All the Dodgers scored yesterday were two runs. But the Dodger pitchers held the Cardinals to only one run. Behind 1-0 in the ninth inning, Aaron Miles tripled in the tying run after Juan Rivera was hit by a pitch to open the inning. Moments later, Miles scored on hard grounder to Raphael Furcal.
Jerry Leiber, who along with his partner Mike Stoller wrote “Is That All There Is” and dozens of other hits died Monday. The songwriting duo, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, wrote many of the songs that were such a big part of the musical culture in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.
If two runs is all there is from the Dodgers offense, they won’t win many games. Only with great pitching can they expect to win when scoring such a low amount of runs.
This Day in Dodgers History
August 23, 1989 – The second-longest shutout in big league history ends when Rick Dempsey hits a home run in the top of the 22nd inning giving the Dodgers an eventual 1-0 victory over the Expos at Olympic Stadium. The Astros blanked the Mets for 24 frames en route to a 1-0 win at the Astrodome in 1968.
August 23, 2000 – Team president Bob Graziano apologizes to a female couple who were asked to leave Dodger Stadium on August 8th because the two shared a kiss during a game. The pair felt the action of the eight security guards was discriminatory because the couple’s friends, a man and a woman, also kissed but were not ejected.
Happy Birthday Casey Blake….it’s the shits to get old, isn’t it?! 😉
It’s hard to score when your #8 hitter is 1 for his last 58 at bats. Maybe Billz could play 2B. He’s a much better hitter than what’s his name.
It’s even harder to score when your #3 hitter(using the term loosely) until yesterday only has 3 singles in his last 45 PAs over the last 2 weeks. For a nifty .079 BA and .301 OPS with 0 HR and 0 RBI.
Also a nice August line of .191 BA/.276 OBP/.235 SLG/.512 OPS with 0 HR and a whopping 3 RBI. Currently on a blistering pace to hit 10 HR and 65 RBIs. I guess 9.5M doesn’t buy what it used to.
And No, its not Navarro or Loney. Although neither of them are doing much better.
You have to feel a bit sorry for Velez, as everyone knows he just doesn’t belong here. However, that does not forgive DilDon for starting him. Geez!! That probably even made JoJo whince. And there is no one to blame but Ned for players like Navarro who have always sucked. Why would this year be any different? But, there is no excuse for Loney and Ethier. They are two of the cornerstone players that this team has been built around for the last 3 years and they just flat out aren’t getting it done.
Correction. On a pace to hit 13 HR. Sorry!!! That should be good for a raise in arbitration. Geez!!!
Velez hit a weenie fly ball to LF on his last AB yesterday. I think he was hoping for a bloop single. He was disappointed when the left fielder got to it. Probably the closest he has been to a hit all year.
I would feel sorry for Eugenio4ever if the Dodgers were a Little League team. Wait a minute…..
Seems like Velez is the lightening rod right now for what is wrong with our team. Like I said, everyone knows Velez doesn’t belong on a major league roster. The blame for him goes on Ned for signing him and Dildon for playing him.
The current state of the Dodgers and the blame for it can be spread around. It’s not all on one person.
1. Frank and the McCourt ownership.
They shoulder the blame for their total mismanagment and pillaging of the franchises revenue for their own personal greed and vanity. Thus, we could not acquire or attract the top tier free agent talent like Halladay, Lee, Fielder, etc….. even thought we play in the 2nd largest market in baseball. And now with public disgust for the McCourts showing its wrath at the turnstiles, the franchises ability to pursue top drawer talent or even keep its own talent is in even greater jeopardy. Also, the Frank fiasco has to be a huge distraction to the players. I don’t care what DilDon and they actually say. They can’t come right out and say what they think of their owner. However, Ethier and Lopes have come the closest and Martin pretty much said it when he left.
2. Ned Colletti.
Although for reasons I can’t figure out, Ned has not been held accountable for his incredibly bad baseball player decisions during his Dodger tenure that have led to the miserable dung heap we now have masquerading as a major league team. My guess is that the Frank divorce and financial issues have clouded the waters enough that Ned is sneaking under the radar. Also the fact that we play in an incredibly bad division that allowed the Dodgers to make the playoffs with very mediocre teams. Regardless, as Beav has pointed out, we still have the 12th highest payroll in baseball at over 100M per year. There are plenty of teams out there having far more success than we are on much less money. The difference? They have a GM that is actually qualified for the job. Not a G’nat and Cub PR castoff that has absolutely no baseball sense or saavy.
