I feel a power surge from our Boys tonight….GO DODGERS!

  2. nellyjune says:

Does anyone know if Josh Beckett has pitched in Colorado before? I think the lineup has the power, but let’s hope Josh is lights out. It’s either going to be a dream for him or a nightmare. I am hoping it’s a good outcome all around for the team.

    • trublu4ever says:

I think they said he did when they played in the WS……I just hope we can score more than they do…..I hate playing there.

  3. trublu4ever says:

I just hope he is prepared for the altitude.

  4. According to what I heard yesterday, Beckett is 3-0 in Colorado, but, of course, he hasn’t pitched there in 7 years. I hope he’s ready to pitch well into the 7th or 8th inning, too; Donnie blew out the ‘pen yesterday, and that sure ain’t gonna be a good thing if we need them today.

  5. DodgerZona says:

The Mariners have placed both Kevin Millwood and Jason Vargas on waivers, and both players are likely to be claimed, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter link). As Rosenthal notes, Vargas is owed just over $1MM for the remainder of the season, while Millwood is owed roughly $200K

  6. DodgerZona says:

No thanks to Vargas….lol maybe Millwood is better then Blanton lol…IDK

  7. crash24now says:

Bullpen news: Josh Wall in, Shawn Tolleson out.

  8. DodgerZona says:

My bet is Vargas and u Tru?

  9. DodgerZona says:

    that seems like Ned’s type

  10. DodgerZona says:

    Please no Wolf

  11. trublu4ever says:

I’m also hearing Soriano may be going to the gnats…..says he’d waive his no-trade…..he is a lousy outfielder and the windy AT&T would kill him.

  12. DodgerZona says:

    Soriano sucks

  13. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Hi Everybody.

  14. oldbrooklynfan says:

Looks like things are continuing. Can’t stop those HRs.

  15. trublu4ever says:

Don’t panic…we are going to score a ton. I’m guessing Beckett is a little nervous…he will settle down.

  16. trublu4ever says:

Good grief. The Rockies’ announcers are awful….I hate when the games aren’t on Prime Ticket. They should the homer 8 times already!

  17. DodgerZona says:

    settle down Josh

  18. DodgerZona says:

    there ya go Josh

  19. DodgerZona says:

Hopefully Francis throws a lot of BP tonight

  20. oldbrooklynfan says:

    I’m watching the Rockies T.V. too. I couldn’t get MLB.TV up.

  21. trublu4ever says:

    Good job Beckett!

  22. oldbrooklynfan says:

You better keep your eyes on the T.V., you’ll miss something if you don’t. These guys don’t give everything.

  23. DodgerZona says:

    wow that was a strike

  24. DodgerZona says:

    let’s get runs boys

  25. oldbrooklynfan says:

That’s what we have to do. Hit with runners in scoring position.

  26. oldbrooklynfan says:

    A.J. just missed.

  27. trublu4ever says:

    Damn!

  28. DodgerZona says:

    Geez

  29. DodgerZona says:

    Frustrating

  30. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Wha’da ya gonna do??.

  31. DodgerZona says:

    let’s go dodgers

  32. DodgerZona says:

    Wow unreal

  33. trublu4ever says:

Too bad we can’t give Josh some run support.

  34. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Amazing.

  35. DodgerZona says:

    unreal…goodnight

  36. Josh did well, a quality start for sure. Too bad the bats aren’t awake.

  37. trublu4ever says:

21 runners left on base since yesterday…..WTF!

  38. oldbrooklynfan says:

Cruz always seems to get good wood on the ball, solid contack, even when he makes out. He always seems to hit the ball well.

  39. Absolutely pathetic. Not seeing anything different than the crap we’ve been seeing all year. If Donnie can’t win with these guys then its time to get somebody in there who can.

I’ve always said though, Donnie couldn’t with with the ’27 Yankees.

  40. oldbrooklynfan says:

I think the excitement of the trade and the changes might be affecting the Dodgers. They are probably thinking about it too much and you can’t think and hit at the same time. I just hope they come down from this high ASAP.
    IMO.

