Ned Half Franked It!

No more playing games, no more talking through reps or speaking eloquently so as to mire the truth in lies. Ned messed up this Trade Deadline worse than any other deadline. In what other deadline have we seen this team become worse while trading something, gaining nothing and trading for nothing worthwhile in return. We were neither buyers nor sellers. We were spectators, and horrible at that. Not only did we leave it up to the players to decide the teams fate, but when that power was shifted to Ned, he gutted the farm of the one player that could make an impact on this team, for players that will fizz out before they turn 30. Can you say CAREER MINOR LEAGUER?

In one fell swoop, we lost our Top Minor Leaguer and showed the rest of the baseball world that we have stupidity pouring out of our “managements” ears.

1. Hiroki should have been traded, but due to the fact that he was given ridiculous amounts of money for mediocrity, even if bare assistance from the lineup resulted in much of his problems, he even received a No Trade clause. What the hell did Ned do besides give a trade chip the leverage to take advantage of the team for no reason at all?  Not only did he do so with right, but he did it with his damn pride intact, as if the team owed him anything. A lot of teams were looking at him as the Trade Jewel other than Ubaldo, but he didn’t want to seem as though he was being thrown out the door. As if his performance and age was not important in today’s game. As if? This one will hurt further, because his denial of a trade factored into the other trade, made out of desperation, and the lack of further trades.

2. Trayvon Robinson, former standout at Crenshaw High was traded to the Red Sox for a Catcher, RP, and a SP. What’s the problem here.? They’re all 24 and older, in AA ball, not very good offensively or refined in pitching mechanics or 2nd out pitches. The two pitchers figure to become relief pitchers in the long run, and the 24 yr old Catcher, whom is being touted as the next coming of David Ross, not much offense, but plenty defense, career backup type player, for a budding big leaguer who led the team in HR’s, RBI’s etc., is just that, not much. We needed offense, blue chip players, but instead we got the busted items from the 99 cent only store.

3. Raffy was traded for beans. Not literally, but you get the point. A former All-Star, one of the best in the league, reduced to being sold off as a deduction in what amounted to a career full of injuries, and lack of production. He will always be remembered for his cannon arm during his first contract with the team, but by the time the 2nd contract was signed, he was a shell of his former self. Now, he goes to a Cardinal team loaded to compete and make a run at the title. In return, we get a good AA ball player, in return for paying almost all of his contract. I mean, did I miss something? Did Frank suddenly strike oil or something? Unless he’s going to pay Raffy’s contract with Monopoly money, THIS IS A JOKE. Good for the future or not, Raffy was traded for a minor leaguer who will become a 4th OF, and not something we need.

4. With the need to ship out Hiroki, Carroll, Ethier, Lilly, Guerrier, Broxton, and anyone else old, slow, under-performing, etc., or anyone that deserves a chance to help a playoff ball club, ie. Carroll, for prospects to restock our farm, we didn’t do a thing. We stood pat, and we will regret it next season. You think this season was horrible. Imagine almost $45 million coming off the record books, and no obligation to actually use that money on major league talent. Imagine a team that has a rookie starting in as many as 6 positions next year, a starter, and like 2 bullpen spots. Imagine our Opening Day payroll at $65- $89 mil range. Imagine having Matt Kemp be the only hitter, with Ethier traded away for scraps or fringe major leaguers. What about the year after, when contracts of Bills, Lilly and others come off or something of the like of books. This team is mediocre at best right now, but with next season already looming on the horizon, I do feel sickened.

All in all, with the many holes needed to be filled and restocked, Ned chose to sell his talent short, and for that, I hope he loses his job, or worse off, dies choking on his own words in trying to find a way to spin today’s debacle. What’s next? We needed a catcher, 2nd Basemen, 3rd Basemen, 1st Basemen, etc.; position players, but all we got was more outfielders and pitchers. No need to forget the fact that Lucas May, Carlos Santana, etc. were traded last season and seasons past, but now we have been weakened with no end to this nightmare in sight.

