

  34. messagebear says:

I sometimes catch myself making more comments after we lose than after a win. I must say I was pleased with the game today and especially the fact that Andre contributed so well. I’m sure that he must be down on himself the way the season has gone. I hope today is a bright spot that can carry him to somewhat of a silver lining before the season is over.

GOOD WIN, and go for the clincher tomorrow.

Of course, nothing stated above should be construed as anything positive for Ned, Donnie and the coaching staff. They all still need to have their heads roll.

  35. JhallWally says:

Woo-Hoo, win streak… Not pretty, but, a win is a win…. Still, our bullpen sucks, and our offense sucks… This team has major problems..

    Fire Ned!!!!!!!! Please…….

I said it years ago, this team will never win a WS with Nedcomshit as GM….

This team needs a major overhaul…. Starting with a new GM and manager.. And, a whole new training staff… Keep Lopes, maybe Wallach, and let the rest of them hit the road with Nedcomshit!!!!

  36. Really made the kid work that first inning – 7 pitches. What an offensive juggernaut we have.

  37. I also see on the twitter feeds on the side over here that Mattingly says Puig will probably remain in the big leagues even when Kemp and Crawford get back. Considering he’s only the best outfielder amongst the 4 that’s a real ringing endorsement.

Is it any wonder why this team is in last?

  38. Whoops, now 2-0 already. Guess that’s ballgame.

Anyway, to all the dads out there, Happy Father’s Day!!

  39. messagebear says:

Father’s Day would be such a good day to FIRE Donnie – he’s a mother… anyway.

If you want to be real sentimental about it, FIRE him tomorrow.
That way he’ll be in New York where he’s always belonged anyway.

  40. messagebear says:

And why is Cruz still around, other than he has no options left.
With his pathetic batting performance only Ned would care about that.

    • JhallWally says:

Spot on Bear. Put Cruz on waivers and send him down…. It was a nice feel good story last year, but, there is a reason he didn’t make it in the bigs…… If some team claims him, oh well, no great loss….. The bottom line is, Ned needs to be gone……..
He built this travesty with an unlimited budget… He is inept,…
Beav and I could have built a better team on a drunk……. Geez!!!!

  41. 32and53fan says:

It is getting bad when Kevin Kennedy is critical of Donnie’s decision to let Cruz bat with 2 outs and the bases loaded.

  42. Dodger4life says:

I have slept through the whole Pittsburgh series, somehow a nap seemed appropriate…

I’ll be headed to Seattle (Safeco Field is getting crossed of the bucket list) in a few hours, so I will miss the game today as well.

I think Donnie and hopefully Ned’s tenure is close to an end.
    .
    Enjoy the game y’all…
    .
    Beat them Yanks!!!

Oh yeah, I’m still a UCLA fan but I will also be rooting for this kid and his Oregon State Beavers

    Tyler Painton #25 6-4 LHP/IF

He is my cousin Tim’s boy…and I’m proud of him.

Go Beavers!! Go UCLA!! Go Dodgers!!

  43. HI folks
Well I’m preparing to go down to the Stadium for the series (not the WS). I’m getting down there when the gates open to see if I meet up with Ron (53) and Christina (85), for the Dodgers’ BP. TBW said he may not make it because of heath problems but he’ll give me a call if he decides to go.
It’s amazing the Dodgers haven’t been in the Bronx since ’81. It’s even more amazining that was 31 years ago. Where has the time went?
Let’s enjoy the day off and look forward to tomorrow night.
    GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  44. JhallWally says:

Hell, we are not only in last place in our division, we are 5.5 games into the cellar… This team would have to play close to .700 baseball the rest of the way to sniff the playoffs……

My point being, it is now time to fire Nedcomshit……………….
    Didon and Conte………….

Then start looking at ways to unload some of the overpaid and underachieving players we seem to have a plethora of……

    What a farce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • I don’t see firing both Donnie and Ned because firing Donnie means that Ned gave him good players and he failed to manage them correctly. If they fire Ned, than you can’t blame Donnie for not being able to manage the bad players Ned gave him. So It looks like ownership would have to decide between them. I don’t think you’ll ever see both of them get fired at the same time.
Since there have been injuries to key players, I don’t think either will get fired any time soon.

      • Problem is, every team has injuries to key players. We don’t have anything to replace them with, and that’s on Ned for “building” such a poor bench and raping the farm system. However, taking what he’s got and failing to use them the best way possible, that’s on Donnie. They’re both failing miserably at their appointed jobs. Ned’s done that for 7 years, Donnie for 3. The real question is, why haven’t they been replaced already?

  45. messagebear says:

Sorry, but I don’t expect anything great from our Dodgers the rest of this season even after all the ailing underachievers get back in the lineup. If Ned and Donnie stay, that same condition could prevail for as long as the ownership chooses to keep it up.

I do take delight in the fact that the Giants are failing too, albeit to a much lesser degree. As long as we don’t win the division, I don’t have a particular preference between the Diamondbacks, Rockies or Padres. I have to be astounded with the Padres’ performance. On paper I wouldn’t necessarily have any of their players other than Headley, but they’re getting the job done after a miserable start – quite the antithesis of a Ned and Donnie regime.

Have to agree with OBF that it’s unlikely that the ownership will make any management changes soon. That will probably just prolong myself, enchanted, and Wally getting on board with the Guggenheims.
