So nice to hear Vinny once again. Not happy that Kersh caught Dre’s flu bug!

  2. trublu4ever says:

Ha…..with the flu, Kersh gets the first hit of the game and has to run the bases!

  3. vl4eccjr says:

Upchucking! There’s a term you don’t hear every day! God bless Vin!

  4. nedisajerk says:

Wow the Indians had 44 years old Vizquel playing LF. He hasn’t played the outfield since 1999 when he played RF. I guess Acta woke up and just notice that by now.

  5. crash24now says:

    Only pitchers can hit today.

  6. nedisajerk says:

Blah all this started with an 1-2 count with 2 outs to the pitcher dang.

  7. JhallWally says:

    Way to go Kersh!!!!

  8. nedisajerk says:

Toronto – Top of 15th SCORE
Jairo Asencio pitching for Cleveland TOR CLE
    K Johnson walked. 4 4
J Bautista singled to center, K Johnson to second. 4 4
R Davis bunted into double play, third to shortstop to second, J Bautista out at second, K Johnson to third. 4 4
E Encarnacion grounded out to third.

lol wow I never understand how you can bunt into a DP?

    • 32and53fan says:

You could pop up the bunt, caught by catcher who fires to first to double up runner that took off running for second.

      • nedisajerk says:

Yeah I know I could understand but this guy is suppose to be a good bunter.

      • nellyjune says:

Michael has done that before. Laid out to catch pop fly (intended bunt) and threw the guy out at first. It was a web gem play.

  9. crash24now says:

First run of the year! Dodgers 1-0 on bases loaded walk to Loney!

  10. trublu4ever says:

Dre was safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First blown call of the season!

  11. trublu4ever says:

Nellyjune just informed me that the catcher who plays on her son’s team had a horrific collision with the opposing teams first baseman….severe concussion and he is going to be airlifted….wants to send our prayers.

  12. vl4eccjr says:

    Get well soon Kersh!

  13. koufax1963 says:

Prayers sent for NJ’s son! Was that a WP that dre tried to score on?

  14. nedisajerk says:

Oh this suck for fantasy owner that have him oh well get well Kershaw.

  15. enchantedbeaver says:

Best wishes for the young man.

Its just like last year – we need the other team’s help to score.

  16. nedisajerk says:

In case like this where a pitcher have 3 days to make his major league debut. I wish they used Harang to PH.

  17. vl4eccjr says:

    Ruh Roh! It’s McDoo-doo!

  18. trublu4ever says:

    Hold your breath…it’s McDooDoo time!

  19. JhallWally says:

    It’s DooDoo time… Heaven help us…

  20. nedisajerk says:

I would try to give Lindblom one more innings before he get PH.

  21. enchantedbeaver says:

I can’t even watch when MacShitty is pitching for fear I’ll put my foot through the TV.

  22. sparkleplenty1 says:

Could have been a lot worse – get the bum outta there.

  23. enchantedbeaver says:

Knowing Mattingly, he’ll blow through the bully just like Joe, then Billz will give us a rousing 3 1/3 tomorrow.

  24. trublu4ever says:

Whew….GrrrRear made it through an inning!

  25. nedisajerk says:

    NIce DP.

  26. enchantedbeaver says:

Guerrier, Coffey, MacDougal and Wright – the Over The Thrill Gang.

  27. nedisajerk says:

Bartlett look like Victorino on yahoo.

  28. trublu4ever says:

    YAY……HOMER #1 FOR MATTY!

  29. sparkleplenty1 says:

MATT!!!! Only 49 more to go 🙂

  30. JhallWally says:

Yippee, Kemp goes yard…. Boom baby!!!

  31. nedisajerk says:

There the real MVP right there.

  32. vl4eccjr says:

  35. sparkleplenty1 says:

    Interject heavy sigh . . . .

  36. enchantedbeaver says:

    Has it landed yet?

  37. nedisajerk says:

    Oh geez.

  38. enchantedbeaver says:

Kenley looks tired and frustrated. Wonder if it has anything to do with Donnie leaving him out there needlessly the other day.

  39. nedisajerk says:

Can we start Hairston tomorrow? I’m so tired of Uribe.

  40. colliethec says:

Route 66 — the quickest way to home. (A little late as I was having issues logging in!!)

  41. trublu4ever says:

    What does Javy say?

  42. JhallWally says:

    Woo-Hoo, We Win!!!

  43. sparkleplenty1 says:

I don’t know, but he sure was good.

  44. vl4eccjr says:

    Dodgers in first!

  45. sparkleplenty1 says:

Is is too soon in the season to pass the victory flask?

  46. colliethec says:

They scored more runs today than any team other than Toronto who had 4 at 9 innings and took 16 to get 7. That’s a good sign seeing as it’s in San Diego.

  47. sparkleplenty1 says:

See you all later – off to watch the Clippers.

  48. nedisajerk says:

I wish Donny would move Harang up since we had 6 innings from the bullpen and Harang is an inning eater don’t trust Bills to last past 5.