WHAT’S NEXT

Well, the WAIVER Trade Deadline comes up next, and as we all know, Ned sure does know how to pick ’em round this time as well. Maybe this time will be Sands, Rubby, DeJesus or Dee’s time to be traded for more career minor leaguers. Heck, they’re just the way Frank likes ’em – young, cheap, and obedient.

Sad to say, I won’t be taking my daughter to a ball game anytime soon.

Colletti has completely lost is mind. However, since he still works for Frankrupt, I think it is McCrook who REALLY stuck it to us! He is telling us, the fans, “You want me out, do you? Well, I’m going to give you more grief long after I’m gone!”

Too bad I’m a true blue Dodger fan, or I would look for another team to support. That being said, I will NEVER go to a game until this regime is gone and, I will NEVER buy anything with the Dodger logo on it until this regime is gone.

So, please, FRANK, SELL THE TEAM AND LEAVE L.A… A.S.A.P!!!!!

  2. nedisajerk says:

This was the one time shot for me to go to a game in the 2nd weeks of September to see the hometown boy Robinson, Gordon, Sands and of course Kershaw, Kemp, Ethier, Elbert, Guerra, Jansen if he’s healthy and De La Rosa if they don’t shut him down.

  3. trublu4ever says:

Mattingly blames our loss yesterday on a lack of energy. I think it is more….the players are as pissed off as we are on the way this freaking team is being run!!

  4. selltheteam says:

Nice post, yunghitters89. I agree with most of what you said. However, I think that Federowicz may actually have some chance of becoming a decent MLB catcher. But because he’s not strong offensively, at best he will be like Yeager for us. The question remains, is a Yeager-esque catcher a worthwhile trade for Trayvon, who could have filled the yawning gap in LF for us? Given Trayvon’s ability to hit for power outside of Alberquerque, this will likely be a question we will continue asking for many years.

Other than the above, I totally agree with your assessment that we have passed up the potential to restock our farm system with good prospects. Could we have gotten a decent prospect in exchange for Carroll? I would think at least one. Could we have convinced Hiroki to waive his no-trade clause? Don’t know.

  5. Dodger dawg 32 says:

See people, we have to be careful what we wish for with Ned and Frankrupt in charge. We all wished that Ned would trade away some of these old vets and re stock with good prospects, the key word there is good. Meanwhile he does get back prospects, minor league fodder for perhaps the Dodgers best outfield prospect. Just what we needed Ned another no hit catcher, don’t we already have 3 of those if you count AJ? Ned will go down as the worst GM the Dodgers ever had, and that’s because he’s not a GM or a baseball guy, just a PR man at best. It just goes to show how Frankrupt really feels about the Dodgers, nothing more than an ATM otherwise he would have gotten rid of Ned a long time ago.

  6. Please – nobody tell Ned that Matt Stairs is available! He was DFA’d last week. You KNOW Ned’ll knock down fences to get him!!

  7. selltheteam says:

Lineup – Loney is Back from Vacation!

    Gordon SS
    Blake 3B
    Ethier RF
    Kemp CF
    Rivera LF
    Barajas C
    Loney 1B
    Carroll 2B
    Kershaw P

  8. selltheteam says:

Ouch! Rubby to the DL with right elbow inflammation. I guess that’s one way to limit his innings.

  9. messagebear says:

Oh please, not Ely again. Let’s try somebody who has not been at the major league level yet – might surprise just like Rubby did.

    • selltheteam says:

At least it’s Ely and not Haegar or an Ortizi. Still, with all the depth of pitching in the Dodgers’ farm system? I guess they didn’t want to start the clock ticking on arbitration on someone new.

In other news, I can’t wait until the end of Frank and Ned. Ned’s trades just make me physically ill.

      • trublu4ever says:

Ned makes me physically ill too! And, Donnie wonders why his team is playing without energy….all the upchucking may be draining them 😉

  10. colliethec says:

Typical Ned. No plan at all. Just reactionary and going all willy nilly.

I wish he would of told HK that if he wanted to help the organization going to possibly win a ring with the Yankees or Boston would be a win for both he and the Dodgers. That it would be a short 3 month move.