  41. trublu4ever says:

    Oh, my…a runner on 3rd!

  42. oldbrooklynfan says:

The Rockies are making it look easy.

  43. trublu4ever says:

That’s is for me folks! Maybe we will get it done tomorow.

  44. koufax1963 says:

And add the insult of having your closer come in the bottom of the 8th, (4 run lead), this is a mind F to Kenley, What is donnie thinking?

  45. kahliforni says:

Oh well, Teflon Donnie Baseball has this team playing at a 13-11 clip this month…more than Magic and Stan could have dreamed of after the deadline trades……

  46. vl4eccjr says:

Tuned in just in time to witness the wheels coming off the wagon.
Boy! Don’t I feel special!! LMAO

  47. oldbrooklynfan says:

Maybe tomorrow night our luck will change….Maybe.

  48. Very disappointing! We’ve got the hitters to make it happen! Blech!!

  49. lbirken says:

Not quite what we had in mind as a result of all the moves. The game still has to be played on the field; the other teams are not going to roll over. If anything, they might even be more motivated to spoil things. This current Dodger roster seems to have the talent, at least offensively, to win. Does it have the character?

  50. grizzy says:

Too familiar. Time to turn it up a notch.

  51. Just remember, there’s no W in Mattingley.

  52. DodgerZona says:

I tend to agree with enchanted…I don’t see the playoffs even with who they got in the trade…Col,Az,SF,SD are going to play us hard the rest of the yr…RISP,LOB…Love the Dodgers and they need to turn it up

  53. DodgerZona says:

Now I’ve heard there interested in Oswalt,Buehrle

  54. DodgerZona says:

They need to take the next 2 in Col….Gnats schedule is a lot easier

  55. DodgerZona says:

Dammit Ned you missed out on Wolf LOL

  56. koufax1963 says:

The dodgers seem to be “rescueing” unhappy players, or stalking teams that need to unload payroll, with that philosphy Roy Oswalt should be wearing Blue soon. Not that I am hot on that idea, but with bilz uncertainity (and He was pitching like he should) nothing will surprise me now.

  57. trublu4ever says:

    Trying to win game #2:
    M. Ellis, 2b
    Victorino, lf
    Matt, cf
    Gonzalez, 1b
    Ramirez, ss
    Dre, rf
    Kennedy, 3b (wtf?)
    A.J., c
    Cappy, p

  58. I have to laugh when Donnie says that the new guys won’t disrupt the team chemistry. What team chemistry? This asshole’s put out over 100 different line-ups. How’s that developing team chemistry?

Also, the one guy on the team that appears to benefit from Treanor being the catcher, and he doesn’t start.

    • trublu4ever says:

I know……and, it’s really pissing me off! Sorry for the language but miffed won’t cut it right now!

  59. kahliforni says:

We need to keep batting crummy hitters 1 and 2 to help delay the better hitters. Donnie says Mark Ellis moves runners over real well…just what you want from a dynamic, high-scoring offense, moving runners over. How about a #2 hitter who mashes the ball, instills fear in a pitcher, and a guy you want up when the line-up turns over in the 9th inning……..

  60. lbirken says:

Just like old times; no one likes the lineup.

    • kahliforni says:

lbirk, I just don’t like Donnie saying Mark Ellis is the consummate #2 hitter because “he moves runners over” and then he bats him in the #1 hole when the machine falters. Rameriz or Ethier or even Kemp needs to bat 2nd. Get the sticks up first and foremost. Make the first inning a sweat box for the opposing pitcher. Get creative.

  61. kahliforni says:

Just looking at on-base percentage (getting on base any freaking way possible), here is the ranking order of the starters: Kemp, AJ Ellis, Mark Ellis, Gonzales, Ethier Ramirez, Cruz, and Victorino coming in last. Now make your batting order!

    • lbirken says:

And there is the problem: the big name lead off guy is not getting on base enough. Look at it this way; often in the past when Donnie has what many think is a screwed up lineup the team responds. Let’s hope it happens again tonight.

