Welcome Home

The Camelback Ranch Camp is finished for the regulars and will’only be used for guys that are rehabbing or on extended spring training status from now on.  The Dodgers begin their annual spring wrapup series with the Angels tonight.

Soon to be Dodgers president Stan Kasten has reiterated his plan to focus on rebuilding the scouting and player development areas of the team.  That is a good thing since a couple of star players mentioned as possible free agent targets are now off the market.

Matt Cain of the Giants, and Joey Votto of the Reds have both signed extremely lucrative contract extensions.

Lets just hope that Logan White can locate a few impact position players to add to the fine young arms down on the farm.

Anyone going to be here for the game tonight?

  2. oldbrooklynfan says:

I guess we can call this the beginning of a new era.

  3. trublu4ever says:

    Marlins have some ugly-ass uniforms!

  4. trublu4ever says:

It feels great to get warmed up for the season!

  5. enchantedbeaver says:

Hey look, its Wally & Trumom!! How are y’all this evening? I’ve really been working on my sarcasm over on Gurnick’s blog this offseason, so I think I’m ready.

  6. enchantedbeaver says:

The Angels could probably make some waves if they actually had all the names they do in their primes.

Need some more seasoning before Ned will go after them though.

  7. trublu4ever says:

    Wow….good catch by Matt!

  8. enchantedbeaver says:

    Well, the hitting’s in mid-season form…

  9. trublu4ever says:

    Coffey’s on.

  10. vl4eccjr says:

    Good evening Dodger fans!
It appears that Kansas will need ALOT of divine intervention to pull off an upset against Kentucky tonight.

  11. enchantedbeaver says:

Yup, glad Coffey doesn’t have to earn a spot, but Lindblom does.

    What does Enchanted say?

    Fu-Q Ned!!!

  12. enchantedbeaver says:

Good think this one doesn’t count. Might take them a week to get the three back.

  13. JhallWally says:

Get your season predictions ready. We’ll go on the record Wednesday…..

  14. trublu4ever says:

    YAY….a run!

  15. sparkleplenty1 says:

I am suffering through this game. It started late because of a Clipper game, which is okay cuz I like the Clippers, but there is no Dodger feed and lucky me (?) gets to listen to the homer Angel announcers. I feel sick . . . . .

  16. vl4eccjr says:

Congrats Kentucky! Kansas tried to make it interesting at the end.
    Somewhere Adolph Rupp is smiling.

  17. enchantedbeaver says:

    Mid-season form indeed.

  18. JhallWally says:

    It’s DooDoo time…..

  19. JhallWally says:

    What does McDooDoo say?????

  20. JhallWally says:

    ( | )~~~~~ Pffffft

  21. enchantedbeaver says:

Kasten has no idea how much work is ahead of him…

    • sparkleplenty1 says:

As a South African friend of mine says, “If you’re going to eat an elephant, you must do so one bite at a time.” At least Kasten has a good idea of how to get the job done. I just hope it won’t be too far down the line timewise.

  22. nellyjune says:

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen!!! How is everyone doing?

  23. JhallWally says:

    Hey, we’re grinding…..

  24. nellyjune says:

Kind of nice to see Andre stealing bases. He said he worked on that aspect of his game a great deal, and having Davey Lopes around I am sure helps out.
    .
Hey Jhall!!! Are the Buckeye fans still in mourning? What a game that was though.

  25. enchantedbeaver says:

    Well, Kemp’s officially a mess.

  26. JhallWally says:

    Kemp’s a mess…..

  27. enchantedbeaver says:

Donnie might want to consider getting Kenley out of there before he flames him out for no reason.

  28. vl4eccjr says:

This is turning into a laugher. G’night all!

  29. nellyjune says:

The LA Kings game was much more exciting than the Dodger game.

  30. enchantedbeaver says:

Not seeing much to get enthused about tonight.

  31. enchantedbeaver says:

And Ned in his infinite wisdom takes Tronco off the 40-man so he can keep Belisario…

  32. enchantedbeaver says:

Well, it took the Angels to expose our weakness…

    The team.

  33. JhallWally says:

    We’re hosed Dodger Faithful……. Thanks Ned…..

  34. enchantedbeaver says:

Think Ned might be starting to sweat like a whore in church.

  35. JhallWally says:

    Good night True Blue Believers…… We’re hosed……

    Excelsior…..

  36. enchantedbeaver says:

Well that wasn’t very good now was it?

I’ll bid you adieu until tomorrow night and another installment of Bad Baseball.

  37. lbirken says:

My goodness, such discontent over another crummy spring training game. The Angels usually win these games anyway. Hopefully these last two games mean nothing and the Dodgers will get off to a good start against the Pads. I must say I did grow a bit tired listening to Rick and Charlie talk about how important these games against the Angels were to the players because the games were being played in a major league park with large crowds and better lighting. Maybe it is true but we did not have to hear it repeated so often.

  38. nedisajerk says:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Coffey

    Pitching style

Coffey mainly throws two pitches: a sinking fastball that goes up to 95–96 mph, and a sharp dropping slider at 81–82 mph.

He is best known for his full-speed sprints from the bullpen to the mound when he is brought into games. As a result, the Brewers introduced a “Coffey Time!” graphic on the scoreboard that kept track of Coffey’s time to sprint from the bullpen to the pitcher’s mound after getting called out to pitch. When Coffey sprinted to the mound, Former WWF Superstar the Ultimate Warrior’s entrance music was played. (Although Coffey now sprints out to a western movie song)

    • nedisajerk says:

I hate pitchers with only 2 pitches not name Rivera. I really hope the “Coffey Time” experiment end fast.

    • enchantedbeaver says:

I would think it would be better to be remembered for your pitching rather than your sprints from the bully to the mound…

Should’ve been a clue right there.

  39. oldbrooklynfan says:

Let’s hope tonight will be a better night. Especially for Kemp.
He’s been down this road before and found the turning point. I’m sure he will again.

  40. enchantedbeaver says:

    Howdy Brooklyn & Tru!!

  41. enchantedbeaver says:

Looks like Kemp’s going to be in for a long year.

  42. enchantedbeaver says:

Why has Ned been so hot on a guys trail that throws 86-89mph fastballs?

  43. enchantedbeaver says:

    Dazzling base running that inning.

Hope all this is making an impression on the new regime.

  44. enchantedbeaver says:

    Andruw Kemp.

  45. trublu4ever says:

YAY….a run! Off the bat of Matty 😉

  46. trublu4ever says:

    Tattoo….RBI !!!!!!

  47. sparkleplenty1 says:

Glad that Santana is out of there, although he wasn’t lights out. Takahashi seems easier to hit.

  48. sparkleplenty1 says:

Yep, he IS easier to hit.

  49. nedisajerk says:

You should retire when you give up a hit to Mr. Misty May Treanor.

  50. enchantedbeaver says:

What’s happening? Gameday’s on the fritz.

  51. enchantedbeaver says:

I can follow KC – SD though. Brox is on. Just K’d 2 of the three batters he faced. Spring ERA 1.13.

  52. trublu4ever says:

I really believe that when the new owners finally take over….they MUST get rid of Ned and Honeynuts….I don’t mind Tim and Davey. But, the other two are way over-rated.

  53. enchantedbeaver says:

Well, since gameday crapped out I think I will too. Catch you all tomorrow.

  54. lbirken says:

So far a better game than last night but it still doesn’t mean a thing.

  55. nedisajerk says:

I can’t believe they are doing that. We win 4-1 and we still have to bat in the 9th.

  56. nellyjune says:

Josh Lindbolm and Justin Sellers both made the Opening Day roster 🙂
