Say it isn’t so…

That son of Oklahoma, Matt Kemp, has been living the title of that old song “How ‘ya Gonna Keep ’em Down on the Farm (After They’ve Seen Paree?)” only he has seen Hollywood, New York and now London.ย  He was spotted recently with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna according to an article in the LA Times.

“…Per Bossip.com, we know that Kemp and Rihanna were spotted together in London not too long ago. That wouldn’t necessarily have to be significant, but the story goes that they were spotted in and around a nightclub.

Which makes one go “Hmmm….”

Now, it would be great if I could offer a definitive yes or no answer to the question of whether or not Kemp and Rihanna are back together are getting back together. I can’t. And to be honest, I’d rather not speculate.

But for the sake of Dodgers fans, I kinda hope that these two aren’t back together. After all, my guess is that we are all aware of the strange correlation between their relationship and the rotten season Kemp had in 2010…”

I have no idea whether Kemp’s off year in 2010 had anything to do with his relationship with the music superstar but it can’t hurt to recall the story of Samson and Delilah, the man whose great weakness was a beautiful woman.ย  Just keep away from those scissors Matt.

Wow….I was just going to post about this very topic! Thanks for saving me the trouble ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. grizzy says:

YUCK!!! Well…maybe he’s mature enough now to handle both. We can only hope.

    Not Beltre’s day. So far.

  3. trublu4ever says:

So far, the Tigers are Grrrrrrrrrreat! Keep it up and get more runs, just in case Penny gets in the game ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. 32and53fan says:

Rihanna’s message to Dodger fans who are worried that she might keep Kemp distracted next year…

  5. trublu4ever says:

    Uh, oh…..damn, Cruz!

  6. 32and53fan says:

Congrats Tigers! Now it’s the Brewers turn…

  7. vl4eccjr says:

I just hope Matt’s playing safe, wrapping his willy before he gets silly. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. messagebear says:

I don’t think it much matters what Matt does, because, unless the ownership changes very soon, he won’t be part of the Dodgers after next year anyway. With the kind of contract numbers he could be looking at, why would he or his agent consider extending with the Dodgers while the ownership situation is in flux. Would any of you sign on with the Dodgers under current ownership, unless you just plain couldn’t do better?

  9. Nellyjune says:

Good for the Tigers!!!! Let’s go Brewers!!!!
    .
In personal news, my son hit 90 MPH yesterday in a bullpen session, while the Long Beach State scout, and it’s only fall ball ๐Ÿ™‚
    .
If any of you are familiar with the collegiate baseball and the Northwoods League, Michael has already been invited to play for the Michigan team next summer. I found out about this league in all those articles I read about Andre. Andre played for the Rochester Minnesota team back in his ASU days. There are many current MLB players that have played in this league. Even our favorite JP played – lol!!!

  10. trublu4ever says:

Wolf sucks! Aren’t you glad we don’t have both, he and Lilly ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • JhallWally says:

LOL!! Right now I would take him over Billingsly. Sad to say.
Hope Billz gets his act together next year and comes close to being the #2 starter we desperately need.

Same with Ethier and Loney. They need to step up and be the #4 and 5 big bats we need.

  11. Nellyjune says:

Boy, this story about Matt and Rihanna is all over the place now – yikes!!

  12. JhallWally says:

    Wah-Hoo!! Brewers win!!!

  13. trublu4ever says:

Woo-Hoo! Way to go Tigers & Brewers!

  14. Does anybody REALLY give a shit who Matt’s dating?

There’s tons of issues with the Dodgers right now, let alone the country, let alone the world…. Who gives a damn?

I swear, I love the city of Los Angeles, but sometimes their starfucker media makes me sick. And it’s the offseason, Derek Fisher will likely be suited up in a uniform before Matt Kemp is.

Here’s the REAL story outta the L.A. Times (non-starfucker edition): Frank McCourt is going to be broke because he took the team into bankruptcy ( http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-1014-dodgers-value-20111014,0,7368679.story ). Ha Ha, Ha Ha Ha. How do ya like dem apples, ya chowdaheaded Masshole?!!!

As for the issue on where Matt Kemp stores his junk, I don’t give a fuck.

Not mad at anyone here, btw. Just at the key-dangling media. Jingle-jingle-jingly-jingle.

    • 32and53fan says:

I really hope this story is correct and that McCourt has to pay for his decision to declare bankruptcy by walking away after a sale by breaking even or better yet, in personal debt. I would love to see this guy being forced to get a real job and work 9-5 for the man.

    • selltheteam says:

      Finally – the IRS strikes!