His moves just don’t seem to make any sense at all. He trades a potential impact player for 3 players that will fill out the spring training roster.

The catcher they received I did hear had some upside so lets hold out hope that Ned got lucky and found a Dre in the rough. We’ll see. I’m just going to try to be patient and hope that this nightmare will be over soon. I just wish McCourt would have an epiphany and sell the team.

  11. dodgereric says:

These idiots would have to contract a serious case of “character” in order to recognize such an epiphany. Sadly, neither one of them have any.

  12. colliethec says:

I think they played with no energy because yesterday they realized they are playing for an organization that isn’t going anywhere this year and has no leadership and poor decision makers at the top to help them go anywhere in the near future.

I know I would have a hard time working with any zest or zeal knowing that my bosses/owner were #1 stupid & #2 selfish & #3 no vision for the future.

  13. Nellyjune says:

Some of these Dodger fans are just plain idiots and they deserve what they get. They see the Kuroda thing as being loyal to the team and referencing it to the fact that some players aren’t happy and that those players just need to get over it. They walk around in their rose-colored glasses thinking that if a player is not happy, they aren’t loyal to the team. We, the fans, are very loyal to the team, and we are mad as hell. So tired of reading that players are unhappy (with no real documentation that they are), and then these so-called Dodger fans are upset they are upset. I don’t care how much money they make, its frustrating working for a boss you hate. I would love nothing better then to see the entire team revolt, and send a message Frank is a scumbag and Ned is a pathetic idiot.

  14. Nellyjune says:

If you are a player on this team and not upset about what is happening to the organization, then you are the one with the problem. However, some should be happy Ned was dumb enough to sign you. Furcal did what Andre and Matt and many others wished they could do…… Get the hell out!!!

  15. JhallWally says:

Well, looks like Ned has done it again. Another incredibly stupid trade. Supposedly for a catching prospect that is not any better than what we already have in the system. Oh, and the fact that they are all Rule V eligible next year. Ned just gave up one of our best prospects for 3 low to mid level talents that were going nowhere and that the Red Sox were going to lose anyway if they did not put them on their 40 man roster next year.

    http://mikesciosciastragicillness.com/2011/08/01/the-aftermath-of-the-trayvon-robinson-trade/

    • trublu4ever says:

Read the article this morning. I love this blog. Very clever analysis.

    • Nellyjune says:

…..and yet according to the real “fake” fans, the players are not allowed to be upset about the BS around them. They aren’t loyal if they are upset. Ummmmm, I’m very loyal to my classroom, but I don’t like working for my boss. It’s different saying you are upset with an organization and saying you don’t want to be a Dodger anymore. We love our country, but our government sucks right now. These idiot fans don’t get that, and it’s really annoying. They are the ones showing up for the games ready to do the wave all night long and sneak their beachbalks in, even when the team is losing by 5,6,7 or more runs.

  16. JhallWally says:

Franks an idiot. He let Ned trade away TRob. From here on out, what is there to get excited about and come to the ballpark for? Not much. Maybe every fifth day to see Kersh. I was looking forward to them bringing up TRob in Sept to see what he could do. Probably would have created some excitment and maybe a few more asses in the seats.

  17. JhallWally says:

Well, the Mariners are happy with the trade. The Red Sux are happy with the trade. And why not? They both got what they were after at our expense.

The Red Sox wanted and needed badly a quality starting pitcher for the stretch run and the playoffs because of injuries and poor performance. But they did not want to give up any top tier talent to get said pitcher.

The Mariners are out of it and have a quality starter that they are willing to unload. However, they want a top ten prospect.

Well, so far, no deal. And then Theo gets on the phone to the biggest bafoon in baseball. Ned Colletti. These really good and successful GMs really know a mark when they see one.

So now, the deal gets done. Boston gives up 2nd and 3rd tier spare parts they had no use for and get their starting pitcher.

The Mariners dump some salary and get a top ten prospect for basically nothing.

And the Dodgers are left with the failing minor league prospects the Red Sox didn’t want and were going to lose next year anyway.

    Totally Unacceptable!!!!!!

