I’m going for the Orioles or Tigers.

  2. kahliforni says:

    Kemp’s surgery:

“During the 60-minute procedure at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles, Dr. Neal ElAttrache repaired a tear of the labrum in Kemp’s shoulder and some minor damage to the rotator cuff, the team said. Kemp will begin physical therapy in a week-to-10 days and is expected to start swinging a bat in early January.”

  3. trublu4ever says:

Boy, the umpires really blew that call!

  4. trublu4ever says:

Braves playing this game under protest….seems to me, Selig, who should be watching, should rule immediately.

  5. There are two reps from MLB in-house – they should be able to make the judgment call. Unfortunately, one of them is Joe Torre. ‘Nuff said?

  6. enchantedbeaver says:

Precisely why I don’t like the wild card, let alone the gimmick second one. St. Louis didn’t deserve to be playing anymore than we did, or Atlanta for that matter. Either you win your division or you go home. Otherwise, what’s the point of playing 162 games?

    • trublu4ever says:

…to make matters worse, the Cards get the first two games at home….so much for winning your division!

    • Enchantedbeaver
BUT, you have to have 4 teams and there’s only 3 divisions. The original plan was to get the 4 best teams to play. Now I guess the 5th best team gets a shot.

    • See my reply below.

      • Disregard this, my reply is right upbove.

      • enchantedbeaver says:

Could play elimination like they do in college, but as much as I’d be against expansion, 2 more teams would take care of that issue. Then you can have 4 divisions in each league. Makes absolutely no sense having 5 teams the way they’ve got it now. What I hate about the 1st wild card spot is that its usually the team playing the hottest baseball at the end of the year. Anyone then can be on a roll and go all the way. That to me isn’t fair to the other teams that were good and/or persevered over 162 games.

  7. trublu4ever says:

    The Rangers/Orioles game is boring!

  8. It looks like it’s the Orioles.

  9. I can’t help but think that the Rangers collapse the past week or so is definitely contributing to their losing tonight. They look really flat!

  10. Happy for the Orioles – they’ve not been in the post season for quite a while.

  11. enchantedbeaver says:

Looks like the O’s spared the Rangers of losing yet another WS.

  12. trublu4ever says:

I’m not a very devout person but: Dear God, please eliminate the Giants from the playoffs….I will be very grateful for this good deed…Amen.

  13. lbirken says:

I think it is fair to question the whole wild card idea in the first place. We all know the reason for creating the wild card in the first place: to keep teams and fans involved as long as possible. We have come a long way since there were only 16 teams in both leagues. Now more teams have a chance to reach the playoffs and it never really mattered who was good during the regular season but who was good during post season.

I do have an issue with the one game play-in. I think that was my problem with the whole race for the wild card spot down the stretch. I do think winning the division should mean something so having two wild card teams play a 3 game series to determine who gets into the next round might be worth discussing. I would even say it is o.k. to play all three games in one place. The real problem is the season itself is just too long but i don’t see any changes to that anytime soon.

    • nellyjune says:

I felt the same way lbirken. I thought if they are going to go through the effort of having a wild card playoff, why not make it a 3 game series and home field goes to the team with the better record. Play it like you would any regular season series. It would have just taken the weekend, with the division series starting on Tuesday. Atlanta kind of got screwed out of that game last night.

  14. trublu4ever says:

    Tigers win game one…yay!

  15. trublu4ever says:

The best thing about the Giants’ series is the fact I don’t have to listen to Krud & Krap!

  16. trublu4ever says:

Damn…no luck, Cueto gets hurt first inning!

  17. Sorry Folks I was looking at the wrong thread.
    Let’s Go Reds.

  18. Hafta hold these Giants down.

  19. Ludwick reminded me of myself many years ago, with that catch.(haha)
The one he just made now not the first one last inning.

  20. nedisajerk says:

This game is in SF. Urgh they doing the basketball format in the final. I was wondering why the Giants have the 1st 2 games in SF?

