Tough series against a very good team….hoping for two of three. That would make a very good road trip.
Tough series, indeed. Funny, we were all over Matt Kemp yesterday for not controlling his emotions. It was not all that long ago that the Dodgers hardly seemed to have a pulse so a little show of emotion is o.k. with me as long as no one gets ejected.
Jerry Sands is still slaughtering the ball down in AAA. Over his last ten games, he’s hitting .455 with 5 home runs. Why the heck doesn’t Ned bring him up and DFA either Uribe, Rivera, or Loney?
That would make sense…….something Ned lacks.
Jerry has been playing 1B for the past three games.
Sorry, but as much as you may like Sands or dislike Uribe, Rivera or Loney, Sands has done nothing to force his way onto the major league club and prove he belongs there. Maybe someday he will, but I would not make the move now.
Sands in someway reminds me of Andy LaRoche. Played well in the minors and in other contest but never could break the ice with the Dodgers.
I hope this changes because we can use a power hitting first baseman and it would be good not to go outside the organization to get one.
He’ll get another chance to prove himself in September.
Hi Everybody
Hope the Dodgers can start a new winning streak tonight.
Age isn’t a factor with Chipper. Eh?
1. He’s putting up some pretty nice numbers for his final year.
2. Even at age 40, he is far ahead of any of the nine people we’ve played at 3B this year.
Sad but true.
My prediction…..we will score this inning! Go, Dodgers!
Hope ur right,TB4ever
….close, but no cigar 😉
…..by sending Dre, they must have no confidence in James.
Almost but it was worth a try.
Almost only counts in hand grenades & horse shoes.
Wasn’t it Lasorda that said that after Jack Clark’s HR?
Hey, Beav….Dre goes BOOM!
YES E T H I E R
Cruz is a stud! Ned, you can cut Uribe loose now, please!
…..and, thanks Shane for bringing him home!
Cruz was a favorite of mine during spring training.
Finally they got to Hanson.
The Capo’s looking good.
Damn, Belli!
….blew a good outing by Capo!
Well Capuano didn’t help himself much after givng up b2b single.
…..I’m thinking Donnie should have kept him in there…..those Braves’ hits weren’t exactly screamers!
I think Donny should had let Capuano try to get out of the inning.
Gotta get some runs here.
Attaway t’go Beli…
Let’s go Andre’
WHEW!!
League makes me just as vervous as Scott Proctor did when he was a Dodger!
Thx Brandon…Whew…Let’s win this game Dodgers
That was a tremendous outing for Brandon League.
A great confidence builder for him.
I can’t believe we’re still alive in this game.
Hell….Loney could have done that….way to go Rivera!
Wotta game.
Well, that sucked!
Yeah it did!
Another loss grasped from the jaws of victory from the bullpen.
Thanks to Wright & League!
Too bad we were on the wrong end of it but it was quite a battle.
Well that was a very short stint in first place.
Nice to see Dre going yard tonight.
Yes it was nice to see him hit one.
Well, that’s one we coulda/shoulda won, but WTF anyway. It’s not like we’re playing the Sisters of the Poor. Get ’em tonight!!!!
This is what a pennant race is all about: close games, scoreboard watching and important games every day.
Mattingly got two game suspension…..Matty avoided same fate. Thank goodness.
Now let’s isolate Mattingley in a cave somewhere and see if another voice produces a first-place team.
Tonight……pretty much same lineup…..A.J. in….Treanor out.
yeah, a new manager, just when I was buying his platooning at 1B, he mismanages the bullpen, hope hillman puts up a couple of wins, if not, ouch. The suspension for seemed fair, its his 6th time being tossed this year, kudos! Glad Matty cleared, cooler heads prevailed, and all over cheering on his teammate Dre! Much ado about nothing, and I get to see today’s game ! w0o h0o!
I still think the Dodgers are much better off defensively with Loney at first base. With the potential of better offense from Victorino and Hanley, Loney’s offensive issues should not be as big a concern. I have never liked platooning. I would also play Cruz everyday with the way he has been hitting.
I agree!
Me too.
Me too.
Dear God….please make Harang pitch a good game tonight…we need it….thank-you.
…..so much for that! Just hold the damage to a minimum.
Hi Everybody
I have trouble getting MLB.TV up, I have to make sure nothing else is already up.
I rather watch the Dodger feed so I try my best to bring it up instead of watching it on the regular T.V., MLBN or Extra innings when the Dodger broadcast is not on.
Thank-you, Hanley!
…..and, James! Wow!
…..and, Cruz too!!!! Back, to back to back!
Attaway to go H A N L E Y>>>
I can’t believe it James and Cruuuuz to.
Another 3 or 4 runs would make me breathe a little easier.
……make that 5 or 6 😉
What’s with these 2 out doubles?
…..at least they are coming with two outs 😉
Okay…we need more runs….let’s do it!