  62. trublu4ever says:

To me, you’d want your better hitters to have more ABs, wouldn’t you? It’s only logical.

  63. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Hi Everybody
Good night so far me, I got MLB.TV up on my PC. So it’ll be Eric & Steve for me tonight.

  64. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Victorino should’ve sacrificed.

  65. oldbrooklynfan says:

    So what else is new.

  66. trublu4ever says:

    Oh, no,,,,,,Matty!

  67. Thank God he’s up.

  68. nedisajerk says:

After last night game they should’ve had Kemp in LF and Victorino in CF.

  69. oldbrooklynfan says:

So far so go for Kemp.

  70. oldbrooklynfan says:

Now it’s just wait and see.

  71. Even though it’s only the first inning, this game is rapidly spinning out of control.

    • trublu4ever says:

i think the team is a little shell-shocked after seeing Matty’s crash….they will regroup and win this game…you wait and see!

Cappy, however, is stinking up the place right now!

  72. nedisajerk says:

Dang it Ellis that was a good throw by Rivera even though it look bad.

  73. Hey, at least Dre is hitting . . . .

  74. Just another showing of Donnie’s incompetence. Doesn’t take a phi beta kappa to know that Capuano is a much better pitcher with Treanor handing him for whatever reason. Treanor’s only good for one thing, and that’s to catch Caps. So why not let him be Cap’s catcher? It accomplishes what you want – rest for Ellis. And it doesn’t matter who the opposing pitcher is because they both bat right.

Anyone even halfassed paying attention knows this is true, so why doesn’t Donnie do the right thing and set Caps and his team up with the best chance for success rather than giving them the best chance for failure? I’ve had it with this mess, and its not going to get any better until they get rid of Donnie and get someone who knows what they’re doing.

  75. trublu4ever says:

    YAY….A RUN!

  76. oldbrooklynfan says:

    F I N A L L Y

  77. trublu4ever says:

    Whoa…way to go Juan!

  78. trublu4ever says:

    WTF….damn, Cappy!

  79. trublu4ever says:

Come on guys….do it right now! Rally Panty Time!

  80. vl4eccjr says:

The Rox season is in the toilet. They have nothing left to lose, and are doing a good job playing spoiler.
The Giants have an easier schedule going down the stretch.
If this offense doesn’t find another gear soon, they can kiss their slim chances of getting a wild card goodbye.

  81. oldbrooklynfan says:

1 run is better than no runs.

  82. oldbrooklynfan says:

    Everytime we score they score.

  83. trublu4ever says:

Hey, Beav, my friend….can you imagine what Donnie will do when the roster expands in four days?!

  84. vl4eccjr says:

Any one else rooting for the Disastro’s tonight?

  85. trublu4ever says:

Finally, Cappy gets a 1-2-3 inning!

  86. trublu4ever says:

YAY…’Stros broke the tie….on a wild pitch to boot!

  87. kahliforni says:

Quiz: What is the Dodgers’ record since May 1 if they lose tonight? Answer: 1 game under .500. Quiz: Who hired Don Mattingley as Dodger manager? Answer: Joe Torre (with Ned’s tacit approval while sucking his thumb). Quiz: Why has there been NO criticism of Don Mattingley this season, in ANY form? Answer: Unknown.

    • trublu4ever says:

There as been a lot of criticism for Donnie…..from the fans…however, ownership has to feel the same way. I’m hoping the fans are filling Kasten’s in-box with their disapproval.

  88. vl4eccjr says:

It’s always like Jeckyll & Hyde when Wright comes out of the pen. It’s just a matter of which one shows up.

  89. grizzy says:

Is this for real? Seriously, I cannot believe this BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!

  90. DodgerZona says:

Just got home…Why did i even check the score….Unreal…goodnight folks

  91. vl4eccjr says:

    The DisAstro’s couldn’t hold the lead. . 😦

  92. oldbrooklynfan says:

Nothing much can be done about this except hope it turns around in the next game.

  93. vl4eccjr says:

    PATHETIC!!