  18. trublu4ever says:

Ned even made Beav run away from home 😉

    • JhallWally says:

Yep, unfortunately, it looks like things are going to get alot worse before they get better. And if Frank somehow manages to come out of all this and is still the owner, they will never get better.

      • trublu4ever says:

I really don’t see how Frankrupt can come out of this as our owner. I’m hoping by the winter meetings, he will be a sad memory.

        • JhallWally says:

Well, most likely he won’t. Most experts and people close to the situation believe that ultimately Frank will be forced to sell. It is just a matter of how long the process will take. I’ll be real surprised and incredibly happy if he is gone before next season.

  19. trublu4ever says:

    I’ll drink to that!

  20. trublu4ever says:

Come on Kersh….it’s only the Puds!

  21. Nellyjune says:

The players that are left after scumbag has officially left the building will be celebrating too:)

  22. selltheteam says:

The new owner will just have to pick up the pieces. But if Frank isn’t forced out soon, the pieces will be just crumbs. At the end of next season, Kemp and Ethier will be gone.

    • I would expect that they’ll both have great years next season because that will be their bargaining points. That’s not the reason I’d like to see it happen, but I will be happy for both of them if they do.

      • Nellyjune says:

I agree!! Neither one of them will have anything to lose. Either the Dodgers will pay to keep them, or they will get picked up by a team who thinks they will benefit from a better working environment. The players might not be showing signs of wanting out, but there’s no doubt their agents are watching out for them, as they should be.

  23. trublu4ever says:

Come on…let’s make this a huge inning!

  24. Dodger dawg 32 says:

Does anyone think that any quality player will want to sign here? That includes our own, I don’t. Most good players want to win, and as long as this franchise has idiots in charge, we won’t go anywhere but down. Meanwhile the idiots will offer bobble heads like their own to try and sucker in fans.

    • trublu4ever says:

Nope. No qualiity player would want to be in the middle of this mess. Except for Kuroda (not exactly quality) who didn’t even want to leave us when he had the chance.

    • Nellyjune says:

Well, according to the comments I was reading from fans today, they think Kuroda showed loyalty to the team by using his no-trade clause, Andre is scum and not loyal to his team because he “supposedly” is not happy with the organization, and that Matt will be around forever. They live in a very screwed up Dodger blue world right now, and they are in for a very rude awakening this off season if they don’t wake up and smell the stench of Frank and Ned.

      • JhallWally says:

Screw Kuroda. He could have done more for the team by accepting a trade. He’s a chicken shit that put his own selfish interests and pride above the needs of the team.
And the fans you are speaking of(you know who you are out there) deserve just what they will have when Frank and Ned are done with them. Go ahead you blind, misguided faithful, keep putting money in his bank account.

        • trublu4ever says:

What they don’t realize is that he will probably go back to Japan after this season. So, we got nothing for nothing! A typical Colletti move!

        • Nellyjune says:

I am not totally upset about Kuroda staying, but I certainly understand for business purposes why he should have taken the deal. However, what upset me is that some fans used his “so-called” loyalty to lash out at Andre once again for supposedly telling a fan he is not happy with the organization, and saying Andre is not loyal to his team. Like Andre is going to walk up to a fan, of all people, and tell them he is not happy. So, it’s just rumor after rumor, and they all buy it like it’s fact. I have yet to get anybody to document a source from where they heard this information from Andre himself. It’s all he said, she said crap.

    • Nellyjune says:

Even now, there are Dodger fans who are calling the Padres America’s AAA Team. Have they looked at the standings lately? We are two AAA teams fighting for the bottom.

  25. vl4eccjr says:

I think if they would offer a Ned, or Frank bobblehead night, they would set a record for an all time low in attendance. The only ones to show would be gun enthusiasts wanting something other than bottles, or cans for target practice.

  26. trublu4ever says:

Vinny: “Padres are averaging 25,000 per game while the Dodgers’ average is 35,000.” In your dreams, Vinny!

  27. trublu4ever says:

    On a bright note….Gnats losing 5 – 1 to Dbacks!

  28. vl4eccjr says:

Sheeit! Odog has left the building!

