The Dodgers entered San Francisco three games behind the Giants. By Sunday evening, they could be tied for first, six games behind, or somewhere in between.
The addition of Hanley Ramirez gives the Dodgers a nice boost to their offense. Hopefully Ned Colletti will be able to take his new budget and add a few more pieces before the Tuesday deadline without giving up any top prospects. Apparently Allen Webster is so highly regarded that the Dodgers turned down an offer to trade him for Dempster. It is possible, though a longshot, that they will try to expand the deal to include Soriano, Lehair and/or Garza. It should be interesting to see how this plays out. Knowing Colletti’s history, he will probably come up with someone who is not even on any sportswriter’s radar.