3. DilDon
He gets somewhat of a bye as Ned has not exactly given him much to work with. However, some of his decisions and lineups are just mystifying at times and just plain ignorant at other times. He obviously doesn’t teach or enforce the fundamentals of winning baseball nor inspire pride and quality play like a Scioscia or a Gibson. Just a JoJo clone. And Torre is incredibly overrated because of a lucky tenure with the Yankees that just outspent everyone. His record other than with the Yankees is less than impressive. DilDon is more worried about hurting his players feelings than winning games and needs to get some kahoonas.
4. Coaching and Training Staff
Conte and Honeycutt are a freaking joke. Also Pentline. Pentline is gone and our new hitting coach, Dave Hanson, is not having any better luck. Alot of the problems in this department were created by Ned and his terrible judgement of talent. However, with the above average rate of players we have going on the DL and the various physical and mental maladys and underperformance of our pitching staff over the years, it’s time to take a good hard look at the head trainer and pitching coach.
5. Underperformance of key players
For whatever reason, when key players that are counted on to produce at or near their career levels fail to do so, the results are generally not going to be good.
Loney, Ethier, Furcal, and Blake have all underperformed greatly this year. That is your projected #1, 2, 3, and 5 hitters all not producing at adequate levels and especially in positions(1B, 3B, and RF) where power and run production is critical and expected. Of course we all knew that counting on a fragile Furcal and an over the hill Blake was dicey at best. We rolled the bones and came up snake eyes.
Loney and Ethier have just flat out not gotten the job done. Ethier is overrated and at almost 30 years old, cannot live up to the numbers he put up in his first 3 years. I’m not sure if the reason is that he is just not as good as his earlier performance has led us to believe, or that the ownership turmoil and subsequent lack of a quality supporting cast(more on that later) has just sucked the old Andre down the drain. Pretty much the same for Loney.
JHall – Excellent analysis of our situation! As for Eugenio4ever, as much as I like to poke fun at his misery, he is more of a symptom rather than a cause of our last place performance.
Thanks Crash!! Velez is certainly taking the flak for Ned and DilDons’ collective ineptitude
6. Underperformanc of key pitchers
Garland, Padilla, Broxton, and Bellisario were all being looked and counted on to make major contributions to a much better than average pitching staff. Well, again, we came up with snake eyes on those rolls. Totally crapped out.
Lilly, Billz, and Grrrrear. Again, signed and expected to be major contributers. While not total busts(although I know many of you think they are), they have been average at best and for the most part disappointing.
7. Lack of quality supporting players.
This is an area that Ned should be taking most of the heat.
Uribe, Thames, Gibbons, Velez, McDooDoo, Hawksworth, Cormier, Navarro, and Barajas. These are the peripheral players that were signed to at least fill in adequately enough around the big guys. Except for Barajas, pretty much a total bust once again. Which you could have looked at the back of their baseball cards and pretty much figured out. Daahhh, they suck. But, good grief, that was never the question. They sucked going in. Kind of unrealistic to expect to get Shinola from Shit. Although that is what Neds MO has been over the years. The trouble is, he doesn’t know Shit from Shinola!!!!
Anyway, the bottom line. This franchise is very ill. First thing to do is treat the major outward symptoms(crummy team) by firing Ned. Then treat the underlying cause by eradicating the infection that is Frank and the McCourt ownership.
Excellent posts my brother!
Thanks Beav!!! Had a little bit of down time this afternoon. Watched the Indians beat the Mariners. TRob had a 2 doubles, scored a run and drove in 2. No strikeouts. Now batting .271. OPS of around .750. Another incredibly stupid Ned move especially considering we weren’t going anywhere and there was no urgency to make a move. Catching prospects as good as Federwhatever are a dime a dozen.
Even stupider when you consider we have no LFer to begin with, and little hope of retaining Dre & Kemp.
Not to mention we don’t have any catching prospects because Ned traded them all away for nothing.
Say what you will about Frank, but Ned’s total incompetence has cost this franchise yet another 3-4 years of misery.
Brilliant posts, Jhall. The exact reasons we, as a franchise, are a freaking mess!
Thanks Trumom!!!!