  29. vl4eccjr says:

    WTG MATT!!
    What a year indeed!

  30. Nellyjune says:

    Way to go Matt!!!

  31. trublu4ever says:

YAY….the start of a winning streak!

  32. vl4eccjr says:

A complete game win for Kersh! I bet the bullpen enjoyed their night off. They have been over worked ALOT lately.

  33. JhallWally says:

    Way to go Kersh!!!

  34. Nellyjune says:

    Way to go Kersh!!!

  35. trublu4ever says:

Ha-Ha….all the new and improved power on the Gnats still only managed two freaking runs. Losers again….5 – 2.

  36. Nellyjune says:

Looks like Rubby is out for the season. His MRI came back, and he has torn ligament in his elbow. The course of action will be decided tomorrow.

    • So now its Ely time again..chalk a loss up on the board everytime he comes on to pitch..Too many get em in there type pitchers and not enough finesse..Where’s Maddux when we need him.??

  37. pretty soon, we’re gonna see a rotation including eveland, lilly and kuroda and a lineup of loney, uribe, velez, and navarro..

    that is one scary lineup…
    (sarcasm)
    lol..

i think ill go watch grass grow in the meantime..

  38. nedisajerk says:

    Courtesy of Sean McAdam
    CSNNE.com Red Sox Insider

On Saturday night, in fact, the team was prepared to make two separate deals for starters.

They had an agreement in place to send catching prospect Tim Federowicz and another prospect to Los Angeles for pitcher Hiroki Kuroda.

Some minor haggling remained on a third prospect, with the Red Sox privately resigned to including that player if it meant the deal would get done.

The whole trade got scuttled, however, when the Dodgers approached Kuroda to see if he would willingly waive his no-trade clause and Kuroda refused.

That sent the Red Sox in the direction of Oakland’s Rich Harden, and hours later they had a deal in place for him, too — Lars Anderson and a choice of one of three players to be named later.

Two of the three players to be named later were considered top second tier prospects.

Then the Red Sox got Harden’s medical reports and were scared off by what they saw. Attempting to get some protection from giving up a good prospect as one of the players to be named, the Sox asked the A’s for a reworked deal based on Harden’s availability the remainder of the season.

If Harden made a certain number of regular season starts over the final two months and was on the postseason roster, the A’s would get their choice from the original list. If he failed to meet that standard, the list would be reworked for lesser players.

When the A’s balked, the Red Sox pulled out of the deal.

That sent them back to the Seattle Mariners. It had been the Red Sox’ plan to get another pitcher before going back to talk about Bedard — both to provide strength in numbers and also give them some leverage in talks with the Mariners, whom had asked for two top prospects earlier in the week.

Having scouted him Friday night at Safeco Field in his return from a knee injury that sidelined him for a month, the Sox weren’t concerned about his poor outing.

Nor were they of the belief that Bedard had sabotaged his trade value by pitching poorly, thus ensuring he would remain in Seattle for the remainder of the season.

The weekend before, when the Mariners were at Fenway, the Sox had some of their talent evaluators watch him pitch a simulated game. When Bedard noticed the Red Sox scouting him, he picked up his intensity and his stuff was immediately improved.

Any question about his willingness to pitch in Boston had been answered.

Then came the hard part. The Mariners were intent on getting two athletic outfielders as part of their return and the Sox didn’t want to provide more than one from within.

Instead, using the talks on Kuroda as a base for restarting discussions with the Dodgers, the Sox agreed to send three prospects to Los Angeles — Federowicz and pitchers Stephen Fife and Juan Rodriguez — for minor-league outfielder Trayvon Robinson. They then packaged Robinsion
with their own outfielder, Chih-Hsien Chiang, to get Bedard.

….So basically Ned was planning on sending Kuroda to BOS for the same player package he got for Robinson

Blame the A’s because if they had made the Harden deal then we would of kept both Kuroda & Robinson

I was going to post this morning but had to leave to the hospital but something is fishy with this trade. Kuroda value must be really low than.

