Billz to DL…surprise, surprise! I hope we give Stephen Fife a few runs of support for his first outing.

  2. lbirken says:

Matt and Dre will need a lot of patience at the plate, especially if they come up with runners on base.

  3. Stellar line-up with Abreu leading off and Kennedy fifth. Little Joe really has no clue does he? Guess he should be admired for wanting to play everybody like the little league manager he is. I had actually thought in ST and early on that he understood who was a player and who wasn’t, but I was woefully wrong.

Barney Fife vs. Doc Halladay – what a dream match-up that is. I would think that Ely would’ve been next on the depth chart, but I think Kasten is quietly getting a look at everyone he can before he makes any deals. And we’d better hope that it is KASTEN making the deals.

Even if it is Stan, if we’re pretty much just going to only be taking on other clubs salary dumps, we’ll have a payroll over $150-$175M/year and the team will still stink. Won’t that be a hoot?

    • Ely isn’t on the 40-man roster. That would mean someone would have to come off in order for Ely to be promoted. Another stellar chance to get rid of some old PVL, but, no . . . that would make sense.

I’m holding out hope that Fife (albeit not Barney), has more than one bullet in his arsenal….

  5. Dodger4life says:

Mrs. Otis… I already claimed the Mr. title, Hope on the cow after the show tru
    🙂

  6. Dodger4life says:

  7. Dodger4life says:

Must be the moonshine eye, I somehow overlooked all the concoctions up top….:0)

  8. trublu4ever says:

The gnats are killing the Braves 8 – 0 and, it’s only the 5th inning….so, we had better bring our bats tonight or we will fall to 3 games behind.

  9. Dodger4life says:

I come here looking for Magic, has anyone seen Magic?
    .

  10. Hello Dodger Faithful. Long time no blog.

  11. Dodger4life says:

  12. trublu4ever says:

Dre…..nice hit…but, who will bring him home?

  13. Dodger4life says:

Iribum…has been duly noted…what else did I miss?

  14. Dodger4life says:

My guess would have been Ned’s gonna sign the Cars to drive him home…Loney came through, though…One, One…Tie the cow back up!

  15. Dodger4life says:

Where is everyone…Loney even showed up…
    .
I Love my Lone…ah never mind!!!

  16. Was just watching Loney’s RBI single… that had to be the best throw back to the infield I’ve ever seen JP make.

  17. Dodger4life says:

I haven’t seen it yet, E…Was it still a rainbow, just with less colors, or is he throwing bolts of lightning these days?

  18. trublu4ever says:

    Way to go Matty…awesome throw!

  19. I see we’re really knocking the walls down with our hitting again tonight.

  20. trublu4ever says:

    WTF Belli!

  21. Dodger4life says:

  32. Dodger4life says:

No Good! No Good! No Good!

  33. From your mouth to God’s ear, D4L.

  34. koufax1963 says:

what is up with our BP? I think jansen’s gaffe saturday has got to be the most embarasing moment in dodger blunders, that I have seen, more than the drew/kent tag out at home in the division series with the mets, more than the hidden ball at first trick done by I can’t remember, another shot won’t help, and the rest of July looks brutal, if we stay 3 back that might be a confidence builder till trade date. Nice to read from everyone and our surprise visit from blog days past!

  35. lbirken says:

Clearly the Dodgers teased us early in the season. While they certainly may not have been as good as they seemed, can they be this bad even with so many marginal players? Bellisario has been lights out until the past couple of outings; does he have a problem he is not disclosing? The Dodgers got everything they could have hoped for from Fife tonight and once again the offense sputtered. I expected the Dodgers to struggle but I did not expect a total collapse.

  36. grizzy says:

I see our offensive machine was at it again last night.

Does anyone use gameday on the Dodger site? I can’t access since the break and the jerks at MLB do not respond.

    • I use gameday from the Dodgers site griz, but I haven’t had any trouble. ESPN also has gamedayesque game coverage, but I don’t like it as well.

Wiesman wrote this line, “this team may be in contention, but its not a contender. Truer words were never put to paper. This is the team Ned built. This is the team Donnie manages (poorly I might add.) This is the team that will now be lucky to finish third. Changes have to be made from the top down.

Note to Kasten: $2.15B doesn’t buy what it used to.

  37. Dodger4life says:

grizz…. I use gameday. Although, I access it from MLB.com or TBLA. I stopped using the Dodger site a while back, it was just too unreliable.

  38. Dodger4life says:

I’m gonna have the skinniest cow in the county, if this keeps up….Come on Betsy, you know the routine!

  39. Wow – what a heck of a play!

  40. trublu4ever says:

We really need to win this game….come on boys, do it now….so, you can have a happy flight to New York!

  41. trublu4ever says:

    Finally….thank-you, Matty!

  42. vl4eccjr says:

    WTG MATT!! Outfuckingstanding!!!
    Phuck you Phillies!
    No sweep for you!!

  43. nedisajerk says:

Thanks for the bday present Kemp.

  44. crash24now says:

The Real Matt Kemp is back!

  45. Tough game – but we won. Nice way to start a very tough road trip. Let’s go DODGERS!!!

  46. Dodger4life says:

Looks like I rode the cow home for nothing today….
    .
    Nice Win Boy’s!!
    .
Shad (if today is indeed your birthday) then, Happy B-Day….

  47. lbirken says:

It took long enough but it was a great win.

  48. nedisajerk says:

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/sort/GIDPs/type/expanded-2/order/true

Dodgers lead the NL with 86 and are #3 in all of ML and the 2nd team in the NL are the Cards with 75 and the Giants only have 70 and you have to love speed. Rivera/Loney both over 10+ DP’s a piece. .

Pirates 53, Mariners 54, Padres 57, A’s 59, Brewers/Red Sox 60 shocking that the Red Sox are this low consider that they were without Crawford and Ellsbury most of the season. The Dback/Mariners only had 82, Dodgers 101 and the Giants 117. Giants back in 2010 when they won the WS they were #2 in all of major with 158, Twins were #1 with 159 and the Dodgers 123 which was the middle of the pack

    • enchantedbeaver says:

Nice stats. Want to know another reason why this team can’t score – they’re dead last in extra base hits.

      • messagebear says:

That carries through to the minor leagues as well. I daily check the previous day’s results for the six minor league teams reported, and there’s generally a lack of home runs; many days not a home run hit among all six games. That really bodes well for the coming years.

  49. Dodger4life says:

So what are trying to say Shad…Uribe is the catalyst…to GIDP and a ring?

  50. Dodger4life says:

This might explain Ned’s thought process…Just sayin’!

  51. grizzy says:

Interesting story about former Dodger catcher Sandlock in the Times. I honestly don’t remember the guy, I was pretty young, but my Dad would take me to Gilmore Field to watch the Stars during the years Sandlock played there. The only players I remember from that time are Bobby Del Greco and Steve Bilko.