According to MSTI, Navarro was DFAd. 😉
AJ back up with us.
Guess they didn’t like his recent sloppy play behind the plate.
His hitting has always been slop.
When the hell is Velez going to get the boot?!
When the hell is Ned?
Good question!
In 8 days, when rosters expand..
Velez-less and Navarro-less Lineup
Sellers ss
Loney 1b
Kemp cf
Rivera lf
Ethier rf
Miles 3b
Barajas c
Carroll 2b
Kershaw p
Eugenio4ever to continue his quest to get a hit from the bench.
The bench is way too close to the field.
Now, if DilDon had a brain and some nads, he would move Ethier down to 7th in the order and move Miles and Barajas up to 5 and 6.
Just heard Beimel was DFA’s too….Ned is probably licking his chops!
Ned is probably kissing Frank’s ass.
Oh sorry – same difference.
He’s been kissing his ass so much, a case of chap-stick must be needed.
Ned is such a kiss ass he uses Preparation H as lip balm.
LMAO!!!
Now that’s funny!
Remember Beimel was the fan’s choice for a bobble head a few season’s ago?
I do remember that and, I also remember a long, long time ago when Brox meant….”Game Over” 😉
The only point I would add to Wally’s analysis is that we all knew going into this season that the only way the Dodgers had a chance to compete for a division title is if there were no significant injuries and every player produced as expected. We all knew the so called back up players had limited abilities no matter how well they played. The lack of hitting that has plagued this organization for years continue.
As for Ethier, who knows for sure what is going on
with him. When he came to the Dodgers from Oakland it was well known he could hit but at the time, he had not demonstrated he could hit for power. He looked pretty much like the other young outfielders he was competing with, Repko and Werth. Were we fooled by his power numbers? Is something bothering him physically or mentally? Only he knows for sure.
And I thought only his hairdresser knows for sure!
O.K., I know what that comment means; who else knows?
I know Miss Clarol!! LOL!!!
I bet you do! 😉
Heh, heh, heh, heh…….
Damn his right pinky. His power numbers have been off ever since he broke it.
Good riddance to Novarro! Now, how long before EugeniO for forever gets kicked to the curb?
Still has to be a tough day when a player is told his services are no longer required. It is not like he has been traded; at least that means another team wants him. By the way, didn’t Navarro have 2 or 3 walk off hits this season?
Well, that was a productive couple of hours. Went out for a little jog and some exercise and come back to see that they finally woke up and DFAed that fat lazy ass Navarro. Good riddance to the sorry son of a bitch.
Maybe he will sneak Velez in his suitcase and take him away too!
Well, at least I get the feeling that Velez is giving it 100% when he is out there. I didn’t get that impression from Navarro.
He is Donnie’s grinder! 100% of nothing is still 0 😉
I guess we will always need a little whipping boy player that looks like Juan Pierre.
Don’t hide your feelings Wally. Let it out.
:)) Well, going into the last couple of weeks, I had one Dodger nerve left. And dammed if Navarro didn’t get on that one. LOL!!!
Hey Beav, just read your post about the money Ned has wasted compared to what Frank has pilferred over in Gurnicks blog. Ned has been much worse for the team than Frank.
enchantedTheBeav 1 minute agoin reply to bakes2
Schmidt $47M
Manny $45M
Pierre $44M
Andruw $36.2M
Uribe $21M
Nomar II $18M
Mueller $9M
That’s $220+M, and I’m being kind by not putting Lilly on there. Throw in the 9-12 scrubs he hires per year at at least an average of $1M per player X6 years and there’s another $54 to $72M. They say Frank blew $108 to $180M of the team’s money. Ned’s easily up to $300M, probably closer to $400M if one wanted to take the time to really figure it out.
There were some morons over there a couple days ago still giving Ned a pass because of Frank not having any money to spend. That argument only goes so far and stops at we can’t get any premier FAs to come here because of the money and BS. Ned’s had money to spend. What Ned lacks is competence to spend it correctly.
There were also so people over there who didn’t like others putting our own players down and giving them derrogatory nicknames like DilDon. They were really chastizing one guy for it.
I’ve been following you giving that bunch of homers a dose of reality. Alot of them can’t handle the truth.
Wah-Hoo!! The game is free on MLBTV tonight. Go Kersh!!!
Men on, men on!
Not anymore….way to go Matty…you bought them home!