  40. nedisajerk says:

I don’t know if I would be happy if that trade Robinson for 2 of the Boston top 10 that include there Middlebrook and that other catcher for him than the Red Sox could’ve flip him to Seattle for Bedard. We could’ve had our future 1st baseman and catcher.

    • If they were willing to trade Lars Anderson for an injury prone Harden, and Federowicz for Kuroda, then it’s not hard to assume that the 3 offered for Kuroda was Federowicz, Lars and probably Middlebrooks, and had the Dodgers included Tray in that deal for say another OF or 2B, then it would of benefitted all teams, but what Ned did was he became the bitch of both Seattle and Boston, and sold away what little umphhh the minor leagues had to offer..Maybe Tray’s power wouldn’t of made it with him to the majors, but something is better than nothing.

      • nedisajerk says:

Holy crap I surely hope not.

        • It’s point blank clear that he didn’t have a clue as to what to do and who to trade away, seeing as how his money was entirely on his pony Kuroda accepting a trade. That’s what bugs me most, that Kuroda fucked over the team. Tray was traded because of Kuroda, and that’s something no true fan should support. I will boo Kuroda when he pitches because nothing happened because of him. With him, we could of filled many spots and had the option of trading Loney during the off-season or waiver wire or Trade Deadline, etc.

If Frank wants some kudos points for anything, the least he should do is fire Ned now, and bitch slap him on the way out!!!

That will get a thumbs up from me..

  41. nedisajerk says:

I surely hope this isn’t truth because if it truth than I hate to say this but I’m upset at Kuroda for this.

    • As well you should be. One trade was created because of the stubborness of the player from the other. The deal was made just to make a deal.

      • Nellyjune says:

Oh, but according to the fans on FB, you are supposed to repect his loyalty to the team and applaud him for his decision. Anybody who complains about the current conditions of the Dodgers Organization is not being loyal to the team. It’s plain BS, but that’s what some fans are saying.

        • trublu4ever says:

I find it disturbing that some on ITD feel the same way! Wasn’t our differences of opinion what made ITD special? No matter what our complaints or views of the team and management…we had one thing in common….the love of the Dodgers.

        • Fuck the fans on FB. To say that we have become the disloyal is furthest from the truth. Tell that to Cubs fans that have waited for a WS title for 103 years now. A Cleveland fan wanting a WS for 63 yrs, Mets with 25, Orioles with 28, Pirates with 32. All these teams have real fans that talk shit about the team because they demand a better product than what they have gotten.

WE HAVE WAITED 23 YRS FOR ANOTHER WS. I DIDN’T SPEND MY SUMMER FUNDS AND FIRST PAYCHECK TO FUND MEDIOCRITY AND IM SURE ALL OTHER REAL FANS DIDN’T EITHER.

So Fuck the fairweather fans on FB point blank. They accept mediocrity because their lives are mediocre. They take the sport of baseball as just a game but it is a passion that people love, that makes them real fans. Fuck the fans on FB, because at the end of the day, their “fair-weather” fandom sways like a breeze, while ours is indelible.

          • JhallWally says:

Ahhhhh, someone needs a cupcake. LOL!!!!! Pack some food, ride the bus to the stadium, buy a cheap seat and be dillusionally happy!!!!

  42. nedisajerk says:

    Oh btw WTG Kershaw.

  43. trublu4ever says:

Looks like Rubby will be gone for the season. Surgery is very possible. FIRE CONTE’S ASS!

    • JhallWally says:

I’ve seen the injury reported as a strain, a sprain, or a tear. If it is a tear and surgery is needed, we will not see Rubby until Spring Training of 2013. The good part is that most pitchers come back from TJ surgery very well. It just takes a long time.

      • nedsisjoke says:

I really hope we don’t have another Kuo on our hand. I don’t know if this is a good things for us or not especially with out current situation. I would rather see Rubby back when Ned, Conte and McCourt all gone for sure and knowing Ned and if he still our GM which is possible than we known him signing some veteran SP.

      • trublu4ever says:

I’m hearing it will probably be TJ surgery.

      • Another player fucked over by Ned for being brought up too early and too much of a work load. Ala Edwin Jackson. Too soon, too much, and now on his 7th team in 8 yrs. That is ridiculous.