“In a divorce court filing in August, Frank McCourt’s accountant noted that the 2006, 2007 and 2008 tax returns for Frank and Jamie McCourt “as well as certain entities that allocate income to them” are currently being audited “by federal and state taxing authorities,” with any liability yet to be determined.”

    • JhallWally says:

Very interesting stuff. I don’t really care how Frank and Jamie go away. Happy, mad, hurt, indifferent, rich, broke, etc…..

Just as long as they are GONE!!! And they take Ned Clownetti with them.

  15. Who knows if Kemp’s 2011 season and the split with Rihanna wasn’t a coincident. She may of had nothing to do with his bad 2010. I’d say let them be, at least over the offseason, than afterward just see what happens.
Kemp’s too good to make this affect his awesome talent.

  16. JhallWally says:

    GO BREWERS!!!!

If the Brewers pull off a win tonight, they will win the series.

    • JhallWally says:

Live it up for the next couple, three months Matt. Just be focused and ready for Spring Training my boy.

Next year is make or break for what is left of the young’uns from 05/06. Martin, Kemp, Ethier, Broxton, Billz, and Loney.

  17. trublu4ever says:

    Damn, Cards!

  18. vl4eccjr says:

Now’s the time Brewers! Smack the shit out of Dotel & take this back home!

  19. vl4eccjr says:

WTF is with this hp ump? I think he thinks Braun has a 9 iron!

  20. vl4eccjr says:

Poor Greinke can’t catch a break with this piss poor defense!

  21. vl4eccjr says:

Morgan is like a carbon copy of Pierre.

  22. trublu4ever says:

Sorry guys…..after watching Fielder during the playoffs, I don’t think he’s worth the money he’d want. Granted, he hits more homers than James but, at least Loney makes contact with the ball. And, James’ glove work is far superior.

    • vl4eccjr says:

He’s probably looking to get Texeira type money. He’s not worth it. His defense stinks compared to James’. Now Pujols on the other hand. . .

      • trublu4ever says:

I’d much rather have Albert. I’m thinking that the age factor is what makes Prince more attrative to future suitors. I still like James, though. I’d rather spend the money on other necessities.

        • vl4eccjr says:

I’d rather have Pujols too. It changes the whole dynamic of an offense when you have a beast like him in your lineup. He creates fear. Fear creates mistakes. Mistakes get crushed.
I don’t think the Cards are going to let him get away.
Oh boy! Two more runs for the Birds. UGH!

    • JhallWally says:

I’m with you Tru. Bring back Loney for $6M and see what happens. It is a make or break year for him.

  23. vl4eccjr says:

    G’night all!
    Hasta luego!

  24. It would appear that Ned may finally HAVE to take the route he should’ve taken years ago, and keep and play the kids.

Only way any decent decisions are made in this organization is when all other options have been taken away by attrition and they’re forced in the right direction by default.

    • JhallWally says:

Hi’Ya Beav!! You would think. But, you are talking about Ned. The guy who traded away our top outfield prospect in July for a middling catching prospect when we should clearly have been selling.

      • That deal’s gonna lay a giant turd in the punchbowl like all his others. I don’t think squat of Federshitz. No one (except Ned) gives away anykind of a real catching prospect. They’re too hard to come by.

        • JhallWally says:

Good point. Really good catching prospects are at a premium. Most of the reports on Nedersbitch, said he projected as a backup on a contending/good team. They should have traded Ethier for a couple of top tier prospects when his value was real high in July. Could have probably gotten real prospects for catcher, and 1st or 3rd.

Anyway, there’s not a whole lot of punch left in the bowl anymore. Ned has filled it with turds.

          • Other than resigning a few guys like Rivera and Miles, I don’t see next year’s team starting out much different than it finished with this season, which is actually better than they started with this year. We’re going to have to hope that Sands can play everyday, Dre makes a comeback, Uribe can at least be average, and Billz pulls his head out of his ass.

          • JhallWally says:

Yep. I agree. No impact signings. Except Ned will probably give a couple of stiffs too much money for too many years. Like Rivera and Miles. They should only be brought back for one year and cheap. Its time for Ethier, Loney, Billz, and Uribe to get it done or go away.

          • JhallWally says:

I also won’t be surprised if they drop the ball on Kemp, and we end up losing him.

          • What it always comes down to with NedCo is they’ll sign some stiffs and it will take Little Joe 2/3 of a season of playing them everyday before they figure out they’re worthless. By the time they actually put their best players out on the field, their season will be over. Just once I’d like to see this team put its best players on the field everyday at the start of the season regardless of age, reputation, or past exploits.

          • Of Kemp I have no doubts he’ll be playing somewhere else in 2013. What I guarantee will happen is they won’t trade him at the deadline for a king’s ransom and they won’t offer him arbitration in order to get draft picks.

