Ned Colletti – Cub GM?

Could the Cubs lure Ned Colletti back to Chicago?  Tony Jackson speculates about that tantalizing possibility.

Not too many plays are as exciting or as rare as an inside-the-park home run.  Our Aussie with the winning smile accomplished just that yesterday.  The Dodgers battled the Rockies only to lose 7-6 in the 13th inning.

This Day in Dodgers History

August 21, 1975 – The Reuschel brothers of the Cubs join forces to blank the Dodgers, 6-0. Rick goes 6 1-3 innings and Paul finishes the game for the first shutout thrown by siblings.

    NED COLLETTI – WORTHLESS GM!

  2. grizzy says:

Our guys must be comfortable being 11 games under. Seems to be their level.

  3. grizzy says:

Every player goes through a bad streak, and how much this off field crap influences the dugout is hard to say. I’d bet money Ethier cares and wants to contribute. Not a good situation for a positive mind set, but I doubt he’s trying to play/not play his way off the team.

  4. DodgerZona says:

Ned to the Cubs? Say it isn’t so lol….Plz Ned take the job

  5. DodgerZona says:

    Ned= Worse GM in Baseball

  6. messagebear says:

Without knowing too much about the Cubs’ ownership, I have to assume that their owner is too smart to consider Ned as a replacement GM. In fact, I can’t imagine anybody but Frank being dumb enough to offer Ned a GM job. You have to assume that any half-way proficient owner would really be interested in how their team performs on the field. Ned does not have any kind of convincing record in that respect.

Ned is a WORTHLESS PIECE OF CRAP, and if we know that on Inside and Outside the Dodgers, why would that be a secret to the MLB owners. If having lived and worked in Chicago is such a big deal, by all means let it be known that I’ve lived and worked there too.

  7. DodgerZona says:

    Bear,

I’m sure your right….It just would be great if Ned got that job but i’m sure we are stuck with the POS

  8. vl4eccjr says:

Any MLB team owner that would even mention Ned in the running for ANY position in management would be over medicated, an alcoholic, not playing with a full deck, or ALL the above!

    Good Afternoon Outside Peeps!!

Tough loss yesterday. Really doesn’t matter since this team is not going anywhere this year. Or next year if Ned is still employed. Maybe if we tank big time the rest of the way, Frank will wake up and throw Ned under the bus to deflect some of the negative attention from his self. One can hope.

Anyway, it is fun to watch some of the young players like Sellers and Oeltjen. Sure hope I don’t have to watch players like Navarro and Loney next year.

Oh well, hope Billz has a great game and we can score him some runs.

Here’s hoping the Astros break out the brooms against the Giants today! They have an early lead. Bochy already yanked the starter, and ex Dodger hurler Mota gave them the lead. 😉

  11. JhallWally says:

Big game today. We could be tied for 3rd or in last after today. Staying out of the cellar and trying to finish ahead of the Rox and Puds is about all that there is left to play for this year. That, and hopefully helping to keep the G’Aints from winning the division and making the playoff. They should be taking a long look at some of the young players from the farm the rest of the way.

I’m hoping we finish 3rd for Kersh and Matt. I figure, if we finish pretty strong, Kersh may have a sht at Cy Young and Matt, perhaps, MVP (he has to get it going again).

Oops, there goes Billz…giving up the bomb!

  12. trublu4ever says:

    Woo-hoo….Loweeney…rbi

  13. JhallWally says:

Crap!! Carroll got robbed on a nice play by Giambi. Navarro just sucks.

  14. trublu4ever says:

    Way to go Matty!

  15. JhallWally says:

Wah-Hoo Kemp!!!! Without Kemp and Kersh, this team would be a good bet to lose 100 games.

  16. Nellyjune says:

    WAY TO GO JAMES!!!!

  17. vl4eccjr says:

With the numbers Loney puts up at Coors, I bet he wishes he would play here more often.

  18. trublu4ever says:

I’ll bet James would love to play for the Rockies. He hits well there. Of course, Helton would have to retire 😉

  19. JhallWally says:

Definately playing in Coors Field against a washed up rag armed pitcher. Good job Loweeney!!!! Sorry Nelly, he’s still below the Phew line.

  20. OK, so I’m fishing a different part of Lewis Creek today. Not catching much (5 really small brookies.) Didn’t really expect to in the first place, but went because its just a much prettier part of the creek.

Been fishing for about 3 hours and my reel breaks. Fortunately on this day, knowing I’d be further away from the car I took my backpack so I could throw a bottle of water in it, which also happens to have a back-up reel in it (the backpack, not the bottle.) So I rerig and am fishing for about 5 minutes when… The great pants mishap occurs.

All of a sudden I feel a breeze where there should be none. Pretty much blew out a cheeks worth. How? I don’t know. Just one minute it wasn’t there and the next it was. I did fish another 5-10 minutes all cheeky because dammit, there was no one around and there were a couple really good looking spots. I got to thinking though I’m bound to run into some people the closer I get back to the trail and waterfall, so I decided to beat a retreat back to the car so as not to scare the tourists and upset the locals.

So what have I missed so far?

  21. vl4eccjr says:

Loney’s having a good week today.

  22. JhallWally says:

C’mon Billz!! Let’s get thru the sixth.

  23. Nellyjune says:

I’m stealing this from Eric Stephen over at TrueblueLA, but maybe James needs to warm up in the bullpen everyday 🙂

  24. Nellyjune says:

Guess what?….Furcal sprained his thumb when he tripped over the batting cage at Wrigley Field. I’m guessing he is heading back to the DL, but as a Cardinal this time.

  25. vl4eccjr says:

Going to extra innings in Houston. The Stro’s blew the chance for a walk off with bases loaded.

  26. trublu4ever says:

    Good eye #12!

  27. JhallWally says:

Its way past time for Dildon to move Ethier out of the 3 hole. Probably afraid of hurting his feelings. Need to bat Kemp 3rd and Rivera 4th.

  28. I think this team has found its niche – 4th place.

  29. trublu4ever says:

    Navarro SUCKS!

  30. trublu4ever says:

    Damn….gnats won in extra innings.

  31. JhallWally says:

Another one gets by Navarro. Anyone care to tell me why in the hell he is still on this team. Geez!! Bring up Ellis and Federwhatever. Good Grief!!!

  32. trublu4ever says:

49,083 paid attendance. Oops, wrong stadium 😉

  33. Dumb ass would’ve needed a sequoia to reach that one.

  34. Nellyjune says:

Okay!!! NASCAR sucked today!! The Dodgers suck today!!! ….but Enchanted’s story was totally awesome!!! 🙂

  35. trublu4ever says:

    YUCK!

  36. DodgerZona says:

LOL Tru…..And there she blows…On to Stl

  37. DodgerZona says:

    You all have a goodnight

  38. JhallWally says:

Padres are winning. Could be in last place again by tonight. And they deserve to be in last when you keep players like Navarro in the lineup. Freaking pathetic.

  39. Nellyjune says:

Enchanted – It’s almost 5 hours later, and I am still laughing about your story. It will be one of the good highlights of this dreary Dodger season.

    • trublu4ever says:

I was kind of hoping for a photo 😉

    • 32and53fan says:

I had to grout a tile floor and my pants ripped too. Not just in the seat, but the left pocket and the right knee. Its like the fabric just lost all strength. Speaking of loss of strength, I am not in shape for the type of work I did today. My heart was beating at aerobic level and I was drenched in sweat. Now I know the meaning of sweat equity.

  40. selltheteam says:

Thanks to Frank and Ned, we are now in last place.