  94. I can’t even bitch at Ned anymore. Not that I think he’s responsible for all the acquisitions beyond, “Hi, this is Ned Colletti GM of the Dodgers. Please hold for Stan Kasten.”

If you’ve got the talent this club now has and you still can’t win against a piss poor team, let alone even make a game of it two nights running, then its time to take a look at the guy running the team and his coaching staff.

I’ve gotten to the point again this year that I’m starting to root for them to lose just to increase the odds of getting rid of Mattingley.

  95. koufax1963 says:

The writing is on the wall between Donnie and Kasten. We gave you all stars now win, if donnie doesn’t win, it is the perfect formula to “excuse” him, and give him the boot. Where colletti would figure in this is unknown.

  96. 32and53fan says:

A horrible way to start the road trip. Maybe they need Lasorda to come to the clubhouse and light a fire.

  97. lbirken says:

I will never root for the Dodgers to lose but I share everyone’s frustration with this team. It will be interesting to see what happens if this team does not make the playoffs.

    • trublu4ever says:

I believe heads will roll…..I hope Mike Scioscia gets canned by the Angels and we bring him home where he belongs. I’d also try my best to bring Orel as pitching coach.

  98. kahliforni says:

With all the new players on the roster with a World Series ring, it also means they’ve all played for World Series-winning managers. Be interesting to hear their take on Donnie…off the record, you understand.

  99. grizzy says:

It’s hard to believe we’ve got these players making millions standing around letting kids who literally look like they are still in high school whip up on them. Some sort of professionalism better kick in soon, or that last series with the Giants will be meaningless.
Kemp says there is time, but I think not. Time is now.

  100. crash24now says:

Can Blanton stop the sweep from happening? Stranger things have happened…

  101. trublu4ever says:

    Elbert to DL…Tolleson recalled.
    Today:
    Ellis. 2b
    Victorino, cf
    Gonzalez, 1b
    Ramirez, ss
    Cruz, 3b
    Ethier, rf
    Rivera, lf
    A.J.,c
    Blanton, p

Dear God…..please let Blanton get out of 1st inning without giving up 4 or more runs…..thank-you!

  102. Hi Everybody
    Gettaway day.
Dodgers ought to make sure there are no brooms around.

  103. trublu4ever says:

Woo-Hoo….no runs given up in the first inning.

  104. WOW no Rocky runs in the first..
    By Blanton no less.
    GO DODGERS!!!!

  105. We scored and that’s all that matters.

  106. trublu4ever says:

    Finally….some runs! Keep it up!

  107. The Rockies have left a man on in every inning so far but none in scoring position.

  108. nedisajerk says:

I can’t believe that guy got out of that inning. I have a bad feeling.

  109. That’s 6 straight innings that the Rox have LOB 1 runner but no RISP.

  110. I actually had a feeling that A.J would open this game up.
    Nice Goin’ A.J.!!!!!!

  111. A really wonderful GEM pitched by Joe Blanton today.

  112. crash24now says:

Nice job by the battery today – Blanton and AJ!

  113. I think the sooner they take Tolleson out the better.

  114. crash24now says:

This isn’t funny anymore. Let’s get the job done.

  115. crash24now says:

Could use some insurance runs in the ninth.

  116. trublu4ever says:

    I HATE COORS FIELD!

  117. We worried about a Coor Field type of game.

  118. crash24now says:

Here goes nothin’ – see if the bullpen can protect a 2 run lead.

  119. crash24now says:

    DP! Way to end it!

  120. It was tough but…
    WE BEAT THEM!!!!!!!!

  121. lbirken says:

Yes, a win is a win but the Dodgers sure do have a knack for keeping things interesting.

  122. trublu4ever says:

I don’t want to sound like a whiner but, the homeplate umpire decided in the 8th & 9th inning to make this game closer than it had to be……a lot of strike 3 calls were not given (by the way, they were called earlier in the game) so, extra pitches…..more chances for a hit.

  123. trublu4ever says:

Kenley Jansen was hospitlized again for the same heart condition as last year….he’s out now and no word on DL or not. I wish him well but, damn….when it rains, it pours!