Thank-you again, Hanley!
Unbelievable. WooW
Way to go Hanley!
Come on Harang….don’t get yourself in trouble again.
Harang a grinder?
Choate a choker ?
Apparently not today thanks to help from the ump and the batter.
Good outing for Harang. Let’s hope things don’t change like last night.
Come on Javy….prove the Beav wrong!
……um, that’s not going to do it!
I’d get that jackass out of there before he gives the game back.
These walks could kill us.
They don’t make it easy, do they?
Never!
These Braves are very discipline and patient.
I hope Jansen just fires it in there.
We may be out of jackass’ soon
Thank you Kenley.
For sure…he blew him away!
Yes –Good job.
Okay, Kenley….finish them off.
I’m glad that HR didn’t come last inning.
An unusual game indeed. No singles, 10 walks, Harang somehow hanging in there and the Dodgers getting 4 hits, all home runs and a win for Hillman as manager.
Have to do it again tomorrow.
Thank You, Kenley.
Yes, enjoy this one for the moment and come back tomorrow for another big game. Have a great evening everyone.
I think I’ll go check on the Pods.
I hope you all are doing well. I’ve been setting up for another school year. When the Dodgers set off on this road trip, I was hoping for a 5-5 record, but the worst they can do is 7-3. Not bad considering the teams we played, while the gnats played the Nats, Rockies and Padres (with a day off in the mix as well). Our series at home against the gnats is going to be crucial if we want to go ahead or at least stay close, meanwhile watching the Dbacks not too far below us. The craziness continues.
Early game today….would be nice to win this one. I see Loney is sitting today…..finally heating up a bit and they sit him….I know it’s a lefty thing but…..platooning is phooey! Oh well, go get ’em Billz and the boys!
a kudos to Hillman manging the pen like he did, gave each some time to prove if they were going to deliver, if not change. Like it. Harang pitched like a tightrope walker and he got across. I have some negatives but lets see if that gets corrected today. Go Dodgers.
I’m sorry they sent Herrera back to AAA to make room for Elbert…..means Uribe still survives….dammit!
Come on Chad….shake it off….we need the good Billz!
Another of MLB’s finest behind the plate again today.
Yep….anything below the knees…strike!
…..and, above the shoulders 😉
We never should have signed Andre to a long term contract, and a very expensive one at that. He’s not worth it, and we should have traded him before the deadline. He’s going to be a waste at the dollars he’s gathering.
…as for me, we should never have signed Uribe, Rivera or Treanor, just to name a few of many.
…..and, look what Mark just did!
I know Beav agrees with you but, I’m an Ethieraholic through & through 😉
Kemp scaring me too, lately.
…..yet, nobody complains about him. don’t get me wrong, I love both of them but, Dre is always getting the heat.
Hi Everybody
Heyward is really making Billz work, not good.
Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!
CRUZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This boy can flat out hit!!!!!!!!!!
Cruuuuz is really something. the League hasn’t caught on to him yet.
The longer they take the better for us
GO LUIS
Nice HR Cruz…Would of been nice if they got AJ in from 3rd….damn
Don’t anyone know how to get rid of the highlites on the left side of the MLB.TV screen?
This Heyward guy scares me.
Nice going Billz
Wish we can score a little here.
The Dodgers pitchers always have Heyward number batting under .200. I hope Heyward never figure out the Dodgers pitching.
I hope so too. He looks menacing up there.
Heyward career stats lines vs the Dodgers in his career.
19 68 4 7 0 0 0 5 6 25 2 1 .103 .184 .103 .287
I’ll be leaving in about 15 minutes but I’ll be back.
Billz is something to be proud of.
I guess we can safely say that Uribe is due.
I’ll take that run….now, let’s pile on!
Thanks to the sun we got a run lol
let’s get more boys
Come on Dre
Suspend Melky for 100 games and if he does win the batting titles DQ him.
Well hopefully them 2 hold up
I do too….really, though, we should have had a lot more runs…many wasted opportunities today.
Let’s have a nice inning Belisario.
No I don’t want to see League.
Good grief…..let’s take advantage of those errors.
Way to go Mark!
Awesome Mark Ellis
Can we actually get a hit with the bases loaded this time?
Come on Elbert let’s finish this
Nice job in the 9th, Elbert…….have a safe trip home guys. And, let’s bury the gnats, come tomorrow!
Nice road trip guy’s…..Now let’s beat the Gnats
I have to say Billz has impressed the heck out of me with this string of great outings. Not sure what changed for him but he is now showing the talent we all thought he had. He seems a lot more confident and does not let a little adversity affect him. I have no idea if his mechanics are different but that little stint on the DL must have done wonders. Let’s hope he can keep it up.
Yippee! We’re back in first place!! Now let’s thrash those g’nats!!
A nice 7-3 record for this road trip was pretty awesome. Way to go Dodgers!