WTG MATT!! He may like the 3 hole!
Saaaaa-Weeeeeeeet!!! Kemp for MVP!!
Dre showing his frustration. . .
Wow, as quickly as the Dodgers scored three runs they made three outs. Poor Ethier will see nothing but sinkers tonight.
Three run homer! I like it! Matt still wants his 40/40 season.
It looks a little “steamy” in St. Louis. Ugh, I hate humidity!
Ditto.
You can tell it’s miserable by seeing how lathered up Kersh is already.
The day game tomorrow will be even worse.
Kersh did a fine job of getting out of the jam. I think that is the main difference between him and Billz.
Good point Tru!!!
The plane!! The plane!! Nice hitting Tattoo!
( 😉 )
Justin is MY grinder 😉
Why do I get the feeling that rather than seeing Sellers as a potential 2Bman next season, Ned will want to trade Gordon instead?
I want to keep both of them. I think it would be fun to watch the two boys.
The Dodgers who have allowed just 35 first-inning runs. Los Angeles is on pace to allow 45 first-inning runs, which would be the fewest by a National League team since 1920. The 1975 Dodgers’ team holds the record with 49 runs allowed.
Who are these guys masquerading as baseball players wearing Dodger uniforms?
I know! Actually hitting the ball….what a surprise!!
Maybe getting rid of some weight took a load off. 😉
Whatever Hansen’s telling Loney, it seems to be working. He’s back up to .268
Na….I just think James got pissed off we were calling him Loweeney!
And whatever he’s telling Dre isn’t.
dayuummm…
lohse is still in the game..
he gets DFA’d after tonight’s game
Dodgers are whooping ass on him..
Ethier’s the only one that’s struggling off of Lohse right now..
It’s refreshing to see Kersh get some real run support for a change.
Who knew? Baseball IS more fun when you score.
Everything is more fun when you score 😉
I already knew it was fun when I score though.
( ( 🙂 ) )
Must be weird to know that Kersh is the only starter that will probably have a winning record after this season is said and done.
Billz is good, but I’ve come to the conclusion that he needs a change of scenery. He can’t progress from what he’s been doing now for some 3 season. The excuses have all been used to death, and this was his season to shine. To prove why he earned that contract. Obviously, his record says one thing, but his overall numbers say another.
I love him and all, but he needs to be moved. For whom I ask?
Way to go Rod!
Do you guys love that 1st inning stats? Barajas is looking for a contract next season and I won’t be shock if it’s another 3 years contract.
Neither would I Shad. Neither would I. 😦
They still have Lohse on and pitching.
“Dead man walking the Green Mile”
Barajas, a potential FA, is the #2 HR hitter on this club. wow..
I can’t see how Ned and the Dodgers can justify the TRob trade if they don’t bring up Federwhatever next year and give him a shot at the everyday job.
I heard we may get a glimpse of him come September.
I would certainly hope so. I’m still holding out hope that Frank will throw Ned under the bus in October.
He’ll fire everybody and get Jim Hendry or he’ll pass over DeJon Watson or Logan White just like he did Kim Ng. Pathetic.
He’ll take it to the grave as saying that there was a need and a gluttony of OF’s which equaled the chance to get a catcher.
2012…
Catching and batting 7th for your Los Angeles Dodgers, Rod Barajas.
He’s making a serious bid over the last week.
He did it last year when we picked him up from the Mets..He’s a streaky hitter.
WOW!!! Where did all these runs come from? WAY TO GO DODGERS!!!
It is kind of shocking, isn’t it?!
Maybe it’s the earthquake on the east coast. It screwed made everything go haywire – 🙂
I really screwed that up!!! I blame the east coast earthquake too – lol!!!
Hi’Ya Nelly. While you were away, we replaced your team. LOL!!!
WTF took you so long?
LOL!!!
I agree with Lbirken!! What took you so long? 🙂
When you have to listen to the feed from the other teams and hear all the different announcers…..you realize how lucky we are to have Vinny. He IS in a class by himself.
Yung, I don’t think I am quite ready to give up on Billz yet. He may not be great but he still is better than most. He does seem to lose it quickly when things don’t go his way but he reminds me a bit of Derrick Lowe and Brad Penny in that regard. Both of those guys are still around earning a paycheck.