          • JhallWally says:

Sad, but, unfortunately pretty spot on my brother. Getting late here. Think I’ll watch a little tube and rack it. Have a great weekend. Catch ya later.

          • You too my friend. Catch you later.

  25. vl4eccjr says:

    Holy shit!
A nine run inning in the 3rd for the Rangers! WOW!

  26. trublu4ever says:

Glad I didn’t have money on the Tigers ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • vl4eccjr says:

Me too! Penny got bombed!! I feel bad for the Tigers. This is turning into a laugher!

      • trublu4ever says:

I also think the Cardinals are going to win (even tough I hate them) and, poor Fox….not exactly the World Series matchup they hoped for!

        • JhallWally says:

          Tigers had a nice run.
I hope you’re wrong about the Cards Tru, as they are just a tad below the G’Aints on my Detest-O-Meter.
Right up there with the Wankees and Red Sux. I’ll definately be rooting for the Rangers if the Cards win the NL pennant.

          • trublu4ever says:

Me too, Jhall. i am usually a National Leaguer, but, there are a few exceptions……the gnats, of course….the Cards & Phillies! If, however, the Phillies were to be playing the Yanks or Red Sox, I’d take the Phillies.

  27. remember way back when, when Frank first bought the team, what did he say..

“Welcome to a new era of Dodger baseball,”…”I intend to restore the glory days of Dodger baseball with a team worthy of support from our fans. We’ve committed not just to buy this team, but to win a world championship

When asked about the 16 years since the last WS, Frank said, “That’s way too long,”..”My first objective is to end the drought. I truly know I can provide the leadership that this team needs to win.”

“The Dodgers are one of our great franchises,” commissioner Bud Selig said in a telephone interview. “We need stability there. We need a lot of energy. Having an unresolved ownership situation was, frankly, hurting the franchise.”

7 years later && what have we learned..

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1722375

  28. vl4eccjr says:

Congrats to the Rangers. They sure put an exclamation point on this win. Even though Cabrera wore their pitching out, they got it done. If the Brewers don’t pull this out, I’m a Ranger fan for the WS also.

  29. Nellyjune says:

It’s the Rangers for me regardless. The brewers just don’t excite me. Other than Ryan Braun, they are just yuck, blech! The Rangers need to take care of business and win like they should have last year against the gnats.

  30. messagebear says:

I got experience rooting for the Rangers last World Series. At least I’m getting to know their personnel. This year I hope they WIN. If the Brewers came through, I’d give them a rooting chance and be more or less impartial, but the Cards – Nyea!

    • Nellyjune says:

It’s pretty much how I see it too. If the Brewers manage to make it through, I will be okay with whoever wins. It won’t be gut-wrenching like last year – lol!!! And, there aren’t many bandwagon fans for any of the teams left.

  31. grizzy says:

I found myself rooting for the Cards and Rangers, or rather the ex- Dodgers on those teams. If the the Cards advance, I will not know who I’d want to win until the series starts. In the end, it will not matter very much so long as they play some good baseball.
    *
I’d rather have Pujols, but as pointed out above, he’ll be too over priced to bring to LA. Very few of those people are worth the money they are getting.

  32. northstateblues says:

To be truthful, I have probably watched a total of 3 innings of baseball between all the postseason series. I love the sport, but Selig has caused distaste and distrust of the MLB organization.

He has always seemed to me, to put it one way, like somebody made Barney Fife the Secretary of Defense. And he’s had enough harebrained schemes to fill 3 decade-long sitcoms (How’s that Tampa Bay expansion working, attendance-wise?).

McCourt has bent over backwards to ruin everything the Dodgers stand for, but only with Allan Bud Selig’s blessing. I wonder how many other commissioners would let the current incarnation of the beloved Brooklyn Base Ball Club be sold for IOU’s? How many would’ve done their homework?

The Owner-Commish experiment has failed. Back to Milwaukee, go botttle my beer, Laverne.

  33. messagebear says:

If it was against anybody but Frank, I wouldn’t mind if the judge handed Bud his head on a platter in bankruptcy court. Next to Frank, Bud is the most unprincipled incompetent asshole in major league sports. If there was a way, I’d like to see the judge scuttle them both.

  34. JhallWally says:

    Let’s Go Brew Crew!!!!!

  35. vl4eccjr says:

BOOM! Not good having yourself in a 4 run hole this early.

  36. JhallWally says:

Well, at least it is early and the Brewers have a potent offense.

  37. vl4eccjr says:

    Marcum got the hook quick!

  38. nedisajerk says:

    WTG Furcal.

  39. vl4eccjr says:

Damn! Playing long ball tonight. This park almost has the exact same dimensions as Wrigley. Not what I would call pitcher friendly.