  49. nellyjune says:

Thanks for the prayers!!! Last I heard, Sergio, Michael’s teammate was doing better. I haven’t heard from Michael since we got home, but hopefully he’s gotten better or at least has stayed the same. This play happened in the first inning of the game. Sergio pretty much got close-lined by the was safe). Sergio actually continued playing. 6 innings later our left fielder runs into the outfield wall trying to catch a fly ball, and it takes him about 5 minutes to stand up. About 5 minutes later, coach is calling for medical staff. The parents are all thinking something is wrong with the left fielder, Kevin, but it turns out, it was Sergio from earlier in the game. Michael is done pitching at the time so he ends up walking Sergio out to the vans to get him to an ER, but he couldn’t even make it that far. So they call 911. Hopefully everything turns out okay for Sergio. Like Collie mentioned to me earlier, at least he had the warning signs. He’s the anchor of this pitching staff, and he’s their best overall hitter.

    • nellyjune says:

*****close lined by the first baseman, but was safe.
      .
      Way to go Dodgers!!!

    • nellyjune says:

What I mean by anchor for the pitching staff meaning that all the pitchers want him catching for him. With all the make-up games we have been playing, he was due for a day off. I guess it was a good thing he wasn’t catching when he started to show signs something was wrong.

    • trublu4ever says:

When is a good time? 😉

      • crash24now says:

        A good time to panic:

Friday the 13th – a week from today – the bankruptcy court is scheduled to approve the sale. If it doesn’t, then we go to full panic mode!

      • dodgereric says:

        1) When MLB completely turns the bid down and restarts the process.
        2) When Magic’s group takes their bid back out of frustration.
        3) When McAssWipe demands a) more money b) more time c) more control d) “a” and “b” e) “a” and “c” f) “b” and “c” g) “a”, “b” and “c”.
        4) When the bankruptcy court turns down the offer because all the money is borrowed.
        5) When the former Mrs McAssWipe files suit blocking the sale because she wants to re-negotiate.

…….and those are just off the top of my widdle head. Feel free to add to my paranoia.

  50. enchantedbeaver says:

Hey, who was Frank’s new squeeze last night? Seemed shall we say, a tad younger than the old Mrs. MCCourt.

    • crash24now says:

If you follow the money, it may seem that the new squeeze is buying out the old squeeze. That’s an odd turn of events!

    • dodgereric says:

Isn’t there a large Naval presence in San Diego? Well then, shouldn’t be too hard for even Francis to get a date…….

      • vl4eccjr says:

You will always find plenty of ‘Commercial Ladies’ aka ‘Recreational Reptiles’ in any military town. In truck stops they’re called ‘Lot Lizards’.

  51. messagebear says:

So what’s MLB going to do if they don’t like the final details of the supposed winning bid – sue? Bud would really have to grow a couple of new ones in a hurry in order to try and upset the deal. I’ve thought from the outset that this deal is totally bogus and will eventually bring us fans nothing but grief. Another bankruptcy on the horizon when the head investors have fleeced all the little guys in the investment group? Why not – the precedent has been set.

  52. enchantedbeaver says:

Prediction – Billz goes 6, gives up 3 so that its deemed a “quality start”, and comes away with a ND.

    • trublu4ever says:

I’m surprised you are giving him 6 innings. I’m going to give him 5 and, he will give up 4 runs. Hopefully, our hitters can overcome this.

      • crash24now says:

I’m expecting Dre to come in with a chip on his shoulder against the lefty starter. He will start up where Kemp left off yesterday, and hit at least two for extra bases.

      • nellyjune says:

I am hoping for that too! Let’s hope the rest of the team doesn’t come down with what Dre and Kersh had. Then again, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to have Uribe out for the year………..I mean night 🙂

        • enchantedbeaver says:

Last time I saw anyone swing like Uribe it was Andruw Jones. The guy couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn if he was inside with the door closed.

Can’t wait for Coffey’s debut. I’m sure we’ll see him tonight.

I haven’t a clue as to what Ned even remotely sees in guys like these when he signs them. They’re all the type you could wait until ST is about to start and then invite them to EARN their way onto the team. Ned gives them ML contracts instead and sends down better players to the minors or drops them off the 40 man. What the hell has Coffee and MacDogglecrap got that Tronco doesn’t other than a ML contract? (not that I want to see Tronco either, but I’d prefer him over these two in particular.)

  54. lbirken says:

I don’t have a clue who the young lady was sitting with Frank last night but if she has any intention of seeking a long term relationship with Frank she might as well hire a lawyer because that seems to be where most of his relationships end.

And I echo T.J. Simer’s sentiments in today’s L.A. Times questioning why Magic would associate with Frank in such a public place (and why Frank was even there in the first place). Remember, it was Magic who said he wanted to build on what Frank has done while owner of the Dodgers. Magic is revered in Los Angeles while Frank is despised. One would think new ownership would want complete seperation from old ownership but this does seem to be the case.

That leads me to Verducci’s article. While I find this article a bit disturbing, I cannot say I am surprised. While things may go as expected and the deal closes on time, I find it hard to accept that MLB approved Guggenheim without all the details. I still don’t understand why anyone would agree to having Frank involved at any level. Is MLB willing to once again overlook certain factors because the price makes all the other teams more valuable? Or is Bud so anxious to get rid of Frank that he will allow another deal with the devil? I still have a lot of questions about this deal and what it really means for the fans and the organization.

  55. trublu4ever says:

Tonights lineup: ss Gordon; 2b Ellis; cf Kemp; 1b Rivera; rf Ethier; lf Hairston Jr.; 3b Uribe; c Ellis and p Billz

  56. trublu4ever says:

Timmy gave up a two run dinger in the first inning 😉

  57. nellyjune says:

Mark Sweeney is on tv for the Padres.