True, but how many years can we excuse the fact that once he gives up a dinger, he is lost and can’t locate. Of Course, that can be said of most pitchers, but when he came up, he was being considered as a #1, and when Clayton came on, he was #1B. But he hasn’t gotten better with age or time. He seems stalled and at the very least, incapable of gearing up after getting driven.
In 08, he won 16 games, and then he’s only won 12 games each of his last two seasons, and probably this one as well. Furthermore, his SO rates have diminished each season since 08.
That’s my conclusion, and as well, his contract,
2011 26 Los Angeles Dodgers $6,275,000
2012 27 Los Angeles Dodgers $9,000,000
2013 28 Los Angeles Dodgers $11,000,000
2014 29 Los Angeles Dodgers $12,000,000
2015 30 Los Angeles Dodgers *$14,000,000
He certainly isn’t the first to show a decline after signing a big contract and he won’t be the last.
Now, all I’m saying is that $14 mil for a 30 yr old who probably will stay at this current talent level is probably too much. Heck, Brad Penny was 30 when he left, and he left with $9 mil in hand, and with Billz, he gets almost 2x as much. Penny went 16-9 and 16-4 at the age of 28 and 29 respectively, and he only won $5 and $7 mil, and again, Billz gets double. That’s too much for not much value IMO.
He has certainly been a disappointment so far. Alot easier to change the pitching coach than the pitching staff. I’d like to see what Billz could do with a different pitching coach as I don’t think Honeycutt is all that good. Also, Billz was pitching better when Ellis was catching him. Now that Ellis is back, maybe that will help him.
Unless we get Duncan from the Cards, Billz has no chance to really progress. DilDon and Bunnynuttz should never of been brought back, let alone made to lead a team that they couldn’t teach..They couldn’t do it when they were coaches of Torre and can’t do it now.
I think you lay a lot of the blame for that on Bunnynutts. He’s never helped him progress as a pitcher.
Well, it’s 50/50 blame. The Dodgers have to groom him, but he has to develop the pitches himself, the deception, velocity and fearlessness to throw fire. He seems like he’s holding back from throwing gas and instead wants to nibble or leave it hanging. That’s on him to throw a pitch that says
“IM GETTING THIS PITCH ACROSS THAT PLATE AND THERE AINT A DAMN THING YOU CAN DO TO STOP IT”
Hey NED……Trayvon is 4 – 4 tonight…double, 3 singles, a run and an rbi…and, he is hitting .327…..and, you give us eugenio4ever!
Possible that Tray may go down as Ned’s biggest blunder of all.
And that’s saying something.
I honestly dont know what he was thinking! Or, maybe I should say, I don’t know what he was smoking!
Can’t we just put everything during Ned’s tenure as GM in a box and mark it as his biggest blunders. That would more accurately portray his time here.
Kersh gets out of the jam!
Well, I guess we cannot resolve Billz ourselves. It is up to him. Anyway, have a great rest of the game.
Catch you later Birk.
always good to have a hearty conversation.
That’s what makes it fun.
IDK, fighting it out works for me just as well..
🙂
We are an energetic group. 😉
lol..
I’d do it just for fun..
Good to release some of that built up testosterone..
😉
😉 😉
trublu, have I ever mentioned that your gravitar, I think that’s what you call them, is finely detailed.
😉
And the letters that show spell out OG..
lol..
The only current player I am ready to give up on is Velez. He should have never been signed based on the fact he sucked with the gnats too.
.
I have come go the conclusion that nothing good is going to happen to any of the players once this season is over as long as Frank and Ned are owner and GM. So, I am thinking of the Dodgers as an actually team rather than individual players. They are going to win or lose as a team. I learned that this weekend while watching NASCAR. My driver had a horrible race last weekend, and after debriefing their issues, he came back and said,(paraphrasing) “on good days and bad, there is no other team I rather be with, and I hope the team thinks the same thing of me.”
.
GO DODGERS!!!
I love the fact that punk Kyle lost his drivers license in court for drivng like an idiot.
Hey…I like that punk 😉
Guess he’ll have to be chauffered around to run errands & get to the track with his license suspended for 6 months. If I remember right, Rick Mears went through the same situation years back due to some drunk driving.
I think it’s kind of funny. But, then again, I have a warped sense of humor.
It’s funny because most of them having been driving well before the age of 16.
Holy shit…Barjas, again! Dodgereric’s wife will be happy!