  21. trublu4ever says:

Nice tosee that Broxton still sucks! Whew!

  22. LET’S GO BROX.
    YES.

  23. nellyjune says:

Way to go Brox!!!! ……uh sorry, wrong team 🙂 Kind of ironic if you think about it. I know he had his issues, but I liked him. I’m happy for him he got his head straight and had a great season.

  24. Nice hit for EX Paul.

  25. Let’s Go Reds Pile it on.

  26. trublu4ever says:

    Insurance!

  27. nedisajerk says:

    Let’s shut it down Chapman.

  28. I hope Dusty told him something good.

  29. trublu4ever says:

    Good grief!

  30. trublu4ever says:

    YES…FINALLY!

  31. W H E W!!!!!!!!!
Go to see the Giants lose.

  32. nellyjune says:

WOOOO HOOOO!!! WAY TO GO REDS!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU……THANK YOU!!! I couldn’t say it that loud in my house without evil stares. I hope you all had a fabulous day!

  33. trublu4ever says:

Come on Fister, make your hometown proud….GO TIGERS!!!!

  34. I’ll watch this last inning than I have to leave and don’t know when I’ll be back tonight.

  35. 32and53fan says:

Nats just scored. Kasten’s legacy is showing in the team he helped put together in Washington.

  36. 32and53fan says:

I am using the MLB.12 app on an Android tablet, in quad mode, to look at the Cards/Nats game. I guess it works the same way using MLB.TV on a computer. I normally have only seen the camera selected by the show director. It is interesting to see what the camera operators are doing before their cameras are selected. A lot of fast pans, zooms and focusing while they are searching for the best shot. Next year, I would like one of the Dodgers pregame shows to feature a game director and show what a high pressure job it is to coordinate all the cameras while also listening for Vin Scully’s “suggestions” to show a particular person, on or off the field.

  37. trublu4ever says:

Two wins I was hoping for….two more to go……GO ORIOLES & GO REDS!!!!!!!!!

  38. I’m back.
Watched the Nats/Cards from about six inning on at a friends house after having Brunch at the “Brooklyn Eagle’ a local eatery with my daughter, needless to say I was happy with the outcome of the game.

  39. Ludwick draws first blood GO REDS!!!

  40. trublu4ever says:

Another run….the more the better Reds!

  41. H A N I G A N ..WTG.

  42. nellyjune says:

I know it’s early, but the gnats aren’t looking so good tonight either.

  43. You wouldn’t know the Giants are trailing by 4 runs listening to the crowd.

  44. trublu4ever says:

    Yes….6-0!

  45. The Reds are really piling it on.

  46. nellyjune says:

WOOOO HOOOO!!!! WAY TO GO REDS!! THE GIANTS SUCK!!! There……. much better 🙂

  47. trublu4ever says:

Game over….now on to my regularly scheduled programming.

  48. It’s great to see the Giants down 0-2, going to Cincy
I hope the Nats can do the same to the Cards.
    Y E S.

  49. I’m ready for Nats & Cards.
    GO NATS!!!!!

  50. The Cards have one of, if not the best postseason record of any N.L. team and I wouldn’t want it to get any better.

  51. It’s good to see the Nats jump out in front and Garcia is having trouble settling down.

  52. I hope it’s not all downhill in the shade for the Cruds from here.

  53. I’m glad this series switches to Washington for the next three games.

  54. Who does Harper think he is? Mark Ellis?

  55. I hope we don’t see Busch Stadium again until next year.

  56. grizzy says:

Just back from AZ and glad to see the giants down 0-2. Not so much the for their players, mostly those chicken shits that pack their ballpark.

  57. lbirken says:

Other than wanting the Giants to lose, I don’t much care who wins.

  58. LET’S GO REDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  59. trublu4ever says:

    Clap, clap, clap!

  60. trublu4ever says:

On the board already….keep it up Cincy!