  40. trublu4ever says:

It’s home-run derby night at the ballpark!

  41. And another one finds the seats – incredible!

  42. trublu4ever says:

Let’s have some fun and predict the final score……13 – 11, Brewers.

  43. vl4eccjr says:

This game is like watching an awakening rumbling volcano just waiting to erupt, and blow up big time!

  44. Nellyjune says:

    Come on Brewers!!!!

  45. vl4eccjr says:

More mental lapses by the Brewers!!

    • trublu4ever says:

I think they are choking! If not, they sure don’t look like a championship caliber team.

      • vl4eccjr says:

They are looking deflated. Some shutdown pitching & defense, along with putting together some kind of rally would get the crowd back into it. Maybe they can feed off that. It’s way too quiet, with not much to cheer about now.

  46. trublu4ever says:

Come to think of it, both teams’ pitching today is pretty pathetic….reminds me of our bullpen (except, of course, for Javy & Kenley).

  47. Nellyjune says:

And what happens with errors is it makes the pitcher work even harder to make up for it by trying to strike everyone out, and that’s usually not a good thing.
    .
I’m happy for Raffy, but at the same time it kinda sucks!!!

  48. The game is getting sloppy now. I hate defensive laziness when a team is leading by so many runs!

  49. trublu4ever says:

    Wow…umpire blew that one!

  50. vl4eccjr says:

How do you pronounce this Card pitchers name? It’s like something we’d refer to as ‘alphabet soup’ when I was a kid.

  51. nedisajerk says:

Why does these kickers always kick to Hester? Hester just ran back a KR 98 yards for a TD.

  52. Takashi is looking really good!

  53. JhallWally says:

Nice job Sammy. Anyone remember why we let him get away?

  54. Nellyjune says:

Let’s go Sammy!!! I miss Sammy.

    • JhallWally says:

Yep, me too. Ned wouldn’t pony up for Sammy, but wastes $12M on Grrrear. Go figure. This team is doomed to failure as long as Ned is the GM. It doesn’t matter who the owner is.

      • Nellyjune says:

We, at ITD/OTD, have been saying the same thing about Ned for how many years now, and he isn’t going to change because he bleeds orange and black gnat grossness. Oh, and he’s an idiot ๐Ÿ™‚

  55. trublu4ever says:

Wouldn’t you know it would be Saito to shut them down for an inning!

  56. trublu4ever says:

LOL…we were all thinking the same thing!

  57. vl4eccjr says:

I think Albert just added the final straw. . . .

  58. vl4eccjr says:

Anyone think that may be fat boy’s final AB in a Brewers uniform?

  59. vl4eccjr says:

Well, I have to give a slight edge to Freese for playoff MVP over Pujols.

  60. Darn fine catch by Jon Jay.

  61. vl4eccjr says:

Oh well! Pennant number 18 for the Cardinals.
Looks like I’m a Ranger’s fan once again by default for the WS.

  62. Nellyjune says:

I’m happy for Raffy, but Go Rangers!!!!

  63. vl4eccjr says:

18 pennants ties the Cards with the Dodgers & Giants. The numbers are on the Cards side winning 10 WS titles out of 17 tries.
    .
    .
I’m still rooting for the Rangers!!

  64. vl4eccjr says:

    G’night all!
    Till Wednesday.

  65. So glad Freese got the MVP. He really deserved it.

  66. Nellyjune says:

You know who’s hating life right now is Bob Lee. He is a Dodger fan living in red bird country. We feel for you Bob!!! We had to deal with the gnat bandwagon fans too. Totally empathize with you right now!! Hang tough!!! Hopefully Texas can shut them all up.

  67. Nellyjune says:

142 Days until the first Spring Training game against the gnats on March 6th. Let the countdown begin!!!

  68. Nellyjune says:

Frank and Jamie reached a settlement. Frank is now sole owner of the Dodgers. So, I’m guessing this is a good thing because it will make it easier for MLB to get rid of Frank, yes?

  69. messagebear says:

I don’t think the settlement helps at all, other than raising the question as to where the $130 million will be coming from to pay off Jamie. Having Jamie in the picture with a potential claim to half of the franchise would understandably have complicated the judge’s decision about certain rulings in bankruptcy. That’s why Frank probably finally gave in to Jamie’s demands, so that cloud would be removed from the picture. I’m sure that if there is one good thing that all those millions of dollars of legal expenses gives Frank it is good legal advice.

  70. selltheteam says:

Smart move on Jamie’s part. When Frankie loses the Dodgers, he won’t have dime one.

  71. nettiradio says:

    nettiradio…

    […]Say it isn’t so… « Outside the Dodgers[…]…