There’s no substitute for a 3-run bomb.
WOW!! Rod’s having a night!!! I thinks he’s loving the fact that Nobatro is gone!
Maybe Barajas will be back next season. As backup maybe or Ellis stays up and that catcher they got for my friend Robinson, stays in the minors.
At this pace, Ned says that Barajas resigning is a top priority.
Wow!!! I hope Chris (Eric’s wife) is watching this game!!! Rod is hot tonight……and he’s playing pretty good tonight too!! 🙂
One thing I like about Sellers so far – he doesn’t strike out a lot.
yep….you put the bat on the ball and good things can happen.
truer words can never be spoken..
What’s the dback doing? I just seen that trade they just made.
Kelly Johnson for Aaron Hill and John McDonald.
Do the dback think Hill is going to hit like he did couple of year back?
Kersh needs a replacement jersey…his is soaked through and must weigh 20 pounds 😉
take it off take it off…
ba chickaa wowww wowwww…
😉
Just imagine if it was one of those old time heavy wool jerseys! His pitch count is way up. Just hope the bullpen can keep damage down to a minimum.
Me too. Our bullpen scares the hell out of me.
I think it makes all of us uneasy. Jansen can’t get back quick enough.
I’m hearing it should be soon.
Yay…Dbacks finally won a game. So, the gnats can’t be in first place!
Yay!!!
Thanks god they won that ame and need it bad.
Nice job by Kersh although he has thrown alot of pitches. 108. I think you’ve got to give it to the bullpen with an 11 run lead, the heat index, and number of pitches he’s thrown.
I agree….I think 11 runs is a safe number. Even if they give up some we should still win. Watch, it will end up 11 – 10 😉
Nah, these bastards will cruise with a big lead. The sorry asses do all right when there is no pressure. They suck in close games and when inheriting runners. Except for Javy and Kenley, we don’t have anyone in the BP that can fill out the big girl panties.
Think they better make Rod pee in a cup.
LMAO Enchanted…..Ned will for sure resign Rod next year now
I can almost guarantee a 2 year contract with a 3rd year option.
I still think a 1 year deal with a 2nd year option.
The way things are going tonight, eugenio4ever will get his first hit.
Nope! Although, two of those strikes were not really a strike all night.
Eugeni-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Well, he’s got as many hits as Ethier tonight.
Yeah. Ethier did scrape a walk & score a run though, so his suck-ometer wasn’t in the red as far. LOL
Yes he did!!!
.
Andre just needs a hug 😦
0-26
Bring up Travis Denker and why do we have to suffer with Velez? He broke the 0/25 record held by Drew.
It’s always alot of fun taking the Cards behind the wood shed and giving them a good lickin’. I hope we play this good against the G’Aints.
The gnats are currently getting beat by the Padres 3-0.
Love it!
Sweet!!
Make that 4 – 0!
Wow I love when position player pitch and time to see Loney pitch.
Ka-boom…that’s why position players shouldn’t pitch!
Mighty Mite Miles!!!
what the hell – Aaron Miles!
Miles joins the party.
Darn shame that Velez didn’t get an AB against him.
Way to go Aaron!!!!!
Kcal showing Miles pitching last year.
Has Hawksworth ever had 3 innings of relief since becoming a Dodger?
I don’t think anybody has! Here goes the shut-out!
Yep! He looked spent.
Now I just hope Kuo throws strikes.
Rox just went up by two over the Stro’s.
Well so much for the rare 3 innings save.
As of now I’d have to say Verlander in the AL & Kershaw in the NL for the Cy Young.
Wow!! We opened a 40 ouncer of whoop ass on them tonight. Sure hope they’ve got some left for Kuroda tomorrow.
Good job!! Go Puds, beat the G’Aints!!!!
These type games have been all too few this season.
The last rout like this was the 10-0 game I saw in Minnesota.
I thought it was 15-0.
I hope the boys hydrate well. Tomorrows game weather sounds miserable! 100 & Humid should send the heat index into the stratosphere!!!
Dang if Hawks would’ve gotten a save it could’ve been the 8th different relievers to get at least one save leaving Kuo as the one that haven’t gotten one yet.
That was a bonehead play by the Padres.
Woo-hoo! Puds hold off the Gints 7-5. We’re still in last place and the Gints fall another game behind the Dbacks.