Rubby shouldn’t of been up until next season at earliest but the lack of arms in the minor leagues, you know, the ones that we have been waiting for and hearing about for most part since 2004. What happened to all those pitchers we never traded. All crap and over valued.

Rubby will have a prosperous career but with Ned AND STAN, Exhibit G, no player will ever have a full year without any injuries.

  44. dodgereric says:

He has a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. Not good. Does anyone else have our record with pitching injuries?

    De La Rosa
    Garland
    Troncoso
    Padilla
    Kuo
    Jansen
    Broxton
    Monasterios

Kershaw keeps improving. He’s the only one that Bunnynuts/Conte hasn’t screwed up yet. He and Kemp are so very special, I just hope the owner leaves before they do.

And, Dodgereric, Brox has suffered a setback! It is perplexing, indeed, to see so many maimed pitchers. I think you are right as far as Bunnynuts and Conte have played a big part in their demise.

You can’t leave out Torre he did ruining most of those guy. Rubby should’ve been shutdown when he hit a combined 95th innings. This year he pitch 102 2/3 innings.

      • Brox’s problem is strictly his weight. He uses more power in carrying that gut of his through his motion than anything else. He is David Wells without the finesse.

Hello Gang!! Obviously our track record with injuries is way above average. Most of that can be attributed to Ned signing over the hill old guys and/or players with a history of injuries.
It’s not surprising that Schidt, Padilla, and Garland went down. Hell, no other team wanted anything to do with them because they knew they were damaged goods.
Furcal, Blake, Thames, Gibbons, Nomar, etc…, were/are just old, have had a history of injuries, or both.
It really wasn’t hard to see these injuries coming and most of us here actually did.
Ned and Conte should be held accountable for this but are somehow escaping culpability because of the turmoil in the owners box.

It’s truly disheartening to see Rubby go down like this. Especially coming just after Ned traded away Trayvon for beans. Even with the shitty team we have now, at least we could have looked forward to the youth – an offense that included Trayvon, Kemp, Dre, Gordon, Sands; a relief corp that included Jansen, Javy, Tolleson, etc, and a starting rotation of Kershaw, Bills, and Rubby.

Now, all I can look forward to is the departure of Frank ‘n’ Ned. But the end is not yet in sight. I can’t blame the Beav for leaving, but I hope he comes back.

Do you really think that Frank and Ned really care at this point what happens on the field? It’s all about persevering in the next step of the bankruptcy proceedings and getting Jamie’s support lowered. Ned feels on solid ground as long as he’s following Frank’s direction, which will keep reducing the payroll as long as he’s still around. In the meantime it’s our beloved team that is sinking in the quagmire. Why anybody would want to remain a Dodger under these circumstances is beyond me, and I see them all leaving when they get the chance. Hurray for Trayvon – he’s at least out of here. Even Seattle must feel good by comparison.

I have no idea what goes on with facebook. It’s a bit of a surprise to me if they are not as PO’d as we are. As for Ethier supposedly having a bad attitude, who wouldn’t be influenced by all this crap. Blake made a comment about how this disaster was having a negative affect in the clubhouse. There are others besides Andre. Myself, McCourt(s) cannot get away from the team fast enough, and when we get a new owner, they would probably be better served by a new GM. But booing Kuroda and referring to him as a chicken shit is a little much. I think we all know better than that. That’s the deal he signed on for and he did not want to go. I’m glad he’s still here.

    Ned’s Horseshit Lineup

    Gordon SS
    Blake 3B
    Miles 2B
    Kemp CF
    Rivera RF
    Loney 1B
    Navarro C
    Gwynn LF
    Kuroda P

First we lose Jansen. Second, he trades away Trayvon. Third, we lose Rubby. Now, where the hell is ‘Dre? Stop the pain, make Frank go away!!!

  48. trublu4ever says:

Maybe Donnie does want us to finish dead last! And, he just may get his wish!

  49. I’m hoping the reason Dre isn’t playing today is to rest his sore knee. Otherwise it makes no sense! Then again, we haven’t had a manager that made sense for a long time.