  61. Seems like a lot of guys getting thrown out at third these days.

  62. Quite a pitching duel between Bailey & Vogelson, especially Bailey.

  63. I’m shocked Botche took out Vogelsong.

  64. Well there goes the no-no.

  65. Isn’t it good to see the crowd on our side?

  66. That’s it for Bailey.

  67. trublu4ever says:

A walk-off would be sweet….send those gnats packing!

  68. trublu4ever says:

    Damn, Rolen!

  69. We’ll have to wait for game 4.

  70. trublu4ever says:

    Oh, well…..hopefully tomorrow!

  71. In this game I got the Tigers in a pool, other than that, it’s not that important.

  72. grizzy says:

This is the first time I can recall wanting the Reds to win.

  73. Two big games tomorrow: I hope the Reds and the Nats can take care of the Gnats & the Cruds.

  74. The Athletics are holding on.

  75. messagebear says:

No fast tracking for Puig. Had a staph infection in the elbow requiring surgery? Another big dollar misadventure?

Oh well. Ned’s got a new contract, and the rest of the organization is in tact. How long will it take Guggenheims to run out of money?

    • lbirken says:

Apparently Guggenheim has a long way to go before it runs out of money. AEG is putting its entertainment division up for sale with an estimated price tag of $10 billion and Guggenheim has been reported to be interested. For those of you who may not know, AEG is a big player in Los Angeles, operating Staples Center and L.A. Live, owning the Los Angeles Kings, and is behind building a football stadium next to Staples in downtonw L.A.

  76. I had a busy day today and just caught the Cards winning again, so nothing else to do right now but root, root root for the Reds.

  77. The Reds need a big inning to get back in this game.

  78. grizzy says:

There will be no joy in Mudville if they let the giants take it from them in their own park.

  79. trublu4ever says:

Instead of the “Joy of October”…..I should have called it the “Agony”

  80. trublu4ever says:

Dusty is going to blow it….just like he always does. He is not a winner!

  81. Damn Yankees win in 12.

  82. Stephen Drew thrown out at third after doubling in a run to trail 2-1. What is it with these guys?

  83. Unbelivable Oakland walk-off win.

  84. Due to a death, in my family, my brother, who passed away Sunday on Long Island, from parkinson’s desease. He was 70. I’ll be attending the wake tomorrow, sleep over and attend the funeral on Friday.

  85. grizzy says:

Sorry to hear the sad news. Take care, oldbrooklyn.

  86. lbirken says:

As much as I hate to say this, you have to give the Giants credit for taking three games in a row on the road to win their series against the Reds.

  87. trublu4ever says:

Ex-Dodger, Jayson Werth wins it for the Nats…..Oldbrooklynfan will be very happy….one more to go guys!

  88. grizzy says:

i guess I have to admit I thought the same thing about the Giants. Good for them, the players. I’m just glad it was on the road so their chicken shit fans couldn’t see it.

  89. All the coaches except Dave Hansen are coming back. (Sigh) Still stuck with Bunnynuts 😦 I would hope that Mickey Hatcher will become hitting coach. That would so cool!

  90. trublu4ever says:

So far, Oldbrooklynfan must be very happy….the Cards are getting smoked by the Nats……keep piling on!

  91. trublu4ever says:

Damn, they better not blow this!

  92. Thank you all for your condolences.

  93. trublu4ever says:

    Shit!

  94. This is jusst terrible.

  95. 32and53fan says:

Unfucking believable! I almost feel like I did the last game of 1962 when the Giants came from behind to steal the pennant from the Dodgers.

  96. The two teams I hate, the Cards & the Giants.

  97. Reverse Midas touch going here – I wanted the A’s, the Orioles and the Nats. Ain’t gonna happen . . . . .

  98. trublu4ever says:

This means the nasty Giants get to host….yuck!

  99. 32and53fan says:

Congratulations to the Cardinals. Ya gotta give credit where credit’s due.

  100. The Dodgers better get their Shirt together.
